Oil Change And Yearly Service | Porsche Cayenne

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I cover the engine oil and filter change process for the VR6 variant Porsche Cayenne (base model). The yearly service is what we recommend along side the engine oil change. The yearly service includes: Clearing out all vehicle water drains, cleaning/treating all door rubber seals, clearing out radiator/condenser intake, and lubricating all door locks/hinges.
This video is on the long side but I hope you enjoy it.

My name is Ryan. I’ve been a professional automotive technician for over 10 years. Through high school I worked at an independent service shop every day after class, during the summer, and then part time while I attended Universal Technical Institute. While at UTI I applied for and was accepted into the Porsche technology apprentice program (PTAP) in Atlanta Georgia for 6 months of factory training. Once I returned to Chicago, I started my Porsche career at Loeber Motors Porsche in Lincolnwood, Illinois. I’ve been at my dealership for 7 years now.
Every day I come into the shop I strive for perfection in my abilities to maintain and service these amazing machines. My goal with this channel is to show what goes into keeping new and classic Porsche vehicles on the road for years to come.

Since I’m seeing a lot of questions about this here you go. Thanks for watching! Chemicals and sprays used in the video: Brake clean - used for oil filter housing and cleaning residual oil off of engine. Mild degreaser - used to clean engine bay before applying Winzer rubber and plastic restore. Winzer rubber and plastic restore - used for door/sunroof seals and engine bay trim. As far as I know this is only sold to shops for professional use. Wurth HHS-K - used for door hinges and locks.

Seems to me that the owner is the typical “vehicle is to use and replace” type. Clearly used automatic carwash machines all time as paint is completely destroyed. And scratched. You see there are persons that likes “the cache” of Porsches (or a particular brand) but for them a car is nothing else that a piece of furniture to be transported from point A to B. There are lots of people that doesn’t care less what maintenance and the car aspect represents to him ir her personally. For me a car aspect is part of my personal appearance too.

Although most petrol heads will think a lot of the services are gravy, a majority of the people will not go into this much detail to maintain their own cars. Case in point, the owner of the Cayenne couldn't even keep the leaves and dirt out of the drains. Please keep them coming. I'm interested in seeing the minor and major service components of a 911.

I do weekly maintenance washes on my garage kept cayenne and around 40k miles the cabin was leaking water because of a clogged drain. I had just had the 40k maintenance done less than two months before. It is refreshing to watch someone who takes pride in their work and doesn't skip steps or take shortcuts. After watching this, I will just clean them out myself in the future.

There is a a large checklist put together by Porsche. When they do a major service they should be giving you a copy for your records with what was done and signed by the technician and foreman/QC checker. If anything on the checklist obviously didn't get done, I would go back and demand that it get done. After all, you paid for it, so it is only fair.

Mio Isurugi you are correct, I have seen it before. What has happened in the past is that they claim they have done but the extent of the work is certainly not up to par with @P-Tech. Its starting to happen now more often with CPO vehicles too! I know dealers that will sell vehicles as CPO without the prior inspection.. I walked out of a deal exactly because of that and from another because the checklist didn’t add up! Maybe P-Tech could do a video showing his work while inspecting a CPO candidate!

I know these services are about ~$400 which I hate to pay since I like to DIY, but this video makes it seem somewhat worth the cost.

When I pick up my next Porsche, I’m gonna bring it to Loeber, and ask that you service my vehicle! Even though there’s 2 other dealers a lot closer to me.

Daaaam, look at the size of the front sway bar!🙀🙀🙀. Come in for a $120 dollar oil change, leave with a $2000 service bill. Life with owning a Porsche. Gotta give this guy credit,he’s a very meticulous service technician.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Amazing video. I believe my service at Reeves Tampa has this attention to detail. At least I hope so! Thanks again!

Seeing how trashed this Cayenne is makes me feel REALLY good about how well I take care of mine. I wish all techs were as thorough as this.

always so satisfying to watch PT working. and also it makes me mad to know how many vehicle owners neglecting to take care of their car. this one was just filthy... probably those are the ones mostly complain how unreliable their cars are... remember. you take care of your car, she takes care of you. in this case PT took care of her. LOL

I wish to be at the level of cleanliness and attention to detail as you are. I strive to do it every day at the dealer I work for, but they just want cars in an out.

Love your videos. Great to see tour skill and care. Bit concerned about the overspray on the interior when doing the door seals though.

Ryan, thank you so much for all of your awesome videos. I learned a lot from you. I recently purchased 2016 Cayenne (base). I have a two post lift. I tried to put the Cayenne on my lift and I wasn't sure where the lifting points are on the car. Next time you do a video on 958.2 Cayenne, can you point out where the safest lifting points are on this car? Thanks.
