Thank you for all of your info now I know why they stop and how they change the guards and stuff I was always wondering about that

I’ve noticed when they have a group of kids and everything. They are so disrespectful and so rude. I don’t see them joining the military. I think they should to get some discipline will just stand there and stare at them I mean what’s the point of that poor guards

Helps stay in step with comrades. Also used to get attention of people around them if necessary. Not to mention pure style!

Changing of the shift. Every hour Guard and horse. Every two hours, foot Guards. Every 15 minutes foo Guard checks on Guards and horses.

Most soldiers stamp as part of their marching and on duty routine, it aids coordination. They don't stamp when slow marching, it is impossible to stamp slowly

Have you all not noticed all the new cameras wired during the Christmas shutdown and installed then or since? They can’t sneeze without notice to bosses.

No they don't stand for hours. 1 hour horse and guard 2 hours foot guards.

Maybe the real reason for the stamp is so their sergeant or who ever in charge of the watch can hear them and know they haven't fallen asleep , of course there will be another explanation given too the guardsmen as nobody likes to be micro managed . now it's just tradition but serves the same propose they can be heard and gives them something to do , only another 500 stamps and i can have a cup of tea and a slice of cake. LoL
