Almost the only way I ever started my ‘69 VW bug. One damp winter day in around 1990 I was in the local mall parking lot and there must’ve been a dozen people with their hoods up getting jump started, I guess the combination of temperature and moisture was really problematic that day. I’m sure anyone looking at the rusty, mismatching paint Bug was thinking “yeah, like this is gonna start”. Drop the handbrake, roll down the hill and “hasta la vista suckers”! 😂. Our house was also on a slight hill so I could coast out at night and be well away from the house when I started it so I could sneak out quite easily.

I would never own a push start vehicle. I don't even like having a chipped key. They keep making everything more complicated & computerized, so they can charge more money for it. I had to replace a valve stem on my tire & they said it would be $90, or I could get a traditional valve stem that doesn't activate the "low tire" light for $16 including installation. Since I'm not a drooling idiot, I went with the $16 valve stem. Now my "Low Tire" light never shuts off but, also because I'm not a drooling idiot, I can figure out when my tires are low without the warning light.

I used to work at a packing house and one guy who was on a forklift had an old Ford tractor with a bin trailer in his way so he turned the key and it didn't even crank over so he assumed that the battery was dead. So he pushed in with the forklift but he left it with the key on, throttle on, and in gear. The tractor moved itself out of the way and kept going and going, straight to a giant stack of brand new pallets. He got it stopped in time but could have easily gotten hurt or killed. Thirty years ago, a friend was moving into a new house and had rented a moving van. A group of friends had offered to help with the move. When my wife and I showed up, everyone was frantic because the only van that was available was a manual and no one could drive it. Fortunately, both my wife and I could drive stick.

I had a standard 20 years ago . Yup , it was a push start standard. Came in handy a couple times until I replaced . It was a Mazda . Open the door , put key in ignition and push while you run along side the car . When you get up to a good speed , jump in , the key is already turned on and you pop the clutch . Easy Peasy .

I had a "puah start" car from the 60's. Even the gears were push button. So they are not really new. I also had an MGA sports car my brother let me drive. It started by pushing it down the hill, jump in and pop the clutch. Ahhh. Good times.

Had an interesting misunderstanding with a co-worker once. We were talking about celebrity crushes and this young lady said she always thought Uncle Jesse was cute. I was a little confused why a gal her age would have had a crush on Denver Pyle, Uncle Jesse on Dukes of Hazzard. She informed me she meant Uncle Jesse from Full House, John Stamos. Oops! Wrong generation.

My " YOU KNOW YOUR OLD STORY " I was the tube ( METRO TRAIN LONDON ) when a good looking young Lady kept smiling and looking at me , after a while I started looking around me because I thought she must be looking at somebody else, she wasn't and kept smiling. At this point I thought " WELL I'M OLD BUT I'VE STILL GOT IT !! " She then leaned over to me and said ( STILL SMILING ) " WOULD YOU LIKE MY SEAT !!!! " I was absolutely crestfallen , the train stopped at the next stop and I got off and waited for the next train " STILL GOT IT " SILLY OLD FOOL my wife laughed her ass off when I told her what happened . HAVE A GREAT DAY, PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE ❤❤.

I was shopping and noticed a young mother, thirty or so, two toddlers on the loose, and one about nine months old, with an old woman pushing the stroller with the baby. The young woman seemed really familiar. But I couldn’t place her. Suddenly I realized the old woman pushing the carriage was a cheer leader I thought was extremely cute in high school. I knew I was old.

A friend of mine was looking for a new Ford pickup and he wanted a 6 speed stick shift, the dealership in California didn't have one but they found a dealer in Colorado who had one in stock and paid for his plane ticket to come to Colorado and drive it home.
