Angry Customer says "I'm refusing the delivery unless you can get it to the backyard" reup

Ойын-сауық

Good morning everyone so today we had a delivery going to this customer in which we gave them an hour call ahead and he had a whole attitude on the phone before we even got there which is the story you were hearing when the video first turned on. pulled up to the customer's house and he doesn't understand what a curbside delivery means and then begins to tell us that he doesn't want the material unless we can fit it through a gate by wiggling the machine through and we had not even seen what the site looks like so we offer to just take the material off and see what we can do when we got up there but that wasn't good enough for him. Customer refused to order We ended up bringing the order back to the shipper.

Brand new house. Went to deliver all the appliances. Karen at the door said that if we got so much as a spec of dust or dirt inside the house she would sue. Called the manager and he said "Bring it all back". We did. Life is too short to take it seriously or to deal with Karens.

@@anthonybarefoot6744 my cousin worked at Lowes and I would hear so many horror stories.. she has autism (high functioning so if you weren’t told you wouldn’t know) and she was on lunch talking to her friend / coworker and it came up and her manager overheard and unprovoked started treating her like shit and saying, “I heard you have autism, I hope you understand I’m not going to be any easier on you because of that because no one in the real world cares about your autism…” and her manager would just be mean and cruel to her based on something she overheard two people talking about. And she would say it every week at least once just to be cruel, she would ask my cousin to do something and follow it with, “and you better have it done right and on time and I don’t wanna hear excuses or about your autism” all un promoted as my cousin never complained or brought up her autism or try to use it as an excuse or crutch… she literally just mentioned it one time in casual conversation to a coworker/friend. Finally I told her that she doesn’t have to put up with that kind of abuse and what is essentially being treated poorly due to a disability so I had my lawer contact the store and say that he had heard from a “customer” me.. that overheard this manager verbally abusing a worker about her autism and that is a clear OSHA violation that also violates the Americans With Disabilities Act so you might want to stop doing that as you are literally breaking a law. My cousin never heard that bitch say anything about it again and the horrible woman apologized and luckily my cousin got the hell out of there the second she graduated college and now has a great job in entertainment and got the job based on her senior thesis on the portrayal of autistic people in media as well as their mistreatment in the workplace. So there is some justice and a happy ending

I have proven this on many occasions, I pay for a product to be delivered properly, an appliance into the house, building materials where they need to be, and I always check with the company before payment. My contract is with the supplier, not the driver. If he tells me his not going to do as I paid for, he can piss off with the delivery.

It cost me an extra $50 and was worth every penny. It was 5 minutes of work for them, the hydraulic thing they used to move the 665-lb. gun safe was pretty cool to see in action. A few years ago, I ordered a large amount of lumber to build a deck in my backyard. I paid for curbside delivery, which I knew meant at the curb. However, after chatting up the driver for a short while, I asked if he could help me get the load into the garage, which would save me a lot of work. At first, he hesitated, saying that technically he wasn't supposed to do that. However, he agreed to meet me more than halfway. He offered to back into the driveway and get it as close to the garage as he could. I was grateful and thanked him for his extra effort. After he left, I carried the boards one at a time into the garage, which was a lot easier given that it was close to the garage. The experience illustrates one of the most important lessons my parents taught me: treat people with courtesy and respect, especially if you want something from them that you haven't paid for. This lesson about respect applies to everyone: teachers, delivery workers, store clerks, police officers, and anyone who has to deal with the public. It boggles my mind that so many people think that piss and vinegar will get them what they want in life.

Cool, I'll take it back and have a great day man, lol. If the customer still wanted the product it would be charged for re-delivery a second time with the same restriction after the office explained to the customer what their obligation was and what they were paying for. The shipment is now subject to return shipping fees, intercept turn around fees, storage fees, and re delivery charges which are not eligible for discounts of any kind. Don't undo your loaded truck until and when you visually look at the gate and final placement of the product ( in the backyard ). After the inspection, inform the customer that you can't get through the gate ( if that is the case ) and call the store to tell the Manager on duty that the customer has refused this delivery and then go back to the store. If they want their product bad enough, they can surely change their attitude. I will not entertain disrespectful people. I don’t care who they are.

now, if I was the delivery company, I would refuse to deliver again and make the a**hole make other arrangements to get it to his house and get it to his backyard. The idiot could have gotten it at least up to the house, then carried it through the gate, now I would make him transport it himself plus get it through the gate as well. First he goes and checks the load and says all is good, then he goes on to say that all of the dimensional lumber are the wrong sizes. Honestly, I would have dropped it anyways and made him make arrangements to have it picked, returned and pay the extra money to do so. He just cut off his nose to spite his face. People are idiots.

I always HATED those deliveries that the customer expected FAR more than what my job description was! Delivering corrugated cartons, I had one customer that expected me to put his items up on his shelves in his storeroom! Called the boss, he said just drop the pallet at the front door and leave. This customer tried with all the drivers to do the same thing. I was the first that stood up to them.

A buddy ran a delivery service for a few years. I would help him sometimes. One time he had this wooden box 5' X 5' X 10' on the back of a short flat bed truck. He had no fork lift to move it. We put our backs to the box and pushed with our legs against the back of the truck cab. It took about 6 cycles of pushing and rocking that big box before it toppled over, doing 270 degrees rotation flat on the curb behind the truck. The owner was ok with it.

i started otr in 2007.. one of my first solo loads in a commercial vehicle traditional tractor 53’ trailer (dry van) was to the top of Mt. Olympia in the middle of the night in a blizzard to pick up red wood. It was for a school project on the side of a mountain in Puyallup, Washington. It was a mud construction sight.. with stacks of junk everywhere.. they wanted me to go off-roading way into the back corner of their mess.. turn around in the mud and back up right to the front of their mini 20 ft storage container to off load some of their order.. 🤣(probably never even seen a semi much less understand how it maneuvers or how much room it takes to turn one around).. then they had to wait for union laborer to gather together to think about how to hand off load what they wanted.. then after cigarette breaks and i guess wasting as much time as they legally could and certainly when they wanted to.. very rude, not courteous, offensive and ridiculously unnecessary.. they picked up one piece at a time walk it into their trailer move junk to place their piece.. then take another cigarette break.. we could of offloaded up front.. on parking lot.. they could of been paid for six months to carry it back to their foot locker/tackle box on their atv.. but the foreman called the company and said to their door meant that trailer since their was no door yet.. it was mean and stupid.. i was hoping the truck would get stuck and maybe the tow truck would get stuck too.. but eight hours later.. i got out. happy days educating Puyallup ahead I pray! yup customer’s spending state or county money are worse than anal procrastinators who have no room for the project of their dreams.. after they sobered up and realized they messed up while they were drunk 🥃.

On the order form I signed each time, it specifically stated, in very bold letters, curbside delivery (Obviously for things not like appliances that normally would be delivered in house). Now, was anything I had delivered as cumbersome as this? No, but I have had very heave things delivered such as weight lifting equipment and all the times the driver was as cool and accommodating as he could be. I was fully aware it was a curbside delivery and was prepared to take it from the curb, but the drivers were always cool and backed it in as far as they could. It's most likely why so many drivers are from other countries. The ones who were doing it retired or quit because of the lack of raises. The money would cover increased costs. But, the new people don't know that. Theyre just happy to be able to work. Lots of them are on public assistance BTW. Immigrants frequently are on on housing, medical, food support programs.

The driver is required to have a bill of lading in order to legally have temporary possession of the goods on board although it needn't be a detailed list of materials, only the weight. This the customer signs and both get a copy. The purpose of the B/L is to acknowledge receipt of a shipment. The shipper would normally provide their customer with an itemized bill of sale that the driver would give to the customer to verify that he got what he paid for but can do this on his own time, at his own pace and not make a driver wait for it. If there's a discrepancy, the customer can take it up with the shipper later. In this instance, the carrier should charge the shipper for a refused delivery (usually 1/2 hour) and return the goods at the same rate that they were going to deliver it for. The extra cost would have to be born by the shipper and not the carrier who in this instance is faultless. The shipper can recover from their customer if they think he's being unreasonable or trying to get something for nothing. The trucker can't because, as a third party, he has no contract with the customer.

I used to do HVAC. Customers in rural areas during the winter when there was heavy snow were a trip. These folks usually had horrendously long driveways. Our dispatcher would ask the customer if their road and driveway were cleared. If they weren’t, we wouldn’t go there. We’d had too many instances of our trucks getting stuck. The customers would go ballistic. Farmers would say they’d meet us at the road with their tractor and ride us to the house. That’s not real feasible. We have tools to carry and have to get to the truck for parts after we diagnose the problem. Moreover, we couldn’t just leave our truck on a two lane country road. People need to realize that there is only so much service and delivery people can do to accommodate them.
