The purpose of prison should be rehabilitation and not forever punishment or isolation. Many criminals are also placed into the system wrongly. I know a financial and tax "criminal" was placed into jail for time longer than Al Capone by totally wrong conviction. The person got a 17 year prison time for selling a financial product not invented by him to 6 people. Tax crime should be no more than 5 years. Yet, the court used the standard to have consecutive sentence to give him 17 years. That is more than Bernie Madoff who committed financial fraud for 64 billions dollars and more than many murderers. He retained 2 attorneys to verify that financial product for him before he recommended the product. The court said that he invented and led the product because his company's name has two same words as the group who invented the financial products. Once one lower level court wrote this sentence wrongly into the order and opinion, the upper court just simply copy the same sentence as truth especially when DOJ also says so. When during 2008 financial crisis, no one financial advisor or institution was punished. Once the DOJ comes to your front door, one has no way to be out. DOJ is not for justice. DOJ is there to win. DOJ totally bombards its procedures with overwhelmingly, hundreds and thousands of pages of documents, and hundreds of witnesses, and monthly or procedures to hide any evidence and arguments favoring the accused. Try to fight DOJ. One just does not have the money or even qualified attorney to counter the system. Do not use the "criminals" of the federal level lightly. Just wait until the DOJ comes to your front door to see. No one can fight DOJ no matter whether it is SEC cases, IRS cases, etc. Have you seen one case which has been prosecuted by the DOJ went innocent judgment? Have you seen one? I probably can see one. Watch the movie of Abacus: Small Enough to Jail. the only bank has ever been prosecuted by DOJ for the 2008 financial crises. If the owner of the bank does not have his entire daughter group as lawyers, working for free, he probably could not avoid that, too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abacus:_Small_Enough_to_Jail That is why our criminal system needs reform and complete reform. Do you know that this New Act was supported by many black congress persons? There is a reason for that. The person I am referring is white. Even whites are treated as such. No one can win DOJ. The word of "criminal" should not be treated and categorized lightly. The word cannot be trusted -- Let's put it this way. We are a police state now -- just in case you have not known that.

I agree but berating her and shaming her in the panel was overboard and very rude. I found Senator Kennedy's overall conduct to be aggressive and rude. Totally unnecessary. Yes it is a shame she must bear but he didn't need to keep harping on it in this forum. A private chastisement would have been more appropriate if the first statement of disbelief wasn't enough. Senator Kennedy was right to expect her to come prepared with the data he demanded but his behavior was rude and offensive.

That is an old tactic to get the witness to trip up. Under oath is different than a stump speech. Kennedy is on a stump speech as a politician and making his case, which is a house of cards to anyone who understands what that means. End idiot knee jerk reactions from "professionals".
