Maybe it’s just me but there is something really soothing about watching wood being milled on a saw mill. Good stuff! 👍 Take care

Thanks Caoucaren! Yes, I think the improvements to the walls will make a huge difference!
The technology of a mill meets a tree in the bush! It’s fascinating to see you make those boards (wavy or not). You have really accomplished a lot this summer. Well done; nice update.

If I remember, someone else had a rough start and then he called the company and they walked him through a couple of adjustments to get things balanced and it worked great. Good luck !

Appears you are in an area with a lot of public lands when you are out on your Quad. Nice to be able to access that as well..

Yes Blake! I am surrounded by public land which is really convenient for getting out and about! Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
Get yourself a leaf blower, battery or gas powered. That will do the trick of blowing the saw dust. Just a thought. Thanks for the video.

The wood cutting machine is so cool. I’m sure you’ll figure it out why the cuts aren’t straight. You have a beautiful piece of land. How is your vegetable garden doing? You’re blessed ❤

Thank you Maria! It works pretty well, just have to fine tune it to get rid of the wavy boards it makes. The garden is doing well, although for how mush longer I don't know as frost will be coming any day. Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
Hey man on the wavy check the blade guides make sure they ain’t rubbing . Also check how blade tracking on rollers . Sometimes not pushing fast enough or to slow . Then when blade gets dull later it will cause wVvy

Cedar boards would be awesome to have inside the cabin, but there is no cedar tree around this area that I can use, so spruce it will be! Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
So great to see the saw mill in action. Be sure to let us know what the wavy issue is! And yeah.. bushkateer burger looks amazing 😊

@@TheBushkateer A friend of mine in the logging and milling business says belt tension is the most likely cause.

Make sure your blade tensioner is right…you can use a torque wrench to make sure it’s to spec. Make sure the blade guides are gapped correctly. I think the RPMs are low too. I bought a cheap RPM meter and set mine to the proper RPM which was much higher than my ear thought was the correct RPM. That game me much better power and it set my mind at ease knowing that it is set correctly.

One other thing came to mind after I had commented…there is a huge gap between the first blade guide and the log so that can be a big factor in wavy cutting because each time it hits a knot it’s going to want to wave. Mine is an adjustable guide on the right side so I’m assuming since yours is so far away that your model doesn’t have an adjustable guide? I would look into whether that’s an add-on possibility or I would try to get the log close to the first guide…the following guide is not as important as the lead guide. Maybe a wood spacer block between your log stops and the log? I’m just trying to help give you some reasons for the waviness. You’re going get addicted to milling! Have a great day sir.

Thanks Cabinman! All good with the information you have given and it makes sense what you stated in both of you comments. I was thinking about a tachometer for the engine when I noticed the rpm's dropped when I was at full throttle and needed to adjust the cable. Low rpm's the cutting efficiency is not there for sure and even the wood looks like it is more torn than cut finely at the lower rpm's. I will be checking the guides next time I am out and try to rectify this problem, get cutting some lumber! Thanks for tuning in and commenting!
fyi you might try not removing cut slabs and let the weight of them hold your cut boards down

I'm sure you will figure out the saw soon enough. Do yourself a favour and get some ear plugs to protect your hearing when operating that thing. I'm 60 and my hearing is slowly going. Cheers
