I am an almost 60 year old handicapped (wheelchair) lady.. I own a camp with siblings.. in the Adirondack Mtns of NY.... our camp is accessible by boat- 5 miles in. We haul everything and have no power... so many things you are doing we have done or struggled with.. our ‘hippie hot tub’ didn’t turn out as good as yours! Haha I miss being able to go so much... it’s my most favorite place to be. So watching your videos let’s me feel like I am there... so many memories.. we have never tried gardening.... love the idea... We had bear issues and moose as well... love your chainsaw attachment to create your own lumber... I am going to mention this to my brothers... we have to have our lumber bought and hauled in...we had to have steps and doors milled .. Do you have issues coming in at night? That is always the scariest thing for me... navigating by outline of mountains and islands and rock formations.... while bats and bugs swarm! We also have a 90’ dock to transverse when we arrive... and stumps and rocks under the water. Again... thank you for the memories and letting me feel a part of the outdoors again! Best of luck.

Who ever keeps saying that (it's messy) your not necessarily wrong yea there's trees and logs down all over and the ground is not flat in alot of places but I will say. Things like what they are doing takes time. And remember in time when there done. It's gonna be a paradise that everyone enjoys shoot it even is now. They are making there wonderland there paradise and all the downed trees and logs and stuff all over there using so there putting it back into nature which is so awesome like there raised beds iv never seen anyone else do it like this and I can't wait to see the beautiful garden it produces and they know what there doing so. I love watching this journey and there land transforms in big ways every day and what's bed is it's all done by there hands which is sentimental it's hand made it's there paradise. Love the videos love everyone hope everyone is well and everyone is having a beautiful blessed day 🥰☺️

I'm not sure about your diet preferences, but I would love to see a 48 hour seafood forage challenge. Try to catch/ collect an assortment of clams, crabs, squid, salmon, trout, and another mystery species (snails, sea cucumber, etc) to illustrate the natural bounty you have there. Sound like fun??

I don't think Jake and Nicole are quite ready to discuss with us such a major diet change as going from the much-vaunted veganism to including seafood. Beer and French fries are vegan, so how good for you is veganism? The answer is it depends on how you do it. The truth is, a lot of vegan food attainable in restaurants and cafes or supermarket freezers in more urban areas is formulated from vegan ingredients to taste or look like non-vegan food like meat, cheese, eggs, etc., because those are the taste sensations we are craving. But living alone, away from places where vegan food is readily available which imitates the non-vegan, we are left with vegan food, as vegan food. Been there, done that. After a few months or years of eating like that, you want to start putting home-made yogurt on your potatoes, beets, and sun chokes, or rice and beans when it comes down to that. Or you want to start taking advantage of the high-quality food readily available nearby. It adds much-desired nutrients and a new variety of diet in the taste palette. The change illustrates the reason Inuits survived in the frigid northeast and the Vikings did not. Vikings brought their methods of surviving to a new land, whereas the Inuits were adapted to the new land for survival. So, is the next diet change after this to get chickens - or goats?

@@rhodrijohn7411 I liked your comment! In fact, in nature we cannot say "weeds". All plants have various properties. It's just about getting to know them and knowing how to use them. Sometimes research helps us, sometimes it's ancient knowledge. You just have to want to document yourself before commenting. Then you can agree or not. I wish you a good life. 😊
