Octopus Reacts to Frog - Episode 13
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
In the 13th episode of Octopus Reacts, our octopus comes face to face with a creature from another world, a frog. We set up a little terrarium in front of an experiment tank and brought these 2 unique animals together. Watching an octopus react to animals they've never seen before is always interesting. We'll surely be introducing them to many more in the near future.

This brings up a question, if a octopus met up with a frog same size of it, and it's one of those gluttonous frogs who put anything in their mouths... who would eat whom? .... I'd bet on octopus due to arms

Very cool. The toad wanted a piece of those "worms" and the octopus was like, "lemme just taste your head real quick."

Neither of them showed any fear from each other. I think the frog/toad was interested in getting into the tank. I loved the way the octopus displayed himself so regally on top of his house/castle and I had to laugh when at the end he crawled into his house and than his eyes popped up to keep an eye on things (just in case)! Wonderful video!

to be fair, they taste and smell with their tentacles, so i assume that might not be too far off (and from what i know they do have radulas, like a cat tongue but extreme)
To me, it looks like the toad is trying to go after the end of the octopus’s tentacles because they look like worms, and I think the octopus caught onto that. It’s looks like the octopus is intentionally, slowly moving the ends of his tentacles back and forth in front of the toad sort of teasing him.😂 it looks like a dumb hungry toad, and an extremely intelligent and playful octopus.😂
I just realized the octopus home is shaped like an EYE! Sweet Easter Egg!
Ocotpus: "I can't reach it to taste it with my tentacle!" Frog: That thing wants to eat me!"
Toad: That is the BIGGEST bug I have ever seen.
"Hi Cthulhu!" "Oh Hai, Tsathoggua!"
They are never gonna get their leapfrog game going at this rate.

Octopus are terrible at leapfrof anyway. They tend to just drag around anything they try to jump over.
That octopus showed thehe frog who's boss, then took his pet frog for a walk, then did a bunch of alien things, then chilled for a while, then reminded the frog that he is bigger and has a *much* larger tank, then went back to his den and made himself into a frog emoji.
It's fascinating to see the curiosity of the frog! I would have thought he'd be afraid.

Octopuses aren't a natural predator for them. So, the frog was just curious. The octopus was trying to eat. They both were confused by the glass as all animals are. It's wild how humans are the only species that can perceive glass.

@@ThePrufessa other animals can but if they don't have the same kind of memory as we do they may end up forgetting about it and trying to go through it but typically they'll realize it's there you know why you see a crow pecking on the glass it realizes something there but they're trying to see if they can break through it

@@borttorbbq2556 wrong. You have no idea what you're talking about. The only time an animal will see glass is if they see a reflection. If there's no reflection out the reflection is indistinguishable from the scenery then the animal will run straight through the glass.

@@borttorbbq2556 apes living in clear glass enclosures do not perceive glass. The thick acrylic is different. If a guest puts something up to the window it will still attempt to reach thru the glass and grab it even after living in there for a length of time. They know it's a barrier there but they can't really tell what that barrier is.

This is an easy one. The octopus just wants to give the frog a hug. A big hug I mean a enormously huge loving hug that he can feel from his head to his toes! That's all......I'm pretty sure...🐙💜✌

A hug... With its beak
The octopus looked like he was trying to imitate the frog sitting in the water at the end of the video. Very cool.
I just feel as what's going through his head is, "Can I eat this?"
At about 01:52 the frog tried to eat the octopuses tentacle through the glass. Looks like the octopus recognized the frog wanted to eat his tentacles. He was waving his tentacles around in front of the frog as a lure.
"Do you taste like worm?" "Do you taste like crab?"
It could be mutual love at first sight, they both seem enchanted.
The frog is probably wondering , what the heck is that ,,, while the Octopus probably thinks , yum , lunch ,
"Hello, are you food? Can I eat you? Staff, can I eat this?"
Octopus: "I'm hungry... come closer, come and I'll taste you!"
The octopus behaved in a predatory manner, from my point of view.

I agree. Its’ initial exit from its’ hideout resembled their behavior when they hunt; they’ll spread their tentacles to encompass their prey and prevent them from escaping their grasp. Pretty cool!

I wish we knew when the last time he ate..as some of these experiments seem to be food driven..he’s probably wondering is this a reward?
Every move u make🎵Dontcha love how The Oct uses his eyes to try to intimidate and mesmerize the clueless toad. Mmmmwhahaha!😅😍😎💙
Looked like "food" to the octo; looked like a "toad" to me. :)
The octopus seemed to think of the frog as dinner. 🤔🤔🤣
I'm sure, that if the frog was IN the tank...this video would be demonitized. ;)

Nahh the frog would easily die in salt water because salt dehydrates the frog before the octopus gets it
He wants that frog so bad he can taste him through the glass!!! LOL
Octopus: Can I eat it tho Frog: I wanna eat dat
Whoever put this together doesn’t know the difference between a frog and toad.

I thought the octopus lost his mind at seeing a moving thing that could be food!
Probably reacting more to the sound of the frog through the glass. I would suspect 'meal-time' if put in a tank.
Ooooh...I like that freaky climbing thing he does with his tentacles! 2:19
This is perhaps the first time I have had the impression that the octopus is annoyed. Clearly he wants to eat the frog.
"Oh, look. A weird living thing. Let me try to eat it"
Froggy has a nice little setup. :) Good thing there's a wall between the octopus and him!
Frog: let's eat that juicy worm attached to the end of the big moving alien. Octopus: let's eat that juicy alien staring hypnotizingly a my tentacle tip.

"Wow! That looks tasty! Lemme at it! Ouch! Curse this glass! Hey, you, why don't you come in here for a visit? No? Nevermind. Just wait there, I'll come out! Damn, they've put a lid on the tank. How can I get to that snack? The glass is solid, not a crack anywhere. This is torture! I'll just head back to my house and try to forget about it."
I wonder if the octopus would have eaten the frog after tasting it with its tentacles? Of course I wouldn’t have wanted to see that but I’m curious. I just love octopuses and could watch them all day. Thank you for sharing.
That was really cool; super curious octopus. Can we try a cat again... with a lively cat?
The octopus is kept well fed so I wonder what would happen if the octopus was allowed to actually touch the frog. I'd also love to see an octopus reaction to being able to touch a cat!

I think the octopus is teasing the toad. “If I can’t eat it. I’m going to tease it demented “ hahaha then there’s no toad?
Wonder if the frog would have liked the smaller octopus eyeball home. Interesting neither were afraid.
Suggestion: See if it can be taught to move a block from the floor to an elevated "shelf" in order to receive a crab dinner. Or just show it a lava lamp if the other idea takes too long.
looks as appetizing as a soft shell crab.

Love it Thank you♥️✨
It is so fasinating to see that no matter what the octopus is protecting it's den. I just think it's a wonderful thing to see God's creator's are designed in in such awesome ways. Thank you Octolab for sharing your experiments on your octopus with all of us.
Not only does he mimic the frog/toad's face @2:20 he appears to poke fun at his short legs!
Octopus are so cool
That's a toad!
Love it!
Oh yeah! This particular octopus has had frog legs before and wants more! LOL
awesome commentary. the chance to trip out an octopus is RARE
Cool reactions!
Can't wait to see more instructional videos for the octopus.
Just throw Mr. Toad in there, see how he does..😄👍
I'm thinking the octopus was hoping for a toad snack. Since all toads are poisonous (for most humans there's little to no irritation from the poison secreted by their parotoid glands), that may pose an issue if he/she were to get ahold of it. :)
PUT IT IN !!!! lol
I have one question, how much is one octopus monthly maintenance?
Amazing video
Stupid forcefield! You win today, toadie. But... this... is... not... over.
Toad, not frog. Frogs have smooth skins. Anyway, it was nice to see how interested the toad was in its neighbor.
Nice!
To think how an Octopus would React to a "Gas Mask".
So, could this be described as predatory behavior by the octopus?
mutual fascination.
I want the frog in the tank with the octopus.
Id like to see a test to see if the octopus would crawl out of the tank to get the frog if the frog were placed up top and had a pond on the far side and a "lake" on the other where the octopus could get to him but it's like a foot of dry land between. See if the frog would wonder into the octopus or if the octopus would climb up to get him. Or if he'd use his tentacles as bait then snatch him in.
Thank you!! ❣❤😄
So close and yet so far!
I dont think the octopus is looking for a buddy. I think he would like to taste him.
Octopus: Let's hang out! See, I'm literally hanging from my octo cave. Frog: Umm, well ... Octopus: Let me fold you in my capacious mantle. Frog: I really must be going now. Bye bye! Octopus:
Not encouraging any cruelty, but what about showing the octopus something that might eat him? A corvid, or a dog, or a raccoon, or some other large creature. Not that I want to see either get stressed out by the experience, just if size or demeanor communicate themselves through the glass.
I'm very surprised the frog showed no fear. Is there any record of an octopus eating a frow? Seems like they would.
someone wants frog legs...
Hey, love the channel and the video, but pretty sure that’s a toad, right?
2/3 of my fav animals. Can you include an orangutan next time for 3/3? 🤣
Do octopuses recognize people? Put your hand of 4/5 of you into the tank and wait the answer of the octopus, does he recognize all of you?
Sorry, no Frog Legs as an appetizer for you today. Yes, one restaurant I've been to does that, frog legs.
