If you don’t feel mad or disturbed in some way watching this baby try to escape the trap and scream from the pain and being terrified and desperately trying to get to it’s mother, then I don’t know what will. Literally gentle giants that need to be protected.

Well if Europeans ,from Spain, france, Britain, Portugal, Germany, denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands did not come to the dark skin continent and see the people, animals, land and resources and want it for themselves we wouldn't have this problem. The fact is its westernized government which is made up of European men who thinks that they should be the leader and be the solver of every men. When in truth you and your women is the cause of the original problems. Yet refused to see that but noe you want to blame the natives. While its white men selling the AK 47

My favorite animal on this planet is the gorilla, they're such gentle caring creatures, they look intimidating but gorillas will try to avoid violence at all cost and will fight only if it has absolutely no other choice. When I worked as a bush pilot in Uganda I had a pleasure of a wild baby gorilla which approached me and started climbing on my back, at that moment I thought I was dead because the mother went to the silverback to show him what I was doing but incredibly the silverback walked up to me and took the baby and gave it to the mother with zero aggression towards me and since then I fell in love with these beautiful apes. They're truly amazing but you have to see them live in their natural habitat to really appreciate these creatures, TV just doesn't do it justice compared to seeing them live.

after their babies start to reach the age when they no longer require their mother's milk, koalas will feed them a certain type of dung. This dung introduces a bacteria into their digestive system that aids in the breaking down of Eucaplyptus, a rather toxic plants to all but Koalas. This may be linked the the reason why gorillas eat their own dung. Beautiful animals! Thanks for the team who brought us this footage!

I'm not opposed to all hunting if it is a must to eat or if a species of game is over populated but not such high functioning mammals. I would go pheasant hunting but not duck hunting because I see that ducks are capable of much affection, even FRIENDSHIP. No I don't judge duck hunters, nor do I frown on it. Mine is a personal decision. However, species such as Dolphins, Gorilla, even whales, are so elite on an evolutionary scale, they are species I frown on hunting and am for the short term incarceration of such people.

Paula Johnson I don't think they attack often. Gorillas are extraordinarily peaceful for wild animals because they are intelligent, emotional, and social creatures and unless provoked, they have no reason to attack other animals unless they are a legitimate threat because they aren't after meat. I'm sure humans have been attacked, but likely because they were not mindful enough. There is more footage of humans directly interacting peacefully with wild gorillas than humans being attacked by them, which I haven't actually ever seen. I've seen them put on displays of their dominance just to let humans know they are not to be trifled with, but these actions are not with the intention of attacking unless that human isn't approaching mindfully and cautiously.

The ants also bite their mouth, tongue, throat and stomach so it is in fact a delicacy and they pay the price after such a find. Gorillas have been known to die as a result of overindulging in this rare treat. In fact there are some who suspect that Unumgutze died as a result of a plentiful ant colony.

It makes no sense that you value the lives of animals but not all humans. Hypocrisy. You're ok with killing certain humans but draw the line at gorillas?...I love gorillas & support harsh prison sentences for poachers but not death. Gorillas are priceless but not equal to a human life.

That's very short sighted. It's way better to make good money and give that money to people who are actually experienced in those matters. You would need years of training. This shit isn't as simple as getting a gun and camping in the forest for a bit. Try to find out what local organizations are actually working on protecting great Apes and try to support them with what you have. Stop romanticising these issues for your own virtue signaling. You are helping nobody by getting killed on your first day in the forest.

This appears to be a different Rafiki (there were 3 gorillas given that name). The first Rafiki lived on Bisoke in the 60's, the second on Mikeno in the 90's, and the third in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda. This would appear to be the second Rafiki. The Ugandan population is currently separated from other mountain gorillas.
