I love how real you were about the stress of balancing teaching, observations, family, and grad school work, especially if you are self critical!! I feel like I must be crazy taking courses and teaching full time! There is always always always something I should be doing and it makes me feel guilty if I drop the ball. I Iike to think that the fact that you care so much about constantly doing better makes you a great teacher, mother, student, wife, and person. You and your teaching inspire me every week to try to be better. ♥️

I love your vlogs in the classroom and at home. 7 or 8 minutes of the cutting and computer!?!? Ok. I'm sure you had a great lesson because you are connected to each students ability and preferred learning style.

You are an honest, smart, well planned, and passionate teacher. We are ALL so hard on ourselves, and that doesn't exclude YOU. You're probably doing so much better than you think. Breathe. You got this. 😊

Hi Bridget, don’tunderestimate your talent and worth as a teacher..I can be very self critical too, but I also have to remind myself to be my own cheerleader. It only goes to show how great you are because you work so hard to be the best you can be for your students. Don’t sell yourself short! It’s tricky to balance reflection and self-kindness, but if we are to really enjoy our awesome profession, it’s crucial. Otherwise, we’re not gonna thrive! From one self-critic to another, I gotcha girl. But don’t forget to remind yourself how amazing you are! P.S. Super cute. outfits :)

The chart looks like a great visual aid to help writers focus on a key area, remind them and instead of a display that takes ages you can update and change it easily. Great idea, makes me think about how I could adjust things in the classroom easily and quickly. Thank you

Thank you so much for your honesty. As another veteran teacher it’s refreshing in a weird way to hear that someone else whose been in this field awhile and does ALOT of extra amazing work (ie you Ms Bridget) also feels sometimes that they aren’t hitting their goals and not doing enough. I feel like that at least once a week

Never, ever sell yourself short! Do not give yourself any 2's! I did that too, until a truly developing teacher who had poor classroom management, and was a hot mess gave herself 3's and received them from the principal, and I got 2's because I sold myself short!!!! I will never do that again - please don't! I know you are not a 2!!

Hi Bridget! I have been watching you for a long time. I am on Christmas Break right now and I am catching up on all the vlogs I have missed since October! At the end of this video, I heard you say how you were stressing out and not being the best teacher you could be. You are a wonderful teacher, you do so much for your students and I love watching you week after week. I do however understand what you are saying. I think this year has been the most stressful year yet for me. I began the school year so excited to be part of a new opportunity at my school and now in December I feel as if I have been slacking as a teacher. In September I entered a classroom similar to yours, I live in Canada and we call them POD classes, not MAC classes. I was teaching in a room with grade 4, 5 and 6 students. It has been rough. You are so lucky you have a team that supports you and works together. It is December and beginning in January, I will be leaving the pod to teach grade 4 on my own. Being in the pod, I felt limited to what I could do, what I wanted to do or even limited to the amount of fun I could have with my class. I wasn't able to collaborate with like-minded teachers, which ultimately lead to me leaving the pod. I feel defeated. It is so difficult to break teachers away from the old. It is hard to implement new fun innovative learning! How do you guys co-plan, co-teach and co-learn!? What does planning look like with you? I felt as if it was always a battle of who was right and wrong. Maybe it was a personality thing, and that's why it didn't work? I'm curious about your team dynamic. Do you see eye to eye? How do you manage your differences in teaching ideas and styles? Id love to talk and get your insight on this. Anyway, I just wanted to say you are an awesome teacher and its always a pleasure watching and learning from you.

So I just binge watched most of your videos on this channel today. We teach different subjects but it was like planning with a friend the whole time! I hope your week is awesome. I like the OoTD because I get into a slump sometimes too and it’s nice to see what others wear as inspiration. Keep doing what your doing!

There are some fun things out there that are related to John Henry. There is a Spongebob SquarePants episode which is a spoof of the story. You could also look up the comic book character Steel from DC Comics. He uses a large hammer. Take care.

OOTD is the thing they are not teaching me in college right now that I needed to learn! It helps so much for finding ways to dress for practicum and next semester as a student teacher that are professional yet comfortable.

First, you should reflect and no, we're not perfect, but you, my dear, are not a 2 ( needs imorovement) type of teacher. Sorry I am not having it. You should not be stressing about that Brigette. Enjoy the weekend. I think the grad work is stretching you thin and then when you add youtube on top......its too much!! Rest up and cut something out...sad to say it should probably be youtube.

Hi Bridget! I was wondering if you Conference with your students now, like you did with your Kinders? Do you keep data folders that the students use in tracking their learning? Is this part of the mass customized learning? Thank you for everything! You don’t have to answer my questions if there’s a website or other video you can point me in the direction of, I would super appreciate it! Hope you are having a great week!
