OBS GMT400 Rear Ground Strap Replacement
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video I show the replacement of the rear fuel filler grounding strap on my 1998 Chevy K1500 with the 350ci engine. This replacement procedure should be identical or very similar to most 1988 and up GMT400 platform vehicles. Be sure to like, share and subscribe for more upcoming OBS Chevy adventures!

Thank you for fixing that. Started watching the 1st video after a small breakfast and 2 large extra strong cups of coffee. So I was very twitchy when you bypassed the filler neck and grounded the already grounded bed. Loudly repeated "No! No! No! 's" were uttered.
Awesome video brother 👌🏼
Takes a big man to admit that he is wrong....I am not that big man. Good job...way to readjust and fix the problem. Looks good. Cheers!
Hi, the goal of that ground I believe is as a static spark pathway. :) thank you for making this

That was a great fix. 😁. Some viewers are very keen on spotting things. Keep up the videos. I prefer Saab related ones. 😊
Ha,ha, that was a fun video.😊 I knew someone else was going to say something😊
Much better😊😊
Star washers sure are nice
You didn’t clean of the rust and treat it afterwards. Glad you put on that anti-seize
When I detached my filler neck today it straight fell out of the gas tank. Whoever played with the pump or tank last didn't put a hose clamp where the filler hose met the actual tank?!
I would recommend using a ground strap washer instead of a flat washer so it has some "bite" for better ground.

Good tip, thanks for sharing!
Is there a grounding strap that has one location under the battery? Said by 1Aauto, thatbit affects the abs system
Would this cause youre fuel pump to stay on I just found out my ground is cut
the ground strap under the fuel cap what does this one do exactly?
7:42 you are screwing those 2 bolts to the fuel filler neck, connecting it to the body. connecting the grounding strap to one of those bolts is sufficient without disassembling the entire housing like you did. remove one screw, find some washers and a nut to fit the back side and connect the ground strap
I’m having an issue on my 96 where it will run for a while; once I try to restart it there is no crank. Battery is good and the alternator is new. Would the rear ground strap impact this issue?
