In the talking/gameplay overlay, what do I do if I want to add 2 more face cams besides my own? I’ll delete the chat box but how do I add 2 more cam spaces? I don’t see that option inthe stream elements overlay. I could add 2 more cams in OBS but it won’t have the frames around the two new cams

You go into the overlay on streamelements, find the element you want to change on the left where all of them are listed, click on it, then look below all of them and you should see settings and other options. I show quickly how to do it with the alert box (check the chapter markers), but instead of the alert box you would just click the subscriber box or member box etc...

Hello! What a video! Can I still be able to add my display capture in the gaming section even if I play on console?

As long as you have your console hooked up to a graphics card (and I believe HDCP or whatever it is also has to be off, at least on ps4/5) then you should be able to open obs, add a video capture device and then select your capture card. Resize it then follow all the steps in this video. I have multiple tutorials on how to setup a basic obs so follow that. Then follow the free overlays tutorial. If you dont have a capture card allowing your console to send video to the pc, you cant use obs, which is what this whole video is based on. Did that help?

No problem! As for your next question. Thats not how it works. Twitch does NOT send encode your feed then send it to obs on your laptop then send it back to twitch. OBS is meant to be used BEFORE your feed gets to Twitch. Twitch is the endpoint. Think of the flow like this. PS5 -> capture card -> obs (on laptop) -> twitch (final destination) PS5 -> twitch app (final destination) Those are the only two routes for console users I am sorry.

Yes I believe so. You could also just not include those sources in your brb scene to begin with and that would be functionally the same.

If you mean the alerts and features of the overlays then there should be a section on the left when you are in the streamelements overlay that has music options. Sound effects and such that come with it should be in one of the elements after you click on them.

How do you add starting stream and stream ending to a stream deck?

You can link up OBS to Streamdeck via a free official streamdeck store plugin, or you can set a key on stream deck and then go into OBS and designate that key in the hot key section under switch scene to [whatever you call your scenes].

does it work for sites like kick or only what i connected it with? like i signed up with my twitch does it only work on twitch now?

I have not tried it on kick however, the general idea is that these overlays are based on browser sources, so in theory you should be able to follow the steps and see.

You should be able to in the streamelements overlay on the left side. You need to find the element or label you are looking for and then the text should be editable. If you look at my newer OBS Free overlay video the steps should be even easier to follow. Here is that video. Hi so idk if you can help me I wanted overlays but I didn’t know if it was possible for ps4 I don’t stream with pc but apparently I can I was told I can go to creator dashboard > extensions > overlay expert > free samples But I bought an overlay and now I want to upload it instead of using the samples and now I don’t know how to upload it And what sucks even more is I don’t have photoshop so I need something free and I really need help is there anyway you can guide me? Yes I have a laptop

In order to stream a console using your laptop with a custom overlay you need an external capture card and OBS. I have plenty of tutorials on how to set up overlays in OBS. As far as I know, streaming directly from a console gives you very limited options in what you are able to do. Hope this makes sense.

As for photoshop, I dont know of any free alternatives that can open psd files (photoshop project files). You can create basic overlays in canva which is free and there is a more advanced photoshop alternative called Affinity but its a one time fee and I dont know if it can open psd. Google is your best friend for this part of it.

Thank you for commenting. Can you delete all instances of your camera source and try again? Could it be that its buried under other sources? Did you open 2 OBS instances or just one? Sometimes the capture card method only lets one application use the camera at a time.

Hey Mack! Good question, the moment you tagged was just a safety reminder for people to save if they messed with stuff in order for the changes to appear on their OBS screen. You didn't miss anything don't worry. I also did not go into great detail about all the changes you could do in this video because there is a lot of options. Maybe in another video I could mess around with those overlays more.

Once you go live the overlays will already be there. Everything in your sources that has the eyeball will be visible when you stream

You should be able to go to the left side where all the elements of the overlay are and delete everything you don't want minus the video box. Hope that helps, sorry for the late response.

Not yet I believe. It will only work when you are able to login with your kick account. The same steps would apply when it does though so be sure to save this video if you need it in the future. I will eventually update this tutorial.

Can you both explain your issue in detail? Have you updated OBS to the newest version? The reason I ask is, I have done multiple videos using the same method and it works like clockwork. So there must be something a little different going on than streamelements messing up.

They should stay working. They are not built with the intention of breaking immediately. Maybe try keeping the web pages open when streaming, and expirement with the browser source settings for each overlay in obs. There might be an auto refresh option or something similar.

I see that I linked my twitch account to obs studio, but when I run twitch, none of the overlays or anything show up? am I doing something wrong?

The overlays are on your obs scenes not twitch. Make sure you added the scenes like I did and that they currently appear in OBS. Its no different than if you were to put a picture on the screen. All twitch does is take the feed you send to it. Twitch cannot disable your in OBS overlays if that makes sense. Sorry for the late reply. You just simply go to the overlay editor (like I show in the video a few times), choose one of the overlays you want to edit, select the camera box, and move it. Once done, hit save in the top right and you should be all good!

As you follow the steps and load in an overlay there should be no duplicates. It might show that way on my screen because I have 2 OBS instances running at the same time to record what I am doing.

Bit late here sorry! You should be able to eliminate any element on the overlays by going to the bar on the left and deleting the elements of the overlay. One of them should be called webcam border or something similar.
