I find it fascinating that, after coming back from the battle between Obito and Darth Vader, one big difference is how the Star Wars combatants handled Genjutsu. Seeing the illusion of Padme's face under Obito's mask was enough to make him recoil, while Obiwan was able to ground himself to dispel the illusion.

One was raised by monks from his early childhood, and watched a demon kill his master, only for him to kill that demon himself. The other was a slave until the age of ten, only to be forced into the burden of being the chosen one, watch his mother die in a constant stream of visions, and witness his wife die. Obi-wan always had nothing to lose except his own life, while Anakin would have sacrificed himself in a heartbeat to not lose anything else.

Get the kids young, too young to really have attachments to others, and raise them to reject those attachments and those children will be very resistant to the dark side. Not perfectly, sure. But way better than someone like Anakin who craved attachments.

Just because they can both use their powers, doesn’t mean they can counter all of each other’s powers. So Obi-Wan can still use the Force while Kakashi can’t counter it, and Kakashi can use Genjutsu while Obi-Wan can’t counter it. Kakashi easily wins with Genjutsu because Obi-Wan has literally no idea how to break Genjutsu

I just realized that Obi-Wan cutting Kakashi from the waist down is a reference to his defeat of Maul and Anakin in similar fashions. Neat

This battle is so dope because it forces two chill characters who typically avoid direct single conflict into an all out brawl. They really do mirror each other so we’ll in many ways it’s crazy. Both masters who have seen their fair share of death but still stay to a strict moral code, but are willing to forego that code to bring down their apprentice who fell from grace. They also battle a rival who betrayed their people in a misguided attempt to bring peace to the world/galaxy. Wtf

They kind of cherry pick stats in all of these but still fun to watch. Like Kakashi kept up with naruto and obito so he should be light speed as well. But they kind of took kakashi before the war arc which would definitely make him weaker than obi wan. And they pick obito with the 10 tails which actually makes it kind of a stomp for obito. EVen without the 10 tails obito vs vader would be close.

@@userasdf Tbf they also didnt pick the strongest version of vader and low balled the vader they did pick. Also i dont think Light speed would have helped Kakashi much since Jedi with enough mastery of the force view Ships using a Hyperdrive (which gets the ship faster than light speed and shoved in a different dimension) as going in slow motion. My current view of this is if the animation mattered than Kakashi probably would have won if he used Kamui after the genjutsu instead of Chidori, but if the animation doesnt matter than realistically Obi won would just force implode Kakashi before he could react since fighting someone with what is basically Omnipresent and Omniscient Telekinesis with Auto aim and future sight is nigh impossible.

Alright, Ill just flat out say it... Obito is leagues stronger than Kakashi. Esp once you include the Rinnegan. There hasn't been a death battle won with just the Mangekyo Sharingan. The Rinnegan is just OP. I'm pretty sure that whatever is being omitted is just useless discussion because at the end of the day, they're all pretty close battles.

Is Anybody Gonna Mention How They Had Obi-Wan Speak Entirely In Prequel Quotes?

To be fair, Grievous's armor was designed to compensate for inward pressure (starship weapons, planet busters, etc), but Obi-wan may have needed significantly less strength to pull it open, much like how RL spaceships are designed to contain atmospheric pressures but are quite vulnerable to external pressure, or how deep-sea fish distort when brought to the surface. Still, very amusing battle.

Jiraiya's books are available everywhere and Kakashi has already read them all. The only book Kakashi wouldn't throw away is the is the rare early copy that Nauto gave him at the beginning of Shippuuden. It's probably autographed if Jiraiya gave it to Naruto first.

I saw match it was rigged kakashi didn't use all he could do and dude a genius tactical he never fights up close it useually a clone etc didnt even use lightning dog and why is he already hurt when obi wan didn't attack the real one plus didn't use all his jutsus and summoning also obi wan should have died from an electric clone not even mace windu could survive this match is bs bad writing also it obviously rigged because may 4th mad bias plus kakashi would kept sending clones nor would obi wan be able to escape genjtsu his worst fear would not have been darth vader but maul killing his lover again etc

So I got a bit curious during my wait for Darth Vader vs Obito and decided to do a rough speed calculation on that feat at 16:17 involving launching a fleet of star destroyers out of a solar system in seconds. The comic states that they were launched half the distance of the system they were in, so using our own solar system as a reference would mean they were launched at least 90 billion miles, or 143.5 billion kilometers. That in and of itself is insane, but they were also launched that distance in the span of seconds. It’s not explicitly specified how many seconds it took, just that it only took seconds. So let’s be safe and lowball this feat *hard* by assuming it took 30 whole seconds to do this. Dividing the distance by 30 would give us the distance they covered every second, around 3 billion miles/4.8 billion kilometers, multiplying that by 60 gives us the distance each minute, and multiplying that by 60 again gives us the distance each hour, a whopping 10.7 trillion miles/17.2 trillion kilometers. Every. Hour. And finally, by dividing that by the speed of light, 670 million miles/1.1 billion kilometers per hour, that gives us our speed. Which means that these star destroyers, using the lowballed timeframe of 30 seconds, were being pushed at around *16,000 times faster than light!* While this was the absolute limit of Dorsk, the Jedi that performed the feat, and ended up killing him, keep in mind that this feat was performed by a Jedi Knight, which would absolutely pale in comparison to Jedi Masters and Sith Lords like Obi-Wan and Darth Vader who are far more skilled and powerful in the Force.

@@hyde4709 If you use light speed statements for characters like Orochimaru and the Raikage then you could get Kakashi to baseline lightspeed at best, but that’s about it. The same goes for Obito’s base form, and Obito with the Ten Tails would likely be way higher, but there’s no specific number on how much of an increase that is. Even if you highball it and say it increases his speed by 100x, that means his best is only 100x faster than light, which still means that Obito at his best is 160x slower than Obi-Wan and Darth Vader at their worst, while Kakashi would be 16,000x slower.

This is an incredibly good battle that feels completely out of character for both participants

We always underestimate how rediculously powerfull the Jedi actually are. Because we watch the story of Star Wars from their point of view. Thats why droids, Stormtroopers and clones appear so weak to us, the viewers. Despite how absolutely deadly they actually are. Jedi are not just space Wizards. They are effectivly a group of "chosen ones" from all over the galaxies. The most powerfull beings of their species and homes. Aside of other jedi. Thats why the jedi order was so stricked, but also ultimativly, why it collapsed.

Can we also talk about how they stupidly think that Kakashi would use a joke technique in a serious fight to the death? He would have shoved a kunai with an explosive not on it up his ass rather than his fingers and I'm pretty sure Obi-wan can't survive what is essentially a point blank grenade explosion. They also have Obi using the force like he's Star-Killer(Galen Marek) from The Force Unleashed who uses the Force to crush Tie Fighters and rip star destroyers out of orbit like it's nothing.

@Sup cutting off limbs was seen aggressive and cruel, but was as an acceptable form of disarming an opponent without needing to killing them. The forbidden part comes down to necessity. For example, lets say Anakin didnt behead duku, he still broke the code by severing both of his hands, not just the lightsaber wielding one.

So can the force manipulate fire or can’t it? I read that Mandalorians used flamethrowers because Jedi couldn’t do anything to it. I get that in Death Battle the battle has to be forced to happen but I think Kakashi and Obi Wan both would have spent more time trying to analyze the abilities of each other. Also Kakashi never using substitution jutsu and just clones was odd to see. If EMS 2 Kakashi was used it definitely would have mixed things up a bit. Kamui shuriken are super broken and it woulda been interesting to consider how Obi Wan would try to use the force to counter it.

As far as I know, they don't possess pyrokinesis, but they can create a barrier with the Force to defend against fire. Mandalorian flamethrowers are more handy for taking Jedi by surprise and not being blockable by lightsabers.

The thing about the black hole stuff? It's a tiny artificial black hole, not a full and proper black hole. Even in the EU, they actually *fight* only moderately higher than the movies. If you want to find a feat of a Jedi, say, running at mach speed, you won't find one in the whole EU! And people like the Fetts and other peak humans fight and occasionally even beat Jedi and Sith, and not inconsiderable ones. One can make an image of an EU Uber Force User by pick and chosing quotes, but if you read the fights the quotes actually come from, you'll normally find that it's way more modest.

When you realize this came out 4 years ago today....

I know it wouldn't have mattered that much, but Kakashi can open the first of the eight inner gates. If he's really going all out no holds barred that is pretty much anything he can do in a physical sense plus 80%.
