SW Universe prolly has the tech to re-attach severed limbs. We see people get artificial limbs all the time. I would imagine it was normal for Bounty Hunters to get limbs hacked when hunting Jedi or Sith during the Old Republic days.

Boba Fett sealing his own wound with a lightsaber is such an incredible detail. It feels true to his character and makes the fight more grisly.

@@ZenoDLC it’s hard to use it in a fight because it basically has no weight and the force allowed for easier and more effective use. Others can use them, ur never as well and never as safely.

I'd like to think the tribe that the Yautja was from, documented Boba's Mandalorian symbol as the mark of a worthy foe. The tribe elder probably would've bestowed Boba with an honorary symbol of their tribe too.

The predator species is basically another version of the Trandoshans (Bossk being a famous example); Boba has plenty of experience dealing with them.

A common misconception about the Predator's thermal vision is that their helmet gives to to them. But their helmet just focuses their own poor thermal vision enough for them to properly see, which is why they take it off to fight a worthy prey

Personally I don't see Boba being able to block any predator strikes due to strength disparity. Think lightweight vs heavyweight. Sure the armor keeps penetrating rounds at bay but the predator could literally rip his limbs off if he wanted to.

He wouldve returned to the ship and bombarded the whole zone killing him on the spot or waiting for bobba to fly away and killing him from a safe distance. Remember a top experienced predator is not also a top warrior but a seasoned strategist because he has nothing else too proof and it is too old to be rash and hothead warrior... In other words, experienced predators dont need to fight to beat the enemy and that is clearly stated in the old comics

Facts!!

If I recall, from the old books, predators trained on the Xenomorph warriors. They were, one on one, considered starter prey. Tough and fast, but very predictable. A Queen, on the other hand, was a fight for a whole group or tribe. Where they might win, but expected to take heavy losses. However, the greatest foe to fight was the "Oomans". Humans were the prey you had to work up to to be allowed to go hunt them. They were, physically, weak and small. But were considered to be the trickiest, most innovative, adaptable, and resilient prey in the universe. It astounded the predators that a race so small and fragile could be such a threat when provoked. So they were accorded the, dubious, honor of being considered the most worthy foes. Only the seasoned warriors were permitted to go hunt them. And human trophies were prized.

Don't forget, that there has been a Yautja that has hunted an Engineer, I think that's their name. Now while they were shown as peaceful and somewhat aggressive at times they fear Xenos which Yautja hunt, granted Yautja know they are physically weaker than them, yet one has killed an engineer.

Xeno Queens were expected to be a fight for a tribe, but on the rare occasion where they were killed by a single or small group of predators it was an almost unbelievable honor. Even a 1 on 1 fight with a queen is terribly unfair for a pred, mostly because, just like humans, queens can think and plan to a degree much higher then standard drones and warriors, allowing them to plan and adapt.

In one of the Alien vs Predator comics it’s mentioned that Yautja consider humans(at that point in time) to be among the most dangerous creatures they’ve encountered, that only the most veteran Yautja are allowed to hunt. And the humans in that setting are worse equipped and far less skilled than the Starwars counterparts Edit: I should say that the comic never clarified why this is. It could just be that the Yautja want to avoid a full-scale war with humanity.

Predator's mask has the heat vision not his regular eyes. The predator I guess they used as a example was the one in 2010 but even then I'm sure that built in heat vision is for very few predators

The plasma scythe is a rarely used weapon though, mainly given to older, more famed yautja. A hunter facing Boba would probably have a more average arsenal as well as maybe some personal weapon (like the whips from the AvP2 hunter) but the scythe is highly unlikely.

That result makes sense. Half the reasons the "dishonorable" trickster characters lose involve 1) considerably less power, 2) personal arrogance, and/or 3) plot armor. How many times do the good guys win because they "get lucky"? (In its worst form, also known as Deux ex Machina or pulling a good guy win out of the writer/producer's rear end.)

Well thermal vision cannot see a predator cloak or his cold blood and with all that fire he woulda changed vision and moved away it must of been unexperienced or DeathBattle did not do there research :) have a great day Im a fan of both but i gotta say they shoulda known you cannot see a Yautja with thermal vision there a big part of predator to where they mention that. Also he didn't change his Vision they have like 20 different vison modes. including just seeing movement. Uv and so much more.

One thing that wasn't implemted in the fight was the fact that a lightsaber burns way hotter than regular fire. In the Predator's vision we saw the lightsaber as pure white which is accurate, but the Predator would have been able to see the lightsaber surrounded by the fire even if it couldn't see Boba Fett.

I had just watched a video on another channel with a similar match up, The Mandalorian (Din Djarin) vs Predator, while I would love to see your take on that I believe the outcome would be about the same, but I think you did a better job covering the background of both combatants.

In an arena honour duel, especially upclose, the predatorwould have won easily. But in a battle for life or death, Boba was just equipped for much more dangerous opponents than the Predator was. Plus, Bona was way more adaptive and observative in figuring out any potentual weakness. While the Predator mostly would just try to measure up and overcome its "prey"s skill and strength with its own.

it should also be noted that one of Boba's common rivals is Bossk. A character very similar to the predator in many ways. While a predator is certainly smarter than Bossk the way that they fight is almost identical down to the claws and thermal vision. The only practical difference is that the predator uses cloaking technology that you guys were quick to dismiss as Fett's visor beats it. Considering how often Boba fett defeats Bossk both in and out of canon and how the fights are so much of a joke that Fett doesn't bother killing bossk because he represents so little of a threat I think this fight should have been over much sooner. Considering the variety of super human aliens that fill the star wars galaxy fighting a Yautcha is just a tuesday to Fett.

They literally composited Predator throughout the movies, comics, and games. Nice lying though, especially with the logic that a non-blooded hunter having a Plasma Scythe though. And, uh, hate to break it to you, but if your point was against the animation, I will have to remind you that an animation is not an actual simulation of how a fight would go down. It uses things that a character has, but it is not a 100% simulation that depicts how a fight would go down for sure.

DB actually forgot to mention something important from Predator lore: They consider the Xenomorphs, aka Kiande Amedha, or "Hard Meat," to be what they blood their young warriors on. They consider Humans, aka Pyode Amedha / "Soft Meat," to be one of their greatest challenges. Yeah, they consider modern humans scarier than a hive of bugs, and Fett's gear is way gnarlier than the stuff the Predators would have had to face when we earned that reputation.

I thought the third movie was forgettable, and I didn't end up watching the fourth. But this next one coming out, Prey, actually kind of seems it might be good. It has them hunting some native american people (what's with calling things prey and having them be about native americans fighting aliens..?) Anyway, it'll be interesting to see how they portray that, how humans might have got a reputation like that without modern weaponry. Though I truly don't see how humans can be seen as more difficult to hunt than the Xenomorphs... I guess the intelligence to build traps and have projectile weapons, but it's not like the Xenomorphs aren't capable of learning simple things.

I mean, it makes sense. Xenomorphs are absolutely terrifying, but they're insects. They fight with natural weapons, using their instincts. They're predictable. You give a hunter the right training and gear, and the hunter will always win, barring some third variable. Humans? Most of us will go down without a fight, but most of us aren't worth hunting. But human action hero types? Unpredictable. Our technology may be inferior to theirs, but it's OURS, they don't know what a given device will do or how it will be used just from looking at it, and it only takes one mistake to end up dead or wounded.

@@piercelindenberg8156 yes, because Samus would win. Hard. It's just rough because it's not even a skill issue, it's a power issue. Samus's power suit could likely tank a blast from a thermal detonator. Her weaponry includes explosives with just as much punch (if not more) than Boba's anti-vehicle missile, and in much wider variety. They're both very skilled fighters, but out of the suit, too, Samus had a Goku-style higher-gravity training-montage as her life, AND she underwent extensive surgery altering her DNA to make her faster and stronger at base. It's a mismatch for poor Boba Fett. He just gets stomped. I honestly wish we could get more Death Battles that are closer fights. Way too many of them are like... RIDICULOUSLY stacked from the start.

But it does mean it is part of his arsenal, especially as he has multiple in his collection, so he can use it. No different from how they gave Predator an entire arsenal of weapons that it wouldn't be able to carry all at once, but they all would be considered.

Even if he didn't have one, it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Boba has so many meaningful advantages from his armor alone that this fight wouldn't even come down to a melee fight at all in many scenarios. His sensors counter stealth, his armor stops most of Pred's arsenal dead, his flamethrower still messes with Yautja thermal vision, and his jetpack and huge array of ranged weapons means Fett can fight at any range he pleases.

@jonsouth1545 Death Battle has repeatedly stated that the animations in their shows are purely for entertainment and not necessarily representative of how a given fight would play out. In many scenarios, Pred wouldn't even get into melee range due to Boba's jetpack.

Death battle brings what Disney can’t, lore accurate and badass boba fight scene that everyone loves to watch and roots for every second

I had a feeling that Boba Fett's willingness to fight dirty would be what gave him the edge over the honorable Predator, but this was such a close match that I was low-key prepared to be wrong.

Actually, I doubt Boba would fight dirty. Remember that meeting with Vader? He specifically said, no disintegration, and Boba complied. Besides that, he refused to shoot that clone trooper in season 2 of Clone Wars.

The Fire blindness bit was my favorite as it shows Boba’s intelligence. He likely could tell the Predator could almost track him and figured out it’s use of infrared vision when the Predator lost sight of him

The Predator should have treated this like a extermination/cleanup not a hunt. This would of made more sense in the theme of death battle if the Predator wasn't held back by its code.

One of the things that confused me about the predators are they never made some kind of counter against fire knowing if their enemies figure out they're more likely dead

This is really an interesting fight, when you consider that Yautja would really make for one hell of an addition to the Star Wars universe, which is already full of interesting (and very deadly) aliens. Predators would fit right in. They'd be like Wookies without the fur, and with extremely advanced technology; but, like was shown, Star Wars has a lot of tech that can easily match it.

I find their lack of consistency disturbing. Two episodes ago, they said they couldn't give Tetsuo the edge over Magneto he would have in the anime, because the anime was different from the manga so shouldn't count. Well if that's the case, then they should've only used Legends Boba Fett, or Disney canon Boba Fett. Not both

Pfft. Not really. Predator can't even take out a simple LAPD cop let alone a futuristic clone made super soldier with beskar armor. I'm sorry, but the predator movies, comics, and games are real fun, but lets be real human heroes have a really good track record at messing the predator up.

Win or loss, I just appreciate how the Predator saved the lines of their prey to try and flex on them later on the hunt. Pretty boss.

This is my observation: did you know that a xenomorph like specimen can be found in the Star Wars comics? It is believed by many fans that xenomorphs are canonical to the SW universe. If so, then perhaps Predator is within the SW universe, which would mean Earth exists in the SW universe. And yet, in the beginning of almost every SW movie, the quote displays before the movies begin: "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away."

I love the animation of the fights now, and this fight was actually a great match-up I enjoyed the whole way through

As soon as I saw that fiery battle ground, I knew the Yautja was done for. Also, while I accept the outcome, I'd just like to point out that Yautja don't specifically hunt only xenomorphs, as may have been pointed out in the results part. Anyways, Deathbattle is doing what Disney should have: a fight between it's franchises. Since we're doing this, can we expect a Xenomorph sometime in the future?

I don't think they were implying Predators only hunt Xenos, just that a Xeno is one of if not the toughest thing they go against. And not even a Xeno queen could contend with a competent Jedi, which is what they were going for. Boba's top prey outclasses Predator's, therefore Boba is experienced with tougher stuff than Predator.

@@DarkROSkull013 a better way it could have been put is like this. Every Yautja is know to have hunted at least one xenomorph. In their lifetime, individual Yautja could have hunted prey superior to Xenos but that would be going into individual predators and they went with a standard example.

The comment was about the "Strongest prey" Space Wizards vs Xenomorph being the toughest things the hunt. Surviving a fight with Vader or even just a decent Jedi is more of an accomplishment than killing even a Xenomorph queen. And Fett has defeated several of them. The average Xenomorph would likely not even be a major threat to some of the notable Clone or Storm Troopers. Let alone one of the best Bounty Hunters, Mandalorian's or Jedi/Sith. (Though outside of the Jedi/Sith I think only a handful of people could deal with experienced predators. Such as Boba or Cad Bane) That being said if the Predator's existed in the Star Wars canon, that'd be another story. They'd likely be MUCH stronger, and WAY more deadly. Just the awareness of Jedi/Sith alone would likely result in a VAST improvement to their weapons and armor. And god forbid one of them was force sensitive. xD

Ya know I can tell someone definitely knew how a quarter staff and or other staff like weapons work by how the predator used his weapon very fluently, but not so much for bobas weapon. Since technically with his technique of using it. Makes it easier to pass guard or bind up the weapon and counter attack with another weapon

Eh... It's never quite shown what type of sensors he uses. Star Wars has some exotic stuff that may or may not apply. The cloak isn't perfect. Fett could have motion sensors, for instance, that track air currents.

While im a big predator fan, predators have been shown to be regularly beaten, and easily outsmarted, by ordinary humans, who are nowhere near as skilled as boba fett, on numerous occasions in both the films and comics, so boba fett's victory was the more logical outcome.

Predator can see their own hand when cloaked, especially in the movies. Remember when it picked up that dead scorpion? I would take movie over game in canon.

There was one thing that everyone else here forgot about the predators vision. If you hadn’t taked off his mask and went for the killing shot with his site, I can guarantee you he would’ve won the fight. But when he took off his mask, and he saw nothing but flames that cloaked Boba it was over

Sometimes I wonder why Predators don't take off their self destruct system, strap it on their prey and run off themselves.

They did consider anime but if you think he would outmatch magneto no. I understand tetsuo gets stronger as it goes on without any limit but that just means it’s a similar scenario to hulk vs broly where hulk given enough time could over power broly but broly would start off way stronger.

I think it actually depends more on which predator they went with because each hunter prefers a type of arsenal and tactics. I really liked this battle even tho they didn't seem to research specific Yautja, which would be more fitting to have a named Yautja vs another named character, especially someone as cool as Boba Fett

perhaps they went with a younger generic blooded yautja rather than an elder because it would be a bit closer in scope skill wise? i dunno. Though, I do agree it would have been a bit more interesting for a named yautja. though I only know of Wolf/wolfe however you spell it :p (i believe that is the name) from avpr (pretty sure that is that hunter) and I haven't read any of the predator comics so I don't know if in the comics there is any story that follows a specific hunter for a significant amount of time for them to choose from

I think you guys need to stop using “laser dodging” as a feat for speed and reflexes. Moving out of the line of fire isn’t the same as dodging a bolt of light. Moving to not be in front of the barrel isn’t the same as avoiding a beam that’s already been fired at you.

@@javiereduardocarrillocastr6826 not necessarily in this case, though I would say that comic shot of the Pred dodging after the other one said “die” is sus to me. Examples that comes to mind are Samurai Jack dodging a beam of light that was moving along the ground, or Link dodging blasts from Beamos statues and Guardians that make a ton of noise while charging up before firing.

In one of the predator movies someone tried to trick them using fire to overwhelm their thermal vision, so they just switched the settings in their helmet and could see fine. I really wanted that to be implemented here.

@@scottlemiere2024 Well, more specifically, that didn't happen here because the predator's helmet was already destroyed before the fire came into play. I think the end result was fair. Out of 100 matches between Boba and a predator, Boba would probably win about half of them if he survives the initial attack. Since it wouldn't be much of a death battle if one of the contestants died to the first attack, we can probably assume that they would rule out those instances from the equation. That means this battle could go either way, but Boba is almost guaranteed to win if he survives long enough to find a weakness he can exploit, as other humans have managed to do the same with significantly fewer options in their arsenal. I was honestly expecting Boba to die with the predator in the self-destruct explosion, as I think that would have been a more fitting end.

People debating this as one of the worst sith regarded him as worthy opponent. He disabled like skywalker. He captured a rebel general. He’s optimistic, manipulative, “honorable” however he’s ruthless and cheats. Predators are honorable. They live to a code. Boba fett is closer to a sociopath. Predators are antihero’s that live to hunt for honor.

There really is a special feel to see Boba Fett surviving the explosion and walk towards his ship with triumphant music playing in the background. After over 11 years of being Death Battle's first ever loser, he has finally emerged victorious.

I never knew I needed to see a Yautja fight Boba Fett. I mean I just saw Boba no scope the Yautja that was in the air behind him, not even needing to fully turn to see due to his 360 vision. Then Boba later cauterized his own wound with a lightsaber, what a badass.

When Death Battle finally returns (and I know that they will), we need: Willow Rosenberg vs Hermione Granger. Buffy vs Jessica Jones, Kim Possible, Captain Carter, Xena Warrior Princess or Wynona Earp. Faith Lehane vs Elektra Natchios & Spike vs Blade!

In all honesty, I'm actually super stoked for this fight. I don't think I've been this excited for a Death Battle since Batman vs. Iron Man. I think the main reason is I've just always wanted to see a Predator (Yautjia) hunting some of my favorite Star Wars characters. I mean, whats a better hunt for a space faring trophy hunter born into a race of warriors obsessed with honoring his people through hunting and killing the most dangerous beings in the galaxy than an intergalactic space wizard that has a glow sword that can cut through almost anything and can move things with their mind?! Or better yet, another race of warrior people that also have highly advanced armor and equipment that are similarly obsessed with bringing honor to their "clan".

I’d say only Zatana vs Scarlet was up for debate but even then once you realised one was focused and one was unstable then it becomes obvious. Using boba vs an unknown predator already set this DB result in check. I miss the uncertain battles like future Spider-Man vs future Batman.

not really, this one was pretty forced. I love Boba but the entire situation was based on that the predator doesn't assassinate a target that has no means of finding it. Predators also rarely attack with the plasma caster first, you know, given that they are assassins. It's their big gun

So what you're telling me is that the Predator is basically Bossk...

This fight makes sense because it shows the detail of Boba Fett's helmet being able to detect the Predator and however the two are both great in combat so the two are evenly matched however I like how calm Boba is.

Boba climbing a tree with one arm and no jetpack in full view of an opponent that can see thermal was ridiculous. Not to mention predator stabbing through the tree instead of just lighting it up with the plasma caster. Nice animation though.

Keep in mind, the animated clips of the fights are just hypothetical scenarios of how the fight would go, and shouldn’t be taken too seriously. They, the folks at Death Battle, run their data to see who would win, then make the clips soley for the sake of entertainment.

Regardless of my opinion of the outcome, this fight was brilliantly animated and a fantastic watch as a Predator fan! Great job guys

Yeah the animation in my opinion was rlly good like this is probably one of my favourite death battles and I’m not even kidding, sorry about ur loss predator fan but glad we can both agree this was a good battle

Meh...i feel like its a step back from the latest death battles, the pacing was off and it felt like alot of the set abilitys both characters had were just flung out at every second thinking it would make the scene seem cool, their wasn't any real focus on some of the abilities to make it feel more intense

It... really was not good. Pacing was horrendous, it felt less like a battle and more like they did a checklist of abilities and how they might counter each other, and... Did you see the thermal bomb explosion? It looked like they took a video of an explosion and just put it on top of the scenery. I wonder if the animators were pressed for time, because this is one of the worst ones to date.

This battle actually had me on the edge of my seat, I was all “neck and neck” ultimate space warriors going head to head.

The way I analyzed this fight was based from the things Boba has defeated or survived vs the things a high ranking predator has defeated and scaled it from there.

Boba Fett’s whole profession is hunting people & aliens….. ⛓️👽⛓️ He wins all day

What this comes down to, in my opinion, is preferred engagement distance. Boba's arsenal is very much designed to be used at mid-long ranges. His blasters, missiles, grenades, flamethrowers, etc., all show this. His melee weapons are fairly standard and although he can hold his own in close-quarters fight, it typically just amounts to not dying rather than actually winning. A predator's arsenal is the opposite. They focus on melee and close quarters fighting more than anything else. From wrist blades to knives to staves, their weapons are specialised to fight enemies up-close, and are very versatile. The plasma scythe for example can cut through most armored opponents with easy, so Boba's armour wouldn't help much either. They also have ranged attacks, but their most effectives ones are typically middle range thrown weapons. Their true long range weapons are pretty basic all things considered, and are relatively weak in comparison. It is likely the plasma caster would be unable to penetrate Boba's armour at all. They can kill at a distance, yes, but they have far more experience in melee. Their tools mostly just counter each other and level the playing field. Neither has an advantage in this regard that could change the outcome. For example, the predator can use thermal vision, but Boba's flamethrowers and explosives would disrupt that, so the predator would be better off using something else. So, in a death battle Boba would take the victory because whoever can kill the other first is going to be based, more often than not, on who has the better ranged attacks as this means a much faster kill. Boba can just play keep away and score kill after kill without needing to get close. If he does get caught in a melee, the predator's experience and versatile weapons will get the edge. Boba may carry a lightsaber, but it is unlikely he'd be able to land a hit against a predator with centuries of combat experience specifically against melee opponents, while the predator would be able to kill him relatively easily. But with no real counter against Boba's ranged attacks or strong enough ranged attacks to match him, the predator is, in all likelihood, going to lose before he can close the distance.

A big question in melee would be if the predator would be able to know they can't block an attack from the lightsaber. It's still weighted to Boba in melee due to his armor actually meaning something, where the predator's is useless.

I don’t think the flamethrower would actually counter heat vision. Boba would just be cooler than the flames around him - he would still stand out just as much.

I think that if Boba faced a much more experienced predator, like one of the elders or just a more experienced predator in general, he would most definitely have lost.

@@swaglevi4315 Yep, the leader will only come under these circumstances, the elders will possibly come in the leaders place. But the AVP Predator we seen was the leader of the whole collective. In the movies, only one human was shown to be worthy of holding the title Yatja warrior. In the comics, it's the same.

@@swaglevi4315 It's a guarantee he met an elder or the actual leader. But one of the two came and another guarantee gave him the title of Yautja warrior. Which is extremely hard to obtain in the society. And only two humans actually got this title, both are women. One actually lives on their homeworld and the other lives on earth(AVP).

It’s weird that the Predator tracks the blood trail, and then just… stabs the tree. Even if he thought Boba was behind the trunk, it doesn’t look like it was even long enough to stab THROUGH the trunk.

Not to mention Arnold tried the same trick and the predator tracked him using the vibrations of his heart. I don't think boba could have climbed the tree without being noticed.

Using Legends feats means Boba would probably win anyway, but they fudged a lot of details in regards to the Predator. The infrared vision was a major oversight; Predator 2, AvP: Requiem and numerous comics show that the Yautja have more than just infrared sight in their helmets, to the point that a major reason Gary Busey's character gets his ass kicked is because he and his squad wrongly assumed that the City Hunter was restricted to seeing on an infrared spectrum. Their cloaking is also capable of hiding them from the vision sensors of other Yautja, which would be rather relevant in a fight where one of the deciding factors is whether or not Boba can even see who he's engaging with. A good chunk of standard Predator gadgets seem to be missing, and many of the Yautja's physical feats outside of strength appear to have been ignored. Relativistic speed is also being way too generous for both parties; blaster bolts don't function similarly to beams of light, and neither do the lasers that the Predator dodged. More than that, both parties have shown limitations far below that threshold, and most people will agree that neither of them have consistently shown the ability to fight at near-lightspeed. It seems like the team did this to avoid addressing the fact that the Predators' next-best feats involve bullet-timing and outrunning cars, while Boba has done nothing similar. Overall, I feel that they got the right answer, but they arrived at said answer using entirely the wrong means. The fight was cool, but the research was pretty lacking.

I feel like this battle was skewed in Boba's favor, the research on Yautjas was incredibly lacking. Yautjas are well acquainted with humans and their cunning and to hunt one is a great honor and for an Elder they made this one act quite inexperienced.

I can understand your statement. However, I’m not certain it’s a good idea to compare Boba Fett to a typical human. He is not the same as a human on Earth, being a “human Swiss Army knife” who has taken down Jedi, the same people who are able to see their opponents moves before they even make them. Still, I can see where you’re talking from.

Thats pretty neat that you guys addressed that the predators we see on screen are fledglings. Not everyone knows that those "babies" are as deadly as they are. Alpha predators are a different league. Also the xenomorph kingdom is insane. Accounts of the Earth War talks about Queen guards. Those xenonorphs are practically unstoppable.

To take it a step further the queens arent even the biggest nor the strongest of the xenomorph matriarchy. After queen is empress and after that its broodmother, but we only see those 2 on the xenomorphs homeworld

They also used Avp E canon where the Xenomorph’s have Ravagers and Carrier variants, arguably the two strongest types of xenos a hive could produce.
