That would mean he'd have to return to that exact second afterwards. Otherwise he wouldn't be able to get himself one second later and even then. If he did return each second then they would be more and more exhausted until there wouldn't be any stamina to fight plus just one second later him would already know the entire battle from one second ago so he could just predict everything. Geez this is why not even Rick And Morty touch time travel. It's just BS and convoluted.

So, the fight started because: - Booster Gold thought Cable was some sort of hotshot from the future just like him and decides to do him a solid and did a publicity stunt for Cable. - Cable, being Cable, got annoyed to the point of wanting to kill him. Seems legit for both characters.

The worst part is that it really is in character....once Booster has developed some humility that is. though this is at their peak (before coming a new character) so it still fits.

@@RaccitoBandito I still say the hate on Ben 10 vs Green Lantern is deserved. In Ben 10, they literally show he's indestructable (he can be regenerated completely by the omnitrix) and while using Alien X or Clockwork, he can detect and chase after time travelers. GL just had no way to kill Ben 10. Other than that, yeah... they get a lot of hate, and this kinds feels like they're preparing for the worst this time. Could mean they're starting to have second thought about battles involving DC characters, though... it always happends there.

He didn’t do that. Death battle is very deceptive with their research. They also misled you with the silver surfer vs cable fight. Cable was as strong if not stronger than surfer, he just wanted to provoke him so that surfer would “kill” him. It’s complicated, the comic provides context.

I don't care what you say about Booster Golds personality. He came to be literally the greatest hero of all. Curing, stitching and repairing the universe along with the multiverse and noone came to know who did it. If that's not a selfless act, i'd like to know what is. It's literally the pinnacle of a hero. Noone comes even close to him in terms of moral and altruism. My favourite hero for sure.

Honestly, that was a dumb line. Cable has personally known multiple women with ridiculous power levels, and even *raised* one of them! He works closely with the likes of Storm, Rogue, and Jean Grey; raised Hope Summers, who's basically got the powers of *all* the mutants; occasionally rubs elbows with the likes of She-Hulk, Invisible Woman, and Gamora; and often fights female civilization/planet-level threats like Selene, Cassandra Nova, and Jean Grey (again). "Hitting like a girl" just shouldn't be an insult as far as he's concerned. I'm not sure if this is a mistake from the Death Battle writers or if Marvel comics made the mistake and regularly writes him as misogynistic.

Booster is like a middle ground for me, I really don't like characters who's ego is bigger than their whole body (except if your name is Capt. Jack Sparrow, Tony Stark etc) but Booster does have some hero moments which I love, that is why he is a middle ground

In fact, one of Booster's most prominent stories revolves around him *acting* like an incompetent goofball so that the other heroes won't find out he's actually a time-travelling savior. Cable not recognizing how dangerous Booster Gold can be until it was too late demonstrates this greatly.

The flight ring and forcefield belt were actually from 500 years in the future as they belonged to Braniac 5 from the Legion of Superheroes in the 30th century while Booster was from the 25th century. I'm guessing they didn't have a manufacturer's date on them.

In effect, it's perhaps the longest, most developed origin story for DC. Plus, his bromance with Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) has led to silly shenanigans and loss. Loss that isn't resurrected so it actually sticks.

Lesson of the day, never underestimate the goofball. Sometimes the goofier guys are more badass than the badasses.

I've always loved Booster Gold. He came to the past seeking fame and glory. But eventually he realized that his role of a hero meant that he would have to work in the shadows. The exact opposite of his goal. No one could ever know what he was doing, otherwise all the big baddies (like Doomsday) would come after him. Even after he has reformed into a decent hero, Booster Gold has to live acting like a clown. If none of his fellow heroes take him seriously, why should the villains?

What this fight really comes down to is this: Cable is stronger, but Booster Gold cheats.

@@sonofkrypton9912 Full-powered Cable scales to Dark Phoenix, and therefore, Galatus. He lost to Surfer because he was getting progressively weaker over time, and the fight accelerated it (look at the start of the issue in his interview).

No matter how this fight turns out, I can't help but be reminded of what a good character Booster Gold is. I think there's something really special about his path to humility. It just feels like a meaningful story. While I admit to being less familiar with Cable, compared to that, Cable's story just feels... lesser. I'm not trying to disrespect him or his story at all, but it just doesn't move me the same way.

If James Gunn can pull of this character, he literally has his Tony Stark just sitting there waiting. This character could become a HUGE star for DC if they adapt him correctly. Not to mention imo he has one of the coolest backstories/ability sets in all of DC.

Booster Gold redirectjng his force field onto Cable to crush him is honestly one of the most creative kills in the series

Also: People don't realize that Boosters gear was dissimilar tech from different timelines cobbled together in a time where the tech could be modified to work together. Brainiac 5's forcefield belt originally was this impervious, but it didn't have the power source to pull off the stuff booster does with it,.... the same with the flight ring, the blasters, and the chronogear. Cable lost because more than half his power was fighting off the technovirius.

"Oh hey I can do that too!" Literally half the Death Battles where the fighters both have similar powers

Booster is one of the few times where defence is superior to offence. Makes sense though for the character Booster Gold is. Of course the most important and op tech he'd bring along is something that protects him. Fully and Compleatly.

My rough estimate by looking at how long booster gold used his sheild plus him and his past selves firing their booster shots as a beam id say he was probably at like 10 or 20% power remaining so if cable hadn't used his mind control he might have won

There was a story in the first series about Booster always having his force field on which protected him from bacteria that no longer existed in the 25th century (like polio or small pox should be today), at the time of the story he had been in the 20th century for several months. Now I imagine the field was at one of it's lowest settings but any force field would still take up a generous amount of power so I think unless you take repeated Doomsday like hits that thing is going to last through most fights.
