The oathmark goblins I've mixed with GW lotr orc miniatures they scale quite well together, adds a more chaotic vibe to the unit, I have like many themed my oathmark armies as middle earth style, I think the orcs will make excellent uruks for my nasty Mordor force .

Agreed! I went with the Oathmark because of the Tolkein-esque feel.

Just had someone locally suggets Oathmark as a future project. These orcs and goblins go hard, they look very old-school LotR. They definitely look like they're the same species, rather than completely different like GW ones.

Thanks for the comparison video. I was hyped for these orcs but they are bit too similar in size and looks to the goblins for my taste. The characters look very good. Hopefully the orc line gets burlier heavy infantry and chariots.

Yeah, that's one of the issues I have with many "realistic" takes on orcs and goblins: the goblins seem more like somewhat short humans, rather than something more halfling sized. (Which, imo, is the "size niche" goblins should really occupy. D&D has it right in that regard.) I imagine the size similarity may have a lot to do with modern fantasy's Tolkien roots. Where in LotR, "Orc" and "Goblin" were names for effectively the same creature. You'd just occasionally, with the Uruk-Hai, have slightly larger orcs. But for all intents and purposes, the same species. It's only as we left Tolkien that other authors made the distinction (drawing from folklore, where Goblins were a well defined thing), and then over the decades the difference was magnified. It still feels wrong to me, seeing Orcs and Goblins being so close in size. But I kind of understand why.

Didn't even know they were making these. Thanks for the heads up! I have mixed feelings about the exaggerated, cartoony style of Warhammer orcs (any version). So having an affordable plastic orc kit with more realistic proportions is appreciated. If I didn't already have a bunch of those cheapo em-4 orcs taking up space in my pile of shame, I'd consider getting these Oathmark models.

Great size comparison.. I recently got frostgrave’s barbarians. And although their great little miniatures, quite detailed, they are a little on the small side as I’m wanting to add them to a game that is populated, mostly by games workshop miniatures / AoS etc… So I’m currently calling them dwarfs. As they’re too small to be considered men when compared with AoS steelHelms.

These orcs are the best Tolkienesque/pre-Warhammer/Warcraft orcs out there IMO. Just ordered a box for Christmas, they'll be so awesome.

Like what you are doing, I don't think the orc's will be for me they look very human to me. They could be good 1/2 orc's, also the metal ones look good but very very old school. Please show them painted at some point 😇🙏

3:53 For crying out loud, just take a pair of hobby pliers and twist the base flat again. Have you never had an integral base come bent before? Happens all the time, either during the demolding process or because someone was a little too rough chucking the fig in whatever bin or bucket they use for stock storage.

Oathmark (and Frostgrave, Stargave, Rangers, etc) are being killed by lousy US distribution. The big distribs that most retail stores are dependent on simply will not stock the game properly, and hardly ever restock what little they do get in. The problem started per-COVID but spiked during the pandemic, and has continued to get steadily worse ever since. It's gotten to the point where ordering online and preferably direct from the manufacturer is the only way to get most minis. If it isn't WizKids' D&D line or Games Workshop the odds of a physical store being able to reliably order it are low.
