Hello and welcome to Basic Fishing from New Zealand. In this video, I showcase a little mission I did where I found a small body of water that held grass carps and I was keen on landing a few on camera. It was a good opportunity to showcase me land a new species on my channel plus test out the gear onto some BIG carp on the light setup.

@@BasicFishingNZ Thanks! Mate, I just want to ask if you are connecting a fluorocarbon leader to a braid do you tie the two lines together or use a swivel to connect?
Didn’t have a carp since I came to NZ. Do you need a license?

u don't need a license when you want to target carps. but u need to have proof that u were only trying to target carp incase the rangers ask wat ur up to etc

Grass carps aren't like koi carp, grass carps are beneficial species.
