NYC student found slain and tortured after birthday celebration - The Story of Imette St. Guillen

In the Winter of 2006, a 24 year criminal justice student by the name of Imette St. Guillen went missing after a night of birthday festivities with friends. Hours later, her battered body was found miles away in Brooklyn New York. Now, authorities were tasked with finding the monster responsible.

I met my now bestfriend at bar because her "friends" at the time left her stranded. She was highly intoxicated and I noticed two men staring at her and asking her if shr needed a ride home. I swooped in like an eagle and pretended like she was with my friends and I. Best decision ive made. Who knows what couldve happened to her that night. RIP to this sweet soul in the video. Praying for everyone. 🙏🏾❤️

I've been in a situation like this before. My friend and me went to the club got sloshed, I was ready to go... but she wasn't. She admitted to me she was looking for a nightcap... if you catch my drift. I refused to leave her. I told her "heifer we came together we're leaving together and if you want you can have him follow to your spot and pick you up from there but you're going to arrive safely and on camera exiting this car." Now the few friends I have don't give this a second thought. We dance, drink and go to the bathroom TOGETHER. Too much happening in this world to not have a someone watching your back.

I was just going to say… Nobody should ever have to worry about things like this, what is the major malfunction with the people we live amongst? Is there something to even place the blame on, or is it just the general brainwashing that comes from TV, movies, internet, etc.? Something is going on with them to where they don’t see the other person as a living being with thoughts and feelings, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to just extinguish their lives without a second thought. Or would they?

In 1988, a friend of mine wanted to go shopping in New York during February vacation. We (the crew) did not want her to go alone & promised to go the following weekend. The unfortunate reality is that the death penalty has killed an incredible amount of innocents, as well as failed to curb violent crimes too. If you executed every inmate on death row, it wouldn't even make a dent in the overpopulation problem. The solution is better policing and more accountable tracking of convicted felons. The current practices in place are a joke.

This case had a big effect on NYC nightlife. They changed the licensing requirements and background checks for bouncers and also started to crack down on clubs throughout the city. 2005 and early 2006 were crazy in NYC nightlife, but starting around mid to late 2006 things started changing. Virtually every club on 27th Street between 10th and 11th avenue got shut down. Also, an underage girl from NJ was killed after drinking at Guest House around that time too. The police cracked down hard on the clubs after 2006.

I'm a bonafide NYKR ,, growing up in Spanish Harlem Living through the 80s & 90s. Growing up ad a teenager in this era I remember pretty much all these stories. I left after 911 NY wasn't the same and at this time I was raising a teenager and didn't want her to be exposed to this lifestyle. Don't get me wrong I will always love my home and go back every now n than, looking from the outside looking in, I must say this was the best decision I ever made in my life.. Something similar happen to me and a friend. Last year in college and celebrating our graduation in a few weeks. I had a car and knew not to drink much since I was driving. I’m 46 years old now and still not a drinker. But anyway I had a friend at the club who was acting just like the girl in this video and that’s why her friends left her. I always knew not to go out as this is not the first time she’s being drunk and not listen to anyone. She would literally start arguments and fight because she never wanted to leave. I seen her come in with some friends so I had my boyfriend to walk with me to my car and call the dorm room of a mutual friend. This is was in 1997 when cell phones was the plug up battery king you keep in your car. They left her because of her drinking and she wasn’t ready to go. I went back inside and said it’s time to go and I will take you to your dorm room as I had an apartment then. She didn’t want to go and I wasn’t about to argue with a person drunk at 3am. I went to the bar and ask the bartender can I use their phone and call the police. Called 911 and two officers came and told her if she didn’t get in the car with me so I can take her home they were going to take her to jail. Still drunk but they were able to get her in my car and trail us to the dorm. They were very nice and even helped me get her out the car and take her to her dorm. This was over 25 years ago, but 14 years ago one of our college friends told me she was driving drunk and had an accident and died. She was on her way of becoming a top attorney working in DC but her demons got the best of her. RIP Karen

I remember when this happened the general consensus was that Littlejohn was hired by the actual killers to dispose of the body and take the rap. The connection to The Falls and Dorian's bars and friends of 'preppy killer' Robert Chambers, who employed Littlejohn, were speculated on very much at the time. It was said that this time, the killers chose an unknown victim vs the well known, wealthy socialite victim of Robert Chambers. Very sinister if it actually went down like that.

I've been watching your stories for a coupla weeks & have subscribed & say too that you have a great way of telling the stories: I love how you give a background on the people so you get to know who they were & not just another statistic. Your accent has some grit & edge which adds to the storytelling, yet is also a soft, soothing voice, & that gives it more compassionate feel. I can tell you do a lot of research & you really paint the picture of how life was in NY in 80's-90's & beyond. Keep up the great work & getting the word out about these cases which otherwise might have been forgotten about or not heard about from people outside NY like me (I'm in SC). Again, great work telling these victim's stories so they're not forgotten!! 💯💯💯👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
