I used to be an employee at the Michigan Nuka Cola factory. I was the manager for the top floor. We used to manufacture the Nuka Cola Quantum. From free samples our pee turned blue and we had a blast! We still make Nuka Cola at the factory but for some reason can't pee anymore or drink the cola. The cola tastes weird now, upper management doesn't send instructions but efficiency is at an all time high! Only problem is that my secretary went feral for some reason. Might be something in the water!

Friendship ended with Nuka Cola. Vim is now my friend. Sunset Sarsaparilla is also a good soda too.

Anyone ever figure out how those vending machines worked? You open the door and there's like 6 bottles there - does 1 purchase just unlatch the door and it's on the honor system, or does a properly functioning one simply dispense 1 bottle and we just never see that?

I suspect they were designed to dispense one bottle, but our player characters are able to crack them open since the machines themselves have degrades over the centuries.

This is why I love Fallout. It takes all the horrors and disturbing aspects of real life, bottles them up in a cheery 1950s Americana theme, and ships them back to the public as “fiction”

Likely because the game company did not want to deal with licensing issues, Especially because of how the company acts in the setting. Coca-Cola or Pepsi would want to maintain a certain brand image so all the crazy and overtly amoral actions by Nuka would never be allowed by Coke or Pepsi.* *I am not saying either RL corporation has not done shady shit, more that when you license a brand they do not want you to show them doing abhorrently shady shit.

@@Vaultboy-ke2jj Well the history of this fictional world is the exact same as ours up until 1950. It splits off into the Fallout timeline there. And since Coca Cola and PepsiCo were around way before then that means they also existed here. If anything they were probably bought out by Nuka Cola

You forgot the time they changed the original formula and called it New Nuka. There were riots in the streets and even the Chinese commented on the change. They changed back to Nuka Cola Original after that fiasco. But I think the formula changes stuck.

The LA Beast chugged a 20 year old bottle of Coca Cola and it made him spew. He has a cast iron stomach. I doubt that 200 year old Nuka cola is still drinkable 😢

Wait Nuka Cola came out in 2044? So it was only a 33 year old company by the Great War, wow they grew exponentially when you think about all they achieved pre-war as a company. I mean (aside the Samurai in Mothership Zeta) Fallout timeline generally starts around 1945 so I thought Nuka Cola were a much older company.
