Nucanoe Flint | Criminally Underrated Fishing Kayak

Спорт

Part 2 of 3 in the "Criminally Underrated Fishing Kayak" series. I go through what I think is one of the best VALUES out there and why I think that many people underestimate the Nucanoe Flint.
Nucanoe has been making high quality fishing kayaks since 2006 and continue to innovate the way that fishing kayaks are made and how customer service is meant to be with one of the best fishing kayak warranties out there.
At. price point that won't break the bank, this feature-rich fishing kayak may need to be on your list of fishing kayaks to add to your fleet! #fishingkayak #wendellfishing #kayakfishing #nucanoe #fishingkayak

I did a ton of research several years ago loooking to buy two kayaks. ended up on the Flynts and am very happy with them. Have added a rear trolling motor setup with lithium batteries for when I want to to cover a lot of water fishing.

I picked up a Commander 120 last year and this video shows me I could trade for a Flint and maybe do more 😎 Thanks for the video walkthrough and thoughts Andy 👊 I am guilty of underestimating this platform. Another fantastic video 👏👏

Hey Austin, What do you like about the flint that the bite didn’t offer? What did you prefer on the bite? I’m new and afraid the flint wouldn’t be stable enough for me to catfish out of. Does it do good on lakes or are you mostly creek fishing?

  • @thebeardedpaddler

@@coltgriffin6502 catfishing you may like the Bite more. The Bite will be more stable. The Flint will paddle better and give you better speed

Do you have any experience in the older original Jackson coosa? That’s the current main kayak I have and this yak seems comparative in specs. I can stand in my coosa but can’t fully focus on fishing while doing so but I also love the maneuverability and how lightweight it is so I can cover a bit more water than a barge kayak. Any input is much appreciated!

I prefer the Flint personally. A lot of issues with deck cracking under where the seat sits on the deck. The Flint lowered the seat position to give more stability for 2024 and its about $300 cheaper than the Coosa was in 2021

I’m interested in a pedal drive kayak. Nucanoe definitely has my interest ! While searching, came across the seastream angler 120pd. Total budget will be $3000’ish. This is to include everything. Kayak and accessories. Which would you recommend and why? Get the nucanoe and pivot drive, at the top end of the budget? Or the seastream with some accessories, with some money to spare? No electronics or batteries on the boat.

I just got a fusion 360 seat for my frontier 12. Has anyone tried turning the whole seat bracket 90 * so it sits down on the floor in order to quickly have a lower seat position with out using the seat riser kit and turning the mounting bracket upside down?

Not that I'm aware but you will probably like the results better with the bracket upside down

Is this a kayak you would recommend for someone that is basically a first time kayaker that will be using it primarily on rivers and the occasional lake? This feels like it would be perfect as I would be hauling it in the back of my truck but I'm not sure if I'd prefer something that has a pedal drive and the pivot drive to me just doesn't look as good as the others. I'm 5'10" and about 200 lbs if that influences your decision in anyway.

  • @thebeardedpaddler

For primarily rivers it will do great. A lot of great options. This one is just a phenomenal value at $1099

Is there one that has a pedal drive that you would recommend for shallower rivers? Or is the pivot drive better than it looks? I just think it will get annoying have to disconnect it all the time to haul it.@@thebeardedpaddler

@@Hentges13 pedal drive on the rivers aren't always what they are cracked up to be. If I would suggest a pedal drive for the river, it would definitely be the Jackson Bite Angler. The Jackson drive kicks up all the way into the hull if you were to hit something. Really unique, and does well on rivers
