I re-shot stage 4 using holdovers after the match after dialling the first time around and cleaned it in 40 seconds flat and it didn't even feel fast... dial to 0.1, then 0.4 increments up and down for my rifle/ammo. Absolute cakewalk, no idea why I dialled it the first time.

Yeah, holdovers are the way to go. 40 seconds is a smoking time. Our range has to put 100 yard targets on top of the berm and my bipod wasn't set to a good height to transition to the far target easily so I lost some time there. Fastest time at our club was 51 seconds with my time being a 54. Another fast and accurate competitor dialed and was 20-25 seconds slower than the holdover guys.

@@CopperStarPrecision Much easier running a stage for the second time as well while the muscle memory is fresh. Luckily our troop line was pretty well set up too.

Just got to shoot this C.O.F. today. My 2nd match ever and the movement was a challenge for sure. I did manage to nearly double my score from my 1st match and probably would have if I hadn't stepped the bed on the tower and barrel stage.

Currently using the Bushnell Match Pro (original version, not the new ED version), but I am in the process of testing some other "budget" scopes that will still meet the base class requirements. Stay tuned for reviews of those.

Sometimes the movement becomes a little silly. It becomes more of an athletic event than a precision shooting event. I probably just feel this way because I’m older and the running around is more difficult for me.

Yeah, I agree. The challenge is the limited number of standard props as there's only so much you can do when it comes to the course of fire without repeating stages from previous months. As time goes on it seems that the stages get more and more complex.

Is being completely hands of the rifle within the rules? I would think not maintaining control of the rifle a violation.

That's a good point. Failure to maintain positive control of the rifle is a violation, but here the rifle was in a controlled and balanced state. For example, if you place your rifle on the ground for a prone stage, completely let go of it, and then get in a prone position your hands are off of the rifle, but the rifle is still controlled. Had the rifle fallen off or over it would have been a match DQ. It is also going to depend on the Match Director's interpretation of the rules.

@@CopperStarPrecision not sure you are comparing apples to apples. It was resting on a bag on the edge of the rooftop. Being deployed on the ground with a bipod isn’t the same. 3 points of contact with the ground vs one on a bag.

Great Video. My first run on it this month I cleaned the Ladder Dropped 3 on the tank trap. Dropped 2 on Pyramid(Timed out) fumbled my start. Dropped 1 on Troop and Roof.. Had not practiced at all so practice before my Home match on 20th

Thanks! Still a great effort with those scores. That would have put you top 10 at our match. A lot of people at this match also only got off 8 shots on the pyramid. At the next match you know what to do... Score More Points!

@@CopperStarPrecision I managed to get 7th over all at that match. Going to practice a bit more this weekend. I know I can finish the Pyramid in time.

You should consider coming up to Paulden this time of year it's only in the 90s and just a bunch of hillbillies to shoot against 😂😂😂

Not a bad idea. I think you're the 4th Sunday of the month, but that conflicts with the only PRS rimfire match in the valley. I'll make it up there someday.
