As a military sniper, these shots are really difficult without a spotter! Most people don't appreciate the spotters but their work is holy!

For sure! Definitely not an easy challenge. Episode 2 is in the works for next week.
Stock savage guy here. It was a little difficult spotting your own splash. First thing in the morning on full mag the image was a little dark and the dirt wasn't moving much. It was a great day and an awesome experience. Hits got way easier as the day went on. Thank you for the opportunity. Hope to do it again. With impacts this time.

I was watching and wondering about that. The splashes were so small, even hard to see on the cam. Also don’t worry; if anyone watching expected hits under the 3 min 5 shot condition, I’d say they haven’t been watching long range stuff long enough.

Don't think he was able to spot those shots or I think he could have corrected and got on steel pretty quick. Mile with no spotter is extremely difficult!

When the first guy ditched his bag, I knew it was all downhill from there.
If you can't see your own splash you can't adjust. Good job guys all around.
That guy rocking that savage was shooting an MOA but just couldn't walk it in! I was really routing for him. I think he'd have been on steel in 2 with a spotter.
Cold bore 1 moa at a mile solo is no joke. Theres no way you could see that splash through the glass to even make corrections off of. These guys did amazingly well considering.
Really good episode. The gentleman with the stock savage has his reloading dialed in. Im looking forward to the next one.
I certainly don’t have what it takes, but hopefully that won’t stop me from getting in on this action when I’m back in the area. Any chance of a separate AR with a drum mag division. I’m thinking unlimited rounds / 30s 😁 Awesome challenge. Thanks to all for getting it organized and supplying the legit prizes. First place should get a bejeweled Diet Coke signed by Xring, however
I learn alot from these challenge videos. The guy with the 7PRC has an accutac bipod with rubber feet. Watch his rifle jump. I switched mine to the sled feet and it made a world of difference.
Everyone should get a swag bag of some stuff. Winner gets the big stuff, runner up gets the binoculars. One it be television show, big bucks!

Kudos to the guys trying to get there with 6.5CM.
That was great content to watch. Like to see more of those. That wind was gettin it!
Great vid! Looks fun.
Awesome shooting guys. Man id love to try this.
I think a spotter would level the playing field. The guys shooting big bores have definite advantage at seeing the splash. Make it interesting and give every shooter one spot call. Either way I like it!!
Great video and competition. Don’t change a thing.

Thank You Sir, Sponsors, Mr. M, competitors, Clinton House! One strategy, which may be less significant at such a distance, is to know your rifle cold bore as far out as possible. Anticipate that impact, concentrating on spotting to get a good wind call. Work with that on the remaining four. I believe the Savage rifle had an Area 419 Hell Fire muzzle device. I love everything Area 419! I hope that young man from California comes to shoot in the future, Johnathan O..... The other time you mentioned an event at Pig River. I see competitions there on Practiscore often. Pig River, enchanting, my imagination runs wild! 👍🇺🇲
The 338 Savage with hand loads was sub MOA, just couldnt get wind. With a spotter he is 2nd round impact all day.
Nice show

They weren't shooting for groups. Shouldn't you have been pulling for the person with the hit closest to the target since that was the objective of the challenge?
@apet1572
2 ай бұрын
@@OFFICIALUND none of them hit the target, so the next best thing is a good grouping. the dude also shot all his shots pretty damn close to target as opposed to some who didnt even make it there
@OFFICIALUND
2 ай бұрын
@@apet1572 You're obviously slow. Think about it. If the first shot taken was 30MOA left and low, they SHOULDN'T be hitting near there the second time. They should be getting closer to the target (ideally) with each successive shot. Even if they were, the Stock Savage guy was getting progressively worse with each shot. He threw that last shot way high. 7PRC guy had a tighter group that was nearly just as close to the target.

I can’t see 💩 made me think of jango 🤣
You guys should put baseball ball chalk behind the target like the whole hill
I smell a rub off Texas Plinking and too much with the shirt advertising , that’s definitely a tuff challenge Ray

Texas Plinking is derivative of Long Range Shooters of Utah (and others). It's actually telling of your own inexperience that you didn't know about this type of video until you watch TP.
Ray. I have no idea what kind of camera your using recording this video, but it is high movie quality! May be the best video footage I've ever seen in KZread... Fantastic job.
Building a 7 PRC right now, will definitely be doing this.

I am sure there will be some impacts on the next episode. There are some F-Class guys that says this is a walk in the park and they are ready.
nice guns and expensive but none of them could shoot.😂
Great video. Tough wind. I’m sure they were making corrections, but still missed on one side on all shots. I guess larger corrections needed to see the effect down range. I wonder if my 25 prc would do any good?
@XRING
2 ай бұрын
Thanks George! I think the 25 could do well as long as you could see the splash. Many of the shooters were trying really hard to see their splashes. That's really what makes this event really tough.
Think.i.would do 8.shots ..and I could not see impacts on that dirt wad it wet ...good job guys
nice to watch... were the guys unable to see their splash? seemed like they were all grouping well but just couldn't adjust onto the target.
The "range director" should direct himself off the line and let these men concentrate
That wind was pretty stable
I wanted to come try so bad. Maybe next time.
F-class open V-Bull scoring ring is 0.25 MOA @ 1000. Find a local match and just show up with a rifle under .338, a bipod and no muzzle brake, and show your stuff.
Needless to say this is a tough challenge.
A small change, just for fun you need to shoot after the competitors Ray !
You should do the Backfire challenge.
