Ойын-сауық

This is a known problem that I have seen online and experienced with 2 new and out of the box FN Reflex pistol.

    Thank you! I purchased a reflex to carry as a concealed duty gun. for the first 350 rounds through it, I couldn't get 3 consecutive rounds without a failure to feed, (probably 6 different loads with a variety of projectile shapes). I couldn't even manually cycle the gun without continuous failures to feed. I've owned and shot probably 40 handguns, none of which had these issues. I just completed the extractor mod and while I haven't shot the gun yet, I am extremely confident, problem solved! I've manually cycled 3 mags of round nose, hollow point, and a mix mag and all fed smooth with no issues. I will say that, I now really like this gun and am confident with it but shame on FN for the lack of testing and acknowledging this issue as others have reported.

    I purchased 2 of these; 1 for my wife and one for me. New, my wife's would fail to feed about every 5th round regardless of ammo. On hers, the hammer retention pin on the handle was backing out about every 200 rounds. Mine failed to feed about every 2-3 rounds. Even with 550 rounds through each gun it was no better. Both were returned to FN. On my wife's, they said the extractor spring tension was too high (they "adjusted" the tension) and the hammer retention pin had been installed backwards (they properly replaced the pin). Upon return it was better, but still not reliable. Mine, they said the gap to the extractor was too tight so they replaced the extractor. Again, better, but not reliable. I then modified the extractors on both guns to round and feather the extractors and they are much more reliable, but I apparently have a little more work to do as they fail to feed about once every 50 rounds now. I will love the gun when the problem is fully fixed, but for now I am concerned it will fail when I need it most.

    Had the same issue with mine which was obviously disappointing. That said, a bit of Dremel and file, 5 mins of attention and it's flawless now. Have to be honest, outside of the much larger Glock 43x , this is the best shooting micro I've run. Better than the Shield +, Hellcat, and the 365 imo. I LOVE it. Very happy I got one finally. Few hundred more rounds and it will be my go-to EDC.

    I shot 600 rounds and I keep getting failures. After 400 rounds I sent it in to FN because it would fail to go into battery every 3-5 rounds and they sent it back saying it was fine. They did something because it is a lot better now but still has the issue with steel and occasionally with regular brass. I am definitely going to mess with the extractor because I really love the pistol but it needs to cycle rounds or it will never be my edc.

  • @walth5336
    @walth53363 ай бұрын

    I just bought one, and had some Failure to go into Battery as you showed. With first 200 rounds of 115 grain FMJ, it probably failed to load/go into battery 10-12 times. For sure getting frustrated. I cleaned and lubed again and went back with some 124 grain PMC and CCI Blazer and had a total of 4 in the second batch (200 more rounds), however, I noticed they occurred when I did not pull the slide back all the way. The 4th failure was actually me trying to simulate not pulling it all the way. I still want to put another 200-300 without issues before I'd consider carrying it, but the recoil spring is loosening, and I wonder if that may be part of the issue. Getting used to the grip angle and trigger.

Field strip them and examine to see what the heck may be different. I see comments from people that just do not have that issue but then there’s the one video of the reflex in a vice printing multiple shots through one whole - low left. I fear I may trade mine in for the 365 x macro. Or dish out the difference for an MRD. Just hate that I’ve had the FTF and POI issue out of the box. Thanks for listening/reading as well! Haha.

They feel like an extension of my arm for point shooting, don’t think I’ll ever change. There are a ton of Glock haters, but they just work. Do have a regular 365 frame i switch out some times, when dress is all that will allow for, but thats pretty rare. Excellent pistols Had carried the old school PPS for many years simply because i felt the form factor for carrying was the best out there, and was a great a pistol, but the single stack capacity always bothered me. 365s solved that problem and kept what made the PPS great. SIde note, that Ridgeline / O'Neil Rally ever since i saw them put out that original video, i have been dreaming of a Dakar meets rifle match hahaha. Im sure we could find enough like minded crazies to put something together no? I might simply evaporate from sheer bliss.

    This video, seems authentic but - idk. It’s just off. I had 7 FTF, out the box. I was running 115gr Fiocchi. I knew something was off, and thought it was the ammo. I went to the front desk and was told they had many complaints of hard primers. (No wonder why they were pushing this stuff out the door.). I ran instead, 115gr Blazer FMJ, 500 rounds, not 1 FTF or FTE. I then switched to Federal HST 1 124gr, Hornady Critical Defense 115gr, and Speer Gold Dot G2, and Gold Dot 124 and 147gr w/o any FTF. Gun was lubed with CLP 63460 MIL. Every shot group, was low left. At times, didn’t even hit the Targets from 7-15 yards out. Jumped back to the platform I know owe so well, G19.3, G43 and shot groups were all in fist size, accurate as can be. Called FN, they said after testing tons of guns, no failures, no mechanical defects, and guns were accurate each time. Encouraged me to make sure ammo was seated all the way back, no limp writing, verified it must be a combat grip, and to fix the angle bc Glock shooters will have trouble. Since, it’s run like butter baby.

    Well, I was a former SWAT guy before retiring. Either way, the usefulness of having a weapon mounted flashlight is almost a must. If you are justified in pulling your firearm on someone then it can only help to be able to positively ID your target and the surrounding areas. Freeing up the support hand from a hand held light will give you better control of your firearm as well if a light is needed. My question for you would be why wouldn’t you?

    @@XRINGMr. Helms, that is an amazing and eloquent response Sir!!!...... I would also add that pulling that super-bright white light will temporarily blind your possible assailant and may even provide a diversion or escape route for a NON-LETHAL outcome. But, barring that....the vast majority of gunfights DO HAPPEN IN THE DARK...aaaand....I for one,--like to see what/who I'm shooting at....

    Thanks for this video. Love your channel and all of the long range shooting, so I was pleasantly surprised to see your review of the FN Reflex. I had already concluded the extractor was the source of my issues, but I was reluctant to do any modifications to mine until I saw this video. I rounded mine off too and that definitely solved the problem! Here's a link to my video with a close up of my extractor, before and after. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m52Vz9aln9CfYJs.html

    I appreciate you adding the link and for watching the channel. I had a lot of people asking about the modifications so this will help them out. Thanks again and have a great week .👍🏼

    Another "Let's let the customers test this to see if it actually works" product. Absolute dirt bags! If your crap doesn't work don't send it out. All of them do it now days. There's so many disgruntled customers of FN, Ruger, Benelli, POF, and the list goes on. I'm waiting for a group of buyers to start the class action lawsuit. We wouldn't be working on our new cars would we?

    I have over 600 rounds threw mine not one problem, the only thing I had a problem with was when I loaded my gun and racked the slide if I tryed to rack it like a girl it would get stuck . But if you rack it like you’re a Man U won’t have no problems. And never had a failure to feed when shooting.

    I think you had one of the good one. Many of us have had issues during firing. This is why I mentioned “riding the slide “ 👍🏼

    @@XRING I think it’s very hit and miss with this gun. But when it’s working right it’s a great gun I carry it everywhere. It is very annoying when u spend that kinda money and use these types of guns to protect ur life you don’t want any issues. FN really needs step up thier quality control . Plus mine was shooting low left with iron sights but I run a red dot and it’s great shooter now.
