For all we know, these dialogs are one of those very rare easter eggs in a game.

Ben is really cool and convincing in his "master necromancer" roles, and they make a wonderful duet with Adam as an "apprentice". Loved this skit very much. :)

Adam is one of the most versatile comedic actors I have ever seen. He can do everything from dopey defenseless to stone cold cool with equal ease.

He could be a death knight npc even if death knights are a playable class. It is hardly like that is completely unheard of in games. In fact it is pretty common, especiqlly WoW which they have said is one of the titles they draw most inspiration from.

It really is underrated. It shows that Adam can really handle strong acting. Honestly, I want to see more of him now xD

Adam’s acting was fantastic, but I’m also genuinely impressed with Ben in this one too. He really did a great job conveying the characters emotions through facial expressions especially. Looking embarrassed whenever Adam (victim) messed up on his acting and seeming like he really wanted to see him improve, just like any good teacher would.

VLDL has been the height of entertainment in my life for quite a bit, and I consistently recommend them to loads of people. Top marks as always!

The Death Knight is the most wholesome character in the universe. He loves farming!

This made me laugh so hard, and then left me smiling a lot, it's so adorable. And I love how it didn't degenerate into the conflict getting worse and worse, but instead they got better and better.

Adam is such a great actor.. Depending on his role he comes across as annoying, nerdy, embarassing, brave or attractive, and at first I even thought that Playtech Adam and Sorcerer Adam were two different people. He made me understand what a huge impact one's facial expression can in principle have on dating for example. 😄

The Secret Life of NPCs, Episode 1. We follow a familiar yet still unfolding NPC’s journey from bit part character with oh so wonderfully cheesy dialogue as he begins to hone his side quest set dressing skills with the help of his kind villainous new mentor.

It’s nice to see the npcs be nice to each other this warms my heart

I love how wholesome this ended up being, like I thought he was gonna get worse and Ben would go all "Outrageous" and such but they had so much fun learning together.

Nice to see Eugene finally moved on from trying to save his family to pursue his love for -getting beat up by demons- acting! Good for him, he looks so happy

I really liked how you included new actors in the skit, it was refreshing to see new faces and hear new voices!

Kinda feels like the title of a raunchy BL novel for middleaged english ladies.

Should do a sequel where the captive npc becomes so famous for acting he thinks he is too good to continue working with the death Knight on his quests. I'm picturing him walking around as if he is a big shot demanding to have a bigger role in quest's or maybe demand to be a main line NPC and refusing to even associate with the death Knight.

And then a sequel to that sequel where the captive NPC realizes that fame made him lose what could have been a great friend, with flashback of the torture scenes, but in a nostalgic way. With a sense of emptiness inside goes back to look for the Death Knight for one last acting quest but A) the Death Knight has been deleted from the game, making the end feel more empty and sad or B) They reunite and make a wholesome ending.

To all that didn't know. You can actually role in the game to fall to up to like 10meters which is quite a lot actually. Loved, that they implemented this gameplay aspect because it reminded me of ocarina of time

Being but an NPC that respawns after each death really does take away from the natural fear of the life or death situation within the narrative, huh?

Adam is definitely my favourite. Britney’s a close second but there’s something about Adam’s hopeless optimism and being a glutton for punishment that gives the right electric feel for him take the lead by a rock’s throw.

One of my favorite episode ! It's kinda wholesome to watch the dynamic between the two NPCs I also like this idea of they are putting on a show for the adventurers

I'm getting a Baelin's Route vibe from this. The idea of the NPCs actually just acting through their roles and potentially being able to go off the path is awesome! Love your work as always!

Greg taking the actor feat in Epic NPC DnD makes so much sense now.

I feel like this could be revisited again. Loved it.

Ben has mercilessly improved and this shall be one of the most memorable cutscenes in gaming history.

Right!! I must have said that about 10 times while watching this sketch . And that's not an adjective I use...like...ever.

It feels weird that seeing a Death Knight and his over-and-over-again killed hostage, my only reaction is "gee, how cute!" But darn, it *is* adorable. Adam's admiring look was similar to the "girlfriend for a thousand gold" skit.

I was just waiting for him to actually get rescued, and be severely disappointed

I really love the small details you guys put so much effort into--like that fencer adventurer with a French accent.

I love this episode :) Lately there's been some more serious ones, I think this return to the classic "breaking the 4th wall" style that was the staple of Epic NPC Man :)

I really enjoyed this take on things a lot; I’m digging this whole “peek behind the curtain,” approach to Epic NPC Man’s universe, I hope you guys keep peppering them throughout, it’s a cool bit of variety to your already hilarious content. Thanks for the laughs!

I think it’s great that Ben is so supportive. I mean, we’d all noticed, hadn’t we? I’m also really looking forward to seeing this scene when it’s released. Can’t wait.

This is random but I just noticed how interesting Adam's eyes are. Quite beautiful.

I would love to see more questlines from this pair; leading all the way up to Adam playing the Necromancer's Apprentice and really having to get his acting down or else he'd accidentally foil the Necromancer's plot.

The Death Knight himself admitted, at the end, that it was a "limited time quest." It may be an impossible quest. Game developers are sometimes trolls. Source: Worked with (not for!) a San Francisco based game company in a red brick building (there are a few) -- and yeah, at lunch or at the nearby brewpub after work, there were (allegedly, regularly) conversations about, "How can we frustrate the gamers?" "How much will management let us get away with?" "What if they need the item from the last limited time quest to even win the boss battle in the next limited time quest?" TL;DR: Game developers come in many flavors, including Lawful Evil. 😇😈
