I've been subscribed for quite some time now! Pal (and Mike) are my favorite. I love it when they go visit Mike's mom. Pal gets so excited when Mike tells him where they're going, then, even though you can see how excited he is to see her, he's so gentle with her. 🥰 What a sweetheart!

I can't believe they got to meet the famous Vanessa, and Lupa! Such a lucky dog.

And those big brown eyes!! Sooooo soft and sweet, ours sits with my 91 yo mum, gazing at her, but then he knows how to turn it on if a stranger comes in the yard - we live out in the bush - and he isn't afraid to take on any ball tossing session either.

For his first groom, he seems to have done very well. I think he thought that by giving kisses it would make you stop washing him. lol

Better than grooming the slightly off color NTSC.

I’ve never had a dog, which is maybe why I’m always astounded that the dogs aren’t bald after all of the shedding that happens during the groom. Pal looks and is adorable, and I loved the song of his people. 🙂

That's because what they shed is an undercoat and not the hair that you see ("A layer of short hairs underneath the longer ones of an animal's fur.").

My parents' last German Shepherd, Tasha, was born 2 months before my daughter. She was extraordinary. She would play hide and seek with my kids, watched them like they were her own puppies, and saved my brother's life when he had an aortic dissection at 38. He went to my parents' bedroom and was able to turn the doorknob but was too weak to open the door. Tasha opened the door and jumped on my parents' bed to wake my mother up. If it had been much longer, he would have died. She died from cancer in June of 2020 at 9 years old with all of my kids hugging her.

Pal AND Girl with the dogs! I have been hoping for this match-up for months! My 2 favorite Canadian creators! Pal was the goodest, cutest, boy who deserves ice cream and to play ball with his favorite neighbor. ❤

Pal appears to have the West German working lines markings. He looks very much like my first GSD. They are such smart dogs.

Looks more like a show line GSD. My aunt had one. One of my colleagues has a working line GSD and her hip / back is in line unlike Pal‘s.

@@Staniii2360 has a typical black & tan GS. Rear legs are not as over angulated , as th show types. But has a roach back, oversloped as th showdogs, top line should be level, slight slope from croup( hip joint) even with th 3 point stack . As how breeders went too far w/ th overangulation , & are trying to get back to th traditional ...

Actually the topline should tend to level when moving. Not moving,the withers are higher and slow into a strong, well developed, short back and long sloping croup 25-27 degrees. As per the German Shepherd Dog standard The German showline dogs seem to be going through a recurring fad of a roaching topline. It had started years ago, then went away I the late 90s and early 2000s. Unfortunately, it has reappeared only worse. This dog would look quite sloped and angulated if set up on a show stance. Most likely, he is mostly North American showlines. NA showlines are currently sound and much more moderate in angulation than in the 80s, and 90s. King Shepherds and Shiloh Shepherd have had other breeds mixed into increase size. They are not recognized by either the Canadian or American Kennel Clubs. The are also not recognized by the SV, which is the German Shepherd Dog registry in Germany.

​@@Staniii2360he is working line. You can tell by his back legs. Show line ones have their legs crouched down, this one has normally raised back legs indicating he's the healthy original line of the breed

@@GrandDuchessT he's a beautiful pet dog, not show quality, as is not even a pure GSD, mixed with Shiloh, King Yea th rear legs, are overangulated, & almost hocks touching ground, on show GSD. But he's way roach backed, not level

Love those guys!!! Actually, Mike got Pal shortly before Buddy's passing to give him a boost of energy and to teach Pal the ropes that Mike couldn't... I think once Buddy knew Mike would be in good hands, he could finally let go and cross the rainbow bridge. Both Buddy and Pal love to visit Mike's mom a lot to give all the lovens, too, as she is in an Alzheimers home. They are such a sweet family!!!! 🥰

I used to work in an assisted living apartment bldg, and once in a while this woman's son would bring her adorable little Bichon' Frise' to visit. Everybody in that bldg.would stop and pet that little snowball of a dog. It sure brought a lot of joy to all of us.

That famous German Shepherd whine...priceless...

A well trained dog is a thing of beauty.

Such a good boy! I have 2 GSD’s, both rescues. Both are cry babies at home. A couple of weeks ago, I was walking one of them, Butch, when a stray dog attacked, and bit me. I was so worried about Butch, I tried to get up as fast as I could, (Not that fast, I’m 65😄). But, in a few seconds, Butch had totally traumatized the other dog, and sent him running! Not such a baby after all!

@@vaska1999 I was a K9 handler for many years, law enforcement here and security in Iraq. I know dogs and I’m not afraid of them. I actually had pepper spray in my hand, when a woman screamed “don’t hurt that dog”! I glanced at her just as the dog lunged at me. She’s the reason I got bit, hurt when I hit the sidewalk, and my dog almost getting hurt. Unfortunately, because he was a stray, and bit me, he will be euthanized after the stray hold up. This hurts my heart, because if I had been able to spray him, he probably would have ran off or home. It’s so sad.

If you don't know the dog itself, you may consider talking to a doctor about a rabies treatment to be safe. You never know what a stray animal may be carrying.

He’s well behaved and a bit whiny while being groomed, but if someone threatened his loved ones, he’d probably turn to snarling, teeth glaring instant response machine. Good dog!

My mom's GSD/Pitbull mix is the biggest baby, terrified of loud noises and getting his feet wet. Gods help you if you so much as look at her sideways though

My folks and I had a Great Dane × Belgian Sheepdog when I was a kid. He was a sweet, big baby most of the time. He would take your arm in his mouth when he met you and show you around the house. We called it his $.50 tour. Once, we took him to the vet to trim his nails. With my dad, myself, and two vet techs holding onto him while the vet did his nails, he still bumped us about in the exam room! My mom asked us what happened when we came out. 🤣😂🤣😂 My current vet had a Great Dane patient who was such a big baby that he wouldn't even go into the exam room for his nails. Instead, he laid down between the counter and some shelves for dog food and dramatically held out his paw and looked away while his nails were done. I laughed rather hard, then told my story.

I love German shepherds. I had one when I was little, Thor. He was my protector, I was his little girl. He took care of me. We got him at the humane society, they had just opened in the early 1960’s. Ever time I see one, it brings back all the love and devotion from that wonderful dog, Thor. Pal is adorable and such a good boy.

Beautiful dog. My fav breed. Have a long haired gsd rescue and adore her. One of the most gentle dogs I've ever had, yet fiercely protective toward strangers.

Yeah the little ones are terrors/terriers.

Pal is the goodest boy 🤩 And he sheds _almost_ as much as my ginger cat.

What a beautiful representative of his breed! And such a good sport under stress.

German Shepherds are so beautiful and keenly smart. Their eyes contain so much expression and depth...could get lost in their eyes. Pal is a gorgeous precious boy and I hope his 1st grooming experience will lead to much happier in his future. Bless him.❤🐾

Pal & his owner Mike are amazing. They made me feel a bit less silly talking to my boy like a little human. Buddy was the *goodest* of boys & Pal takes after him sooo much. A truly great example of what is possible when you give your pup nothing but love.

Mike is an absolute magic-worker when it comes to these dogs. When Buddy passed, I remember thinking that it would be almost impossible to find another dog that was as singular. But Pal is an absolutely amazingly intelligent, soulful animal in his own right.

Growing up a Gweilo kid in Hong Kong I used to walk to the school bus in Sai Kung with a German Sheperd, she had a purple spot on her tongue so likely a mutt. A Swiss family owned her but she walked us kids to and from the bus every day, so gentle and playful to.

I cannot express how much I LOVE German shepherds ❤🎉 best breed in my opinion 😊

Beautiful dog, very well behaved and sweet. He looked beautiful after his groom!

While brushing Pal, he sounded like my dog Duke whenever my dad leaves- he's a German Shepherd Ridgeback, he's about 4-5yo now, never runs out of energy, and we cant really take him anywhere because of how exited he gets seeing other people, he still needs to be trained and stuff, but he's a good dog, and lets us know about every car that passes by our house

I’m always amazed by the ear expressiveness of GSDs. I have always had Labs and their floppy ears, all you see is a little ear movement and a lot of flap. GSDs give you the whole range of ear expressions! You get the face AND the ears! 😊

Wow Lupa is such a big girl…always amazes me how quickly puppies get so big so fast

Pal was a very sweet boy! Even shared some kisses. It was so funny when he realized what the nozzle did and he went "oh no my feetsies!"

GS’s are smart like that. My GS understood me like that. It was amazing. Sometimes I would think something and look at him and he would know what I was thinking.

What a gorgeous GSD! They are amazingly expressive. I think I've seen more close interaction with dogs on your channel than I have in real life, so I really notice the difference now. I giggled at all the kisses. "I'm not sure about all this, but you're obviously an alpha, so I'm going to show you I'll be a Good Boy for you." What a sweetheart! Amazing groom, and so much fun seeing him playing with Lupa. Also loved the tribute to Buddy at the end.
