We used to have 4, and the male, Zeus, was a big intelligent goofball. Figured out how to use the doorhandles in the house. He was trying to get out the back door to see mom, but the outer doors had knobs. He almost had it, managed to lock mom out of the house!

We have always had German Shepards in our family. Sunny is 13 now, a sweet darling boy. Zuess is a two year old, who was rescued a year ago. A few problems Learning quickly. One of the smartest dogs I have ever meet. Both beloved members of our extended family.

Biggest babies on the planet ❤ Outside they are “ the great protectors “ and growlers but inside…huge babies ❤

I did wall to wall tile in my house. There are a coupla "floater tiles" that are hollow underneath, and my shepherd knows exactly where every one of them is. He likes to get a hard chew toy, and drop them on those tiles.. BAM! Like a gunshot. Only does it when I'm ignoring him.

Shepards have to be one of the best breeds of dogs, they seem to be smart enough to have a more developed sense of humor, only downside is how big they are and immense hair shed.

I live with a six year old male GSD, and this compilation of Shepherds doing crazy shit, reminded me of Max. The one thing he has never done is bare his teeth among his human companions; with his dog buddies though, all bets are off. But again, never in anger with dogs at the dog park (an absolutely beautiful facility here in Northern Nevada) with all breeds. I am a lucky old man to share my later years with such an amazing animal.

I love how the second one fussing with his dad apparently over human food knew better than to bite dad and instead bit the back of the sofa he was perched on! 😂😂😂😂. I also had a Chihuapom named Banjo that was 15 lbs fully grown and often mistaken for a German Shepherd pup and he would do that side to side head tilt as we spoke to him! lol. Unfortunately my Banj passed away very unexpectedly on December 15th last year just short of his 10th birthday which would have been New Year’s Day. My precious Mama had been living with us since last May and she was in Stage 4 COPD and passed away on Thanksgiving Day last year. Banjo loved his Nana to the core. He would actually jump up into her hospital bed we had for her at home and would either sleep on Mom’s belly or curled up beside her head on her pillow but she took a bad fall and fractured her pelvis on Halloween morning so we had to add a longer bed rail on both sides to keep Banjo down and he would sit beside her bed looking up at her and crying loudly. We truly believe that he died of a broken heart but he’s with Mama now and that brings me comfort ❤️🙏🏻🕊️♾️

I am not my shepard’s parent ! He is my companion! I look after his needs and expect good shepard manners He protects me and expects good human manners We are good companions. He has been a special gift for 13 years. I must admit the puppy years were often funny but often exasperating.Now we go everywhere together and enjoy!Real German Sheperd people get that responsibility that goes with an amazing breed of dog!!

@@user-yh5gz2qr2n good shepherd manners happens when YOU enforce them and YOU train in those manners. You ARE your Shepherd’s parent. You teach right from wrong. You socialize your dog to others be they people or other dogs. You are the dominant and your dog is your pack of sorts, your subordinate. That doesn’t mean you don’t love your dog less. Pack instinct in your dog IS an instinct. Real German Shepherd owners, as with ANY breed, responsibility goes with it. All breeds are special.

Some of my training with my 2 year old dog is touching her the way my grandkids do. I no longer let them give her treats from their hand because the kids aren’t consistent with how to give the treat. I bought a long spoon and am teaching the dog to take a treat that way, that is what the kids will use. Think of your dog’s behavior around children.

Lucky you. I have one old beloved companion I have been blessed to have him for 13 years. He was a hadful when he was a puppy ( very smart) matured into a lovely fellow; dedicated and well mannered . I am not his”dog parent” The kindness and respect is mutual.

My Getman Shepard is often bullied by a parrot and a cat. He is very polite and considerate but hates to cuddle when they try ne close🌿

Not only funnier smarter also.

The dog biting his owners hand over a toy is a no no. You don’t let your dog put his teeth on you ever!

Absolutely! No dog should ever be allowed to bite you. You are the master, not your dog. If a dog thinks it's ok to bite you it will do so when you won't thinks it's so funny anymore!
