that actually would be a good idea for a parody of the smith joke in a review. now if only i knew where doug got those gloves. oh, and i'm NOT painting my face white and becoming a sith lord. i'll make the helmet, but only that far. i'll just take a dip in the shower to make my skin white.

Dennis Williams the way I'm seeing that drive working is a sort of space folding or jump drive (makes wormholes) so they didn't really go through the sun they just went into a temporary wormhole near the surface...also explains how it was adapted into the time machine because in theory wormholes can go in space as well as time

If there's ANYTHING Hollywood has proven millions of times, it's that a bigger budget doesn't make a movie better. So that's how it could be this bad with so much money behind it, Critic. Money doesn't mean anything in Hollywood, except when a group of executives is discussing how to MAKE money.

Still love how right at the very start of the movie Doug complains about the statement that the nations are no longer at war by claiming that there is no peace since there are terrorists. It's almost like he considers terrorists to be representative of their countries :P You can have world peace but still have terrorists. The definition of world peace is that the nations of the world are at peace. It's like you can have a peaceful country that still has criminals. As much as they were trying to make Matt Le Blanc look like an asshole, it's the chick he flirts with that has a real attitude problem. Sure, he asked her for dinner, on the first meeting and so soon that would be very inconsiderate and forward but then she essentially insults him for being a war hero... Those people that have kept people like her alive long enough to even get this mission to another world set up... oh forget it. I don't even want this movie to try and explain what a "Fusion Pulse" is.... At least try to sound scientific instead of what an 8 year old thinks sounds scientific.

Just because someone fights to keep you alive, does not mean s/he is entitled to sex as a reward. Saving someones life does mean that said saved person owes and, must repay, with that life. People aren't slot machines where if you put in something good, eventually sex will come out. Either you fight for human life and dignity or you can STFU

Matthew Cavalier I think the lack of politeness in her response is equivalent to the rudeness of his approach in the first place. Notice how he never actually exhibited any interest in her work, interests, or character (you know, HER, as a person), but makes crude innuendo to her in front of and to her father "thats a cold fish I'd like to thaw?" within earshot? Are you kidding me? To get a complete picture of the situation, he took the liberty of disrupting a woman he doesn't know while she's working, no consideration of etiquette, personal boundaries, or safety (what if she was handling something dangerous?) and then insulted her, in public, to her family. That is not deserving of a polite "no thank you," its deserving of exactly what he got. Here's a really good tip, don't insult a woman you want to ask out on a date, its a shitty strategy.

The credit's song (a remix of the 60's Lost in Space theme) was made by Apollo 440 and it was a top 10 hit in the UK back in 1998.

To be fair to Gary "I can play literally any character you need and be memorable" Oldman, he was pretty faithfull to the original Dr. Smith from the show. Of course the original (can't remember the actor) was legendarily hammy, so his Smith was actually a bit understated. Oh, the pain...

That was definitely one of the best moments of the film. Ironically that was done because Matt LeBlanc was unavailable for filming that day so they used a double, hence the kickass armor helmet.

I am so happy that Lacey Chabert, the younger Robinson daughter, got HOT, (just watch the 2005 movie-teen comedy DIRTY DEEDS, it stars Milo Ventimiglia), and that her voice does not sound like, well like it sounded here. Anyway, this movie was a MAJOR disappointment, And the original TV show was, well, 1960s terrible, which is, in modern terms, SO VERY TERRIBLE.

Fun fact Guys. Back in the day Gary Oldman gave a cheeky interview to a Mexican magazine called "Cinepremiere" in which he candidly said that he had accepted the role because he was tired of being offered only villains and didint see Dr. Smith as a bad guy but as a misguided idealist. He also said that he used his paycheck from this space turd to get "Neil by mouth" made and it was well worth it.

Films like "Lost in Space", "Twister", "Independence Day", etc. from the 90's will always be in the "Guilty Pleasures" section of my heart. I was born in '88 and grew up in the 90's, so sadly, a lot of the films Nostalgia Critic has reviewed from the 80's and 90's are films I grew up on, either seeing them in theaters in the 90's, or watching my older sister's video tapes from the 80's. So unfortunatly, I still enjoy this film, even if it's only for the nostalgia of seeing it as a child.

This movie's attempt at copying the TV series camp tone was even more pathetic... But then again... Jar-Jar Binks aborted fetus... that joke alone nearly (nearly) made the movie's existence worth it. But then, when they're saved by "the power of friendship"... well, it was so embarrassing... it still is. I couldn't watch that scene again, had to skip this part on this video.
