Watch the past versions first. They are different visions and both totally worth your time. When you see Rob's version then you will be able to see the tributes he pays to the previous films along with his own twist.

Having just discovered that trailer a half hour ago, I'm sitting here thinking how much I love Eggers' work and up pops your video:) Why am I not surprised that you're a fan of him, as well? Does it release on Christmas day by you, too?

Eggers is such a great film maker. All of his films so far have been incredibly captivating with The Lighthouse being one of my favourite movies ever. This trailer looked so good and pretty much gives me no reason to doubt that this will be amazing. At this stage idk when it is going to release where I am. Australian release dates are all over the place. I think based off releases around this time I might get to see this as early as the day after Christmas or early January. I remember I saw The Lighthouse about 6-7 months after the US release. It has gotten better overtime but for a while it seemed like Australian theatres were only interested in whatever the big studios were doing and that’s it. This was so frustrating when many places like the US had the blu ray available and the theatres here are saying “see it first at our theatre” it’s so dumb but I am glad that I am noticing that happen a lot less.
