NORTHAMPTON & LAMPORT RLY- 'Model Weekend' June 2024:

Something different this weekend......
My first ever visit to this lovely little railway located in rural Northamptonshire a few miles north of Northampton and only 13 miles off the A14 at Chapel Brampton.
Not being really interested in the 'model' aspect of the weekend, I focused this video on the full sized versions in the shape of the bright blue Class 31 Brush Type 2 no 31289(D5821) 'Phoenix' and 3718 Hawthorn Lesley 0-4-0 saddle tank 'Swanscombe No4' which has been given 'weathered' treatment.
Each taking turns on the scheduled passenger services and the brakevan rides. The timetable must be one of the easiest to follow with trains departing Pitsford & Brampton on the hour and Boughton on the half hour. 6 trains were scheduled this weekend from 9am (Usually 5).
Not familiar with the reversal & alternating loco proceedure, I found the station staff very helpful in explaining it and thus was able to be in the right place at the right time..... with a little smart legwork I might add and some 'creative editing' I hope you find it an enjoyable watch. If you've not yet done so, give them a visit sometime. The facilities are good and they will be glad of the support I'm sure. nlr.org.uk/
NB: Filming was done on Saturday 1st June.... It was sunnier on Sunday!!

Not been to this railway but I have passed it while driving, but I have seen videos in the past Brian. Its great to see a class 31 but I do not like that livery, cheers for the upload regards Mike.

I decided I needed a visit and quite enjoyed myself. Yes, I agree that blue is a bit too bright but still sounded nice..... and yes, worked on a few myself 😉. Regards, Brian.
