Happy memories of these engines thundering through Melton Mowbray at 9pm every evening with the mail train back in the 70s
What a great video. Brings back memories of these versatile workhorses, utterly unglamorous but reliable. Great video. Thanks for the memories.

Many thanks! 😊👍
Great video. Used to see the class 33 with 4 wagons and a tram end carriage through the chiltern line in the 70’s & early 80’s

Yes, I enjoyed putting this compilation together. Planning to do some others -maybe Class 33s next, or 37s?! Cheers, Geoff @ OldOakTrains.
New version uploaded in order to correct a loco numbering issue - apologies 🤫
the 1st time I bashed 31444 was from Goole to Doncaster on the 30th June 1984
Classic locomotion
They had a very distingtive rattley sound as did the class 33s good old engines good old days .

Thanks for commenting Nick. Glad you enjoyed it, more Loco themed compilations to come….. cheers Geoff. 😊
Ahhh, toffee apples , was it just the 31/0s that had the power handle that the driver had to take with him when he changed ends .I was told that the power handle looked like a toffee apple so thats how they got their nickname , i was never sure that someone was pulling my leg or not. Does anyone know the truth and real fact on that . Thank you all .
