Dynamic implicit step is the only step of Abaqus/Standard solver which can be used to solve nonlinear dynamic problems.
In this tutorial, we will compare the results obtained by dynamic implicit and dynamic explicit steps.
Also the settings of the dynamic implicit step will be discussed in detail.
One of the most important issues in the post processing of the nonlinear dynamic problems is
the way of applying filter on the results to remove the numerical noise for better understanding and interpreting of the results.
In this tutorial, the Butterworth filter is used to filter the reaction force curve.

I appreciate your effort to make this presentation, these videos for the nonlinear analyses are great and helpful to realize when it is better to use implicit or explicit method!

Hi, Thanks for the video. I have a contact between a soft shell and a stiffer beam. when I check the data of acceleration on the surface of contact (on both parts), I find lots of high peaks and chattering. Do you know how can I solve it (dynamic implicit) ? I do not want to filter the results as you explained in the video.

Hi. In solving the contact interaction, chattering is an inevitable phenomenon. But there must not be too much chattering. Maybe you must refine the mesh in the contacting regions or even change the element type. To give more accurate solutions or suggestions, you can use our online consultancy service. In this service first I check your model to find out the mistakes. To use our online service, please send an email to me: mirzabozorg71@gmail.com

Could you briefly explain in comment how to give sinusoidal loading (Fmin=100N, Fmax=1000N, frequency-0.02Hz) in dynamic implicit solver. Please help
