    Thanks, Fred. I am sometimes amazed that I have a place to live and food to eat. I'm amazed that I've managed to remain in this body 56 years. Who could ever keep themselves alive? So much is required: heart, lungs, food, shelter, etc. It just happens through some incredible intelligence and power, which certainly isn't mine.

    Hey Fred - thanks for this video. It’s such a relief to know I that I don’t need to try anymore because I can’t do anything anyway. That thing you said about ‘can’t do anything, can’t stop trying either’ is so true as well. It’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I’ll have to swing by for a session soon. I guess it’s also never possible to make a mistake spiritually because everything we do is by definition ‘correct’ - even suffering. Thanks man 🙏🏻

    “Take a rest on resolutions”,….I take this as to take a break from doing and trying/forcing life and that includes becoming enlightened - (so to speak) ”If wakening occurs that’s good, but it’s ok if it doesn’t.”… Think I’m more ok with this now than ever before. I feel the urge still there, yes,…but think that’s ok too (maybe). Love your take on things Fred. You’re the most enlightened unenlightened guy I know. 😉 I find that’s quite a thing these days.

    Hi Fred I want to ask for clarification. Im known among my friends to be quite a debater against non duality teachings as I find the practices impossible to apply. In particluar the "Being aware of being aware" The "non practice" taught by Rupert Spira. I see it as impossible for awareness to be aware of itself. Awareness can be likened to the sun. It is undeniably present but only shines at objects. The sun cant shine on itself being that it is too intimate with itself too close to itself. Awareness being that its formless you would never really know if youre being aware of being aware. And generally speaking I find you cant isolate objects that are in awareness. Especially the sensation of the body. Some non duality teachers say its not located in objects.. As far as this abiding as awareness thing goes. Isint that contradictory? If consciousness is all pervasive how can being aware of being aware not include the objects of experience? Im not trying to debate with you but wondering if you can clarify this? My point is or view rather is that awareness can only shine on the appearent seperate objects but can never know itself directly because of its formless nature. Thank you for anything.

  • @FredDavisNonduality

    @FredDavisNonduality

    I don't debate; it's useless and endless. But what you say here, "My point is or view rather is that awareness can only shine on the apparent separate objects but can never know itself directly because of its formless nature," is essentially correct. We can know OF That, but That itself is unknowable. It's prior to language, thought, or experience, and none of these can know what is prior to it.

  • @TheCripple192

    @TheCripple192

    It seems that you're searching for awareness as an object. You appear to be seeking a subtle experience that you can look at and say "hey, I've found awareness", and you're right to see that in fact you cannot. Awareness cannot "seek" itself as such. But if I ask you the question "are you aware" , what would be your response? I'd imagine yes. As a matter of fact, that's the only thing you KNOW, to beyond a shadow of a doubt. You can question literally everything else about your experience; your body, whether or not your perceptions correspond to a physical world, whether this is all a simulation or a dream, ect. But what you cannot doubt to yourself is that you are (conscious). Who that you presume is aware of that fact besides awareness? Awareness is the only one that can know that you exist, and that you are aware (the two are in fact inseperable) so by simply acknowledging your own being awareness knows itself. Home this helps.
