I’m so envious of Michael, his knowledge, and experiences. Ever since I was a boy I had a love and passion for martial arts. I never had the opportunity to take lessons cause money was always tight. Wasn’t until I was 18 working my butt off to pay for lessons in the city that I could afford. Unfortunately a year in, my instructor left to pursue a career in film. It was time I decided to finally go to college so I could get a better job to take more lessons and learn more but in the absence I started a family and it’s just become so difficult to manage to the time but everyday I spend some time trying out different techniques and concepts. Practicing what I’ve learned in the past. Still, I’m ache for more and legit training it eats me up the days I don’t do something related. Eh I’m so envious but life goes on. One day.

Or in simple terms caught your opponent off guard ..whether he maintain a good stance ,did he have a good guard,is he ready to throw a hook ,cross, jab,is he gonna step in. So if you have a good technique you will came up with a counter to everything within a few seconds..but in real life scenario it will have to be split second..does this help u?

What about power? Being a smaller guy (around 80 kgs) should I prefer this way of punching over traditional boxing? I’m actually learning boxing but I “practiced” Jeet Kune Do when I was a kid. And by practiced I mean I just learnt jabs, movement and the philosophy. To me it makes a lot of sense to throw punches in a way that they can’t be intercepted. However, the boxers I know say that it won’t have as much power as the rotated traditional box punch.

I have been trying to copy this technique on my own on a heavy bag. I remember the old Kimbo Slice video and used to try it here and there but never was able to try it in sparring with no partners.

I'm actually awestruck by this video. I Actually was doing something close to this jab as A kid. I Mean It was terribly unrefined but still effective against bullies... I never knew How close I was to its proper form til now.

I saw Jai do this to that blood n bone fighter at the end of the movie. Looks like it's not just acting. Nice.

I work inside a jail and I’m planning on taking jiu jitsu and I would like to take martial arts. I want to know what kind of martial arts should I take. The only self defense technic I have only taken is karate but that was about 15 years ago and I hardly remember the techniques.
