🤦‍♂️ you can’t watch a fight scene without any context and expect to be emotional invested. This goes for all mediums: movies, shows, and anime. Hell I’ll equate this to reading a random chapter of a book instead of starting from chapter 1

You simply cant compare an anime fight scene to Marvel or live-action fight scene because there are always some limitations to live action; choreography, cinematography, emotion, etc. which doesnt exist for pure animation. Maybe you just like seeing actual human actors fighting and moving around, but thats just a preference for a different discussion. I get that it can take time to actually get used to and understand the visual art and fluidity of fights in anime compared to live-action, but if you experiment with and watch both mediums long enough, I still think anime fights are objectively better.

This is actually not fully the truth while Obito did say he let himself be stabbed he never said he held back against Kakashi or lost the fight on purpose it could also be interpreted as Obito decided to fight Kakashi knowing that Kakashi would end the fight using Raikiri.

The amount of emotions oozing out in these scene in exceptional . This fight is so sad.

You can't show him a end of series fight with no context and expect him to feel about it the same way as a Marvel movie where he has context for their emotions and motivations. Show him Gaara vs Lee and just say "Lee is a underdog who has no fireballs or magic abilities, just straight hands and enhanced physical strength/speed. He trains daily doing hundreds to thousands of reps of exercises just to try to compete with his teammates and rivals. His opponent is Gaara, a kid with the power to control sand who has a demon inside him that makes him leagues stronger than the average person and gives him nearly impenetrable defenses to the point where he has never even been touched in a fight before.." I guarantee that little bit of context will make this fight so much better than watching it blind like what happened here

People seem to forget that this fight scene wasn’t meant to be just cool and epic, but a sad turning point for the characters in the story. Yes, it’s amazingly choreographed, but that shouldn’t be all that it’s known for. It may even have the same impact as watching a film where a man fights for the woman he loves as he kills himself in the process. Context is always important, hence, you’re never truly feeling the experience.

you should maybe show him the final fight of naruto vs sasuke or maybe something like goku vs jiren and/or gogeta vs broly

I feel bad for the guy that knew the fight trying to get the other 2 guys hyped and failing. The BIG thing about this fight is the emotions that run behind it. If you are not following the characters and the stories, this goes on like another anime fight, a well done one, but not at all distinguishible. Comparing with Marvel, these guys probably did follow Marvel movies so they get invested in the fights and characters the same way they would, had they been following this anime.

They would have been convinced that anime is the best form of media, if they were shown Death Note.

What people don’t understand is that obito was able to pull signs off even with his fingers and hand twined with kakishi’s because it’s his sharingan in kakashi’s left eye. Even though ninjutsu is used through the persons chakra, sharingan multiplies many fold. Simplest terms their chakras are connected.

Show him Mob Psycho, the first time Mob goes ??? in the alley way. It doesn't need too much context: his brother is being kidnapped, he's a powerful psychic, and he gets angry. And then from there it's just beautiful colours/animation. Btw you earned yourself a sub, the video and audio is high quality and I liked the overall vibe :)

I don't really see the point of watching random fights tho, like especially Naruto, not only is there a huge amount of lore that goes into all the different abilities and techniques to understand the fight, but the emotional weight of the story is what really makes it good. If you're just watching it without any story context then you might be like "oh that animation and choreography is pretty good I guess" but that's gonna be the extent of it. There's a reason this fight happens 500 episodes deep into the story.

The fight is pretty odd without context to be honest, it really takes the focus off of the right when you don’t have context. Regarding the Marvel statement; I’m assuming he’s referring MCU since not a lot of people talk about the beauty of certain marvel comic fights. (Especially on Thor’s part.) If I read Naruto and Sasuke during Part I without reading the prior chapters and volumes then I probably wouldn't be as invested because I just want to know "Why is this even a thing?".

I can FEEL the disappointment, as I feel the same hahahah It's like, 'How can't you appreciate this as it is? A freaking masterpiece'! Regardless of any kind of meaning, this fight is awesome, very grounded regarding jutsus and all, but the meaning behind that... After all, Obito ending up fighing Kakashi, with that soundtrack... The problem is he showed the sub instead of the dub, if you ever are showing Naruto to someone and they dont watch anime, always show the dub especially if they are American and they understand English (doesn't apply to a lot of other shows but the dub in Naruto is better unanimously). There always gonna be people turned off by subs, look at Squid Game for ex. God awful dub but there are people who still refuse to watch it in sub no matter how badly synced the voice acting is.

Obito wasn't going all out in this fight otherwise he would've destroyed Kakashi. He actually needed to get pierced like this in the chest to take Juubi in his body and become the new Sage of six paths. So this whole fight basically just him toying with Kakashi and using him for his plan. It was still crazy to watch the first time tho.

He may not like the medium. Anime fights have some of the best animation and flow. Most are better than live action choreography because you can actually an animate every frame. It takes a lot of time and dedication. Just like live action movies. Everything has its time and a place

Groot did 1st Hokage’s Deep Forest Emergence, Thanos does Madara’s Tengai Shensei, Dr.Strange does Shadow Clone. They all go by different names but the visual was exactly Naruto anime and games which all came b4 MCU did the CGI. MCU straight ripped off Naruto and nobody said nothing. 🤦‍♂️

@@SK-pc8ni If you want to discuss comics fine. My Marvel collection alone spans from 1968-2011. My 1968-1980 collection was passed down to me from my older cousin and our uncle before him. From 1980-2011 is all me. Read em all. I don’t collect anymore but read digital or borrow from friends. The way these abilities are portrayed in the comics or MCU have never been this way. Keep in mind the Naruto manga, anime, and all of the Ninja Storm games were released years prior to End Game. The artistic depiction and the animation of powers mentioned were unique to Masashi Kishimoto and the animation studio. Naruto manga ended in 2015. End Game released 2018. I challenge you to site a Marvel Comics reference prior to 2015 (Title, vol, issue #, date), where any of the MCU visuals of the powers I previously listed (Groot, Thanos, Iron-Man, etc…) had been depicted in the way that it was in the movie. I’ll wait…

I think anime fights are better because of the angles for the cameras doing fighting. Real life can’t achieve the kind of choreography an animated show can. The motion seems more fluid in anime and it makes dope hand to hand scenes seem so intense where as in real life it’s never that epic. Though marvel has good fights they don’t compare to anime fights.

There was definitely a better fight you could’ve showed him, just because this one you really need to know the backstory between the two characters to get the full effect of the fight. I think maybe pain vs Naruto could’ve been better

I don’t think it’s right for first timers to see this fight. They don’t understand the magnitude of the situation. The whole series built up to this fight that nobody knew would happen. It’d be like telling someone before they see the book of Eli that the main character is blind.

The difference between anime fighting an marvel fighting is anime fighting always has a reason an its usually dark that describes the characters in it or can set up a huge plot twist that makes everyone feelings go in a ride.
