That dude is a genius I mean not only is he making guns out of meteorite and gonna make an absurd amount of money off them but those will be around for forever and will be worth 100x more in 100 years from now and will be the holy grail of any gun collection....... but the reason he is so smart is the media attention he got from this bold move ...... I mean it really put his company on the map and not only on the map but on the top shelf as well so ya he will make a killing of the pair of 1911s but that's nothing compared to the free media attention and now everyone knows his company and if you collect guns "like I do " one of his pistols (of course not the meteorite pistols )would be the jewel of your collection ....... this is a man with his shit straight and knows his stuff

His work is rewriting the rules for what guns mean and therefore what they’re worth. It’s our responsibility to be open minded about new ideas that could ultimately lead to new people fighting by our side. Because the only way (a) firearm could sell for that much money is if there was a market that appreciates them for more than what they do - for what they represent.

As a person with a love of, and a teacher of, science (Astronomy, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, & Marine Biology), and a love of the 1911 (I own over 30 various models), I teared-up when I first saw those guns two years ago. If I could sell my house and have enough money to buy them, there would be absolutely NO hesitation! A melding of my two most favorite passions in my life...science & guns!

I am fine with the meteriorite gun as a piece of fine artwork, but let’s get real. A 1911 needs a design update. Chambered in 10mm or .45 super and a higher capacity. Browning was a genius and his design was brilliant, but is dated, and so is .45 acp. I am 6’-2 with big hands and a double stack 1911 feels just a bit big and heavy for me. Something in between like CZ97 size with 12 rounds of 10mm, or .45 super. I am not a gun purist, but an engineer who knows a dated design. All it really needs is an updated frame, a fully supported chamber, and some minor updates. The trigger and the aesthetics are perfection. Cabot should do an update!

As it's been said. We NEED guys and companies like CABOT for the firearms industry. Even if he's coming out with outlandish guns made of moon rock and oddly is able to ask ridiculous money for them...a material that is so foreign it has no value (as other "rocks" have or metals). Nor do we know how durable it is as a frame and slide fro a gun. Will it be stronger than any metal? Or will it shatter into dust after the first round?? Be kind of a shame...paid $2M for one, fire first bullet...it's powder. :)

Not sure what Collin means @ 3:39 "Worth more then your car, sometimes worth more than your house"? Then you go on to mention people fighting for freedom? You are one out of touch SOB if you think the people who take the responsibility of fighting for our freedom, could do so with a budget that would allow a home or a car worth anything close to what only one of those fancy piece of garbage guns are worth. I still want them though.
