NO singer is that good when they first start. Most songwriters sing their demos doesn't mean they are good but as time went by Noel's voice did and has gotten much better. He can hold his own with many now.

He really nailed it when he sang Don't Look back in Anger! His back up vocals became stronger and he had to step up to the front man when Liam had his tantrums and refused to sing. Noel always ALWAYS put the band first even if it came at a high cost.

He's always been a clever dude, Noel. Instead of getting lost trying to "produce" his demos as we all tried to do with cassette 4-tracks (a total and utter impossibility, since it's a toy you're recording with), he kept it simple. Vocal, bass, and a couple of guitars , and sometimes an "organ" pad (probably a cheap keyboard). But still managed to get his musical ideas across. You can tell he's working on his songwriting and performing skills, and creating basic guitar arrangements, instead of trying to get great sounds with a toy.

Lol. I always got frustrated with 4 track machines back in the day. When attempting to get a quality sound always finding you need some other gadget to go along with the 4 track. This process is repeated over and over until realizing the 4 track machine itself isn't good enough. I bought mixing consoles, EQ's, compressors, limiters, effects racks, mics, and all sorts of things to not much effect. Would have been best to spend that money going to a studio!

Ya know if you really wanna do something when ya get out of ya school years, i believe the inkling is secretly already there. Sometimes as a kid people just laugh at ya; so you keep things to ya self, until you know start to be a bit good and might at some point be able to follow through, even very late in life, sometimes an opportunity shows its face to you. I have being doing a bit of song writing myself, did dable when in english lessons at school, teacher said my poems, would make good songs, always kept that at back of my mind. No where as good as Noel, but know I can put a song together. Glad Noel Followed through.love his music lyrics and melodys.

Lol, there is a _lot_ of instrumental music out there - avant garde instrumental jazz for a start... let alone The Swamp Song as someone else pointed out.. so very nice of you to point out some technical stuff and that Bach/Beethoven are composers (Wow! I didn't know that! :P)! Ok, lets get technical. A song is sung, a 'track' doesn't have to be. But also a 'song' doesn't _HAVE_ to have lyrics. Technical/'correct' dictionary definitions aside, we all know what the word "song" means, come on!.

They do say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, so I'm not criticizing you, Jezzabel4, but you really didn't need to point that out!. It's like you're saying you're on a higher platform or something than the rest of us 'common' folk, when really what you posted has no real point to it... Just appreciate the music and don't get so picky!. I mean, the word 'song' is open to a lot of interpretation, but it's pretty obvious that to most of us it simply means a piece of music, sung or not. Cheers.

How can you judge the entire career of Oasis on an early demo tape? So many of their songs are amazing, Supersonic and it's B-sides (Oasis' B-sides are often better than their A-sides!) and all that came after until "Standing.." which is more psychedelic and not so many quick hooks but it's still good, all their albums are.. You can't say that "Some Might Say", "Whatever", "Rock'N'Roll Star" etc are shit, they have great lyrics, riffs and melody, and Noel's hearts in the right place. Your loss!.
