TAPE 2 - "NOEL'S SONGS" (1989)
The second tape, which contained five tracks, was believed to been recorded by Noel in 1989. Only one track, 'But What If...', was unheard, with the other four songs being on the 1988 tape, although it's unknown if the recordings are exactly the same.
1. What's It Got To Do With You?
2. Hey You (aka No Cause For Alarm!) / 02:00
3. What's Been Happenin' (aka I Didn't Think So!) / 05:30
4. But What If... / 08:31
5. Gotta Have Fun / 13:22

He has such a knack for melody. And an awsome positivity in his songwriting. Even all these years ago.

Jeez. I'm just a year or two younger than Noel. In 1989.... I was still in college. I was a studying/drinking idiot. And he was making music. Great for him. The thing about Noel is that he didn't fall for the negativity of grunge. Or glam or whatever trend. He played what he wanted.

that's why oasis made such an impact when they burst on to the music scene. they weren't techno or grunge or glam.

It's amazing to see how much Noel has progressed in 2-3 years. In 1992, he was writing songs like Whatever, All Around The World, Hello, Half The World Away and had already written Live Forever. The progression is just amazing.

The Stone Roses influence was always apparent. But this sounds more like The Smiths.

he was a massive smiths fan growing up learning to play guitar and write songs in his bedroom at home.

Really? I don't get the Smiths influence at all. It's more like Oasis.

Any one who plays starts by playing their idols stuff, then their own. Great way to develop a basic sound of your own. Well done Noel.

Johnny Lennon Noel was 22 years old when he penned this.
Oasis were the best thing to come out of the 90's. Hands down.

Principal Vernon well there were nirvana, he did speak to an entire generation. But everyone is entitled to their opinions and oasis did make great music and live/rock/alternative music needed a band like them at the time

@@oliverread2532 Fair play. I'd say it was Oasis & Nirvana... But the first, & so far only song of the 90s to reach 1 BILLION streams was Smells Like Tee....??? What??!!! It was WONDERWALL??!!! I said maybeeeeee.... (JK😉. No maybe about it!)
A bit of up in the sky in 'Hey You'
It’s respectful he released this. But at this point he really doesn’t have anything to lose. Inspiration to songwriting
merci pour cette demo...très intéressant sur le style noel gallagher
awesome!!! some years ago I found some of this, actually, in 96´s kkkk...lots of time ago....they were very small pieces of songs....thanks for this post!
a piece of history
This is fantastic recording. Noel realised fuck this. Liam still struggles to realise. It doesn't make him bad person. It's so hard when you are outspoken and say things you regret. What Liam said to his brother about his mrs and children is virtually impossible to forgive so I understand noel. Liam might have been forefront in oasis but now he's learning the hard way
Fuck!!! 13:22 I thought it was Talk Tonight!!!. Anyway great tune...

Great strumming guitar. I found it more like The Smiths and The Cure.

I'm struggling with my addictions and say stuff I regret after.
Creo que es un genio.

These songs are amazing! I can't believe none of them made it onto an album, or at least onto a single as a b-side...
A journalist should ask noel his opinion about this being in youtube.
