I've always believed that Noel Gallagher's acerbic and crotchety exterior is more of a schtick. He is a true romantic and a sentimental dreamer at heart. He would never admit to that but you can hear and feel it in his songs.

I feel like the brothers public squabbles’ have changed the both of them for the worst…at least in terms of their public personas. Every interview they do now has the obvious elephant in the room of whether the other brother could/should be brought up, and so they both feel the need to keep a tough exterior in case they have to dismiss the other one. Takes away from their usual personalities, imo (especially Noel, Liam’s gonna do Liam ether way)…

They were kinda drugged senseless and started trashing the equipment and the stage, though. All the while wearing sellotape on their faces. But even then, Gay didn't lose his mind or his Irish warmth (of which he is a prime example).

Just came from watching the late late tribute to gay Byrne where they told a story about Noel. After the Omagh bombing they had a 15 year old girl who was a pianist in the crowd who had been blinded in the bombing. Noel gave gay Byrne a signed copy of she’s electric to give to her (she was an oasis fan) on the condition that she never give up music. Top bloke.

He couldn’t have known then his positive lyrics and uplifting tunes would lift my soul (and countless others) from the depths of depressions to the highest highs. I’m sure others can relate. They enjoy a good joke.. But he cracked a. Joke at the beginning abouy not being able yo spell his own name, and gay took it pretty seriously, so the vibe of the show it wouldve been rude to Gay had noel acted up.. Thats the thing noel and liam arent fools... People that deserve respect thwyll give it them... Those that dont they dont Give a shit.. Great performances from Noel , I remember as a young lad watching this interview and being blown away by this guy sounding so good with just an Acoustic Guitar. I started getting into Oasis in a really big way , And now all these years later after teaching myself to play Guitar...I can play all there songs and I have wrote a few songs myself. I also really like The Beatles too. Anyway...Thanks for the Inspiration Noel , Forever Grateful...Mark Glynn Ballyfermot Dublin 10 Ireland...!! #TheChief #NGHFB #Oasis #TheMasterplan #IdlersDream #LiveForever

That was was the best Liam acoustic but it still wasn't as good as this. He goes a bit weird on the chorus in that version. I think Noel voice suits this song so well on acoustic. Why he doesn't do it with NGHFB I do not know.

What a really insightful clip. He was a young guy here at the height of the Oasis fame. Not always sure people understand the natural talent Noel has as a musician/ songwriter. 30+ years he's been writing & performing at a top level, some of the best known songs of a generation
