I've always believed that Noel Gallagher's acerbic and crotchety exterior is more of a schtick. He is a true romantic and a sentimental dreamer at heart. He would never admit to that but you can hear and feel it in his songs.

I feel like the brothers public squabbles’ have changed the both of them for the worst…at least in terms of their public personas. Every interview they do now has the obvious elephant in the room of whether the other brother could/should be brought up, and so they both feel the need to keep a tough exterior in case they have to dismiss the other one. Takes away from their usual personalities, imo (especially Noel, Liam’s gonna do Liam ether way)…

Just came from watching the late late tribute to gay Byrne where they told a story about Noel. After the Omagh bombing they had a 15 year old girl who was a pianist in the crowd who had been blinded in the bombing. Noel gave gay Byrne a signed copy of she’s electric to give to her (she was an oasis fan) on the condition that she never give up music. Top bloke.

Think it was more gay byrnes personality he seemed like a nice guy, so noel didnt have to act up... Noel and liam act up when they around interviewers and people they dont like.. They enjoy a good joke.. But he cracked a. Joke at the beginning abouy not being able yo spell his own name, and gay took it pretty seriously, so the vibe of the show it wouldve been rude to Gay had noel acted up.. Thats the thing noel and liam arent fools... People that deserve respect thwyll give it them... Those that dont they dont Give a shit.. He was just being respectful to Gay cause he seems like a nice fellow.

+TheOriginalMoc Except Pop Will Eat Itself, with them he was not a caring grandpa, he was a moderately (and probably appropriately) annoyed and scornful grandpa. They were kinda drugged senseless and started trashing the equipment and the stage, though. All the while wearing sellotape on their faces. But even then, Gay didn't lose his mind or his Irish warmth (of which he is a prime example).

Top bloke.

He made a song for the future, you can still hear it in the radio nowadays and even in television and anywhere you go. Even on Spotify its a big hit still. Its crazy how he wrote this song back then, it is literally a song for the future...
He looks like he's about to cry whenever he sings and that's what attracts me

So great to see Noel back then. Little did he know where he’d be sat in 2023. A rock n roll legend. Just a gifted, gifted songwriter. He couldn’t have known then his positive lyrics and uplifting tunes would lift my soul (and countless others) from the depths of depressions to the highest highs. I’m sure others can relate. They enjoy a good joke.. But he cracked a. Joke at the beginning abouy not being able yo spell his own name, and gay took it pretty seriously, so the vibe of the show it wouldve been rude to Gay had noel acted up..
