Sam Campbell is like an Australian Bob Mortimer, he knows that his story telling is funny as hell and will take every opportunity to spin a yarn or tell a true story and you often can't tell which is which. I watched some of his stand up and not my cup of tea at all but his unscripted banter and interactions with the others on taskmaster has me laughing out loud. Edited to say I just watched his 2022 Sydney 'companion' special and I take the comment about his stand up back. 🤣

Underrated moment when Sam says "the first Samurai to move will often be slain" and Alex is just so shocked because he has genuinely no idea where this is going

'Child of divorce' is in my top 10 TM lines, sitting with Paul Chowdhry's, 'Bastard's cryin', innit.'

my favourite aspect of a comedian is unpredictability... and for most of this season, I had no idea what Sam was going to say or do next. Loved every moment of him.

Absurdist comedy, I guess it is. Another Australian comedian who has been very funny on some British panel shows with that style of humour is Sam Simmons. 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown especially, which I think both Campbell and Simmons have been on

I saw his live show in Melbourne tonight - it was completely unhinged batshit genius hilarity

I used to play in an indoor soccer team with Sam. One night I was dropping him home after a game, he made some joke from the back seat. My other friend said 'I dunno about that joke Cambo, that's a pretty long bow'. He was quiet for a beat and then said 'The longer the bow, the further the arrow flies'. I damn near crashed the car, I laughed so hard.

Lucy worries Greg, in the way that she might need a nurse to follow her around and stop her hurting herself. Sam worries Greg too, but in the sense that he ought to be followed by a policeman so he doesn't hurt other people.

The choatic team of three running their hotel was peak TM camaraderie.

His KZread-special (COMPANION) is a work of art. True comedic genius. He's a rare talent, I hope he gets all the love he deserves. No matter where I've seen him, he's always incredibly funny & unpredictable.

"Smoking Kills .... Weaklings!" is not there.

One of my favourite seasons. I wasn't massively excited when the lineup was announced, just because I wasn't familiar with a few of the guests, but it turned out to be one of the best ever.

Looking forward to eventually seeing Sam Campbell on a Champion of Champions installment...

Sam is a wonderful example of how Australian and British humour melds so beautifully, the Americans like to call us cousins but I feel far more of an affinity with our Aussie mages...him and Lucy together was genius....😁👍🇬🇧

The fact that Sam regretted his trip to Croatia because he didn't make the most of his time there 😂😂😂

"online" is to this day one of the funniest things to happen on Taskmaster. Because the whole bit of telling an unrelated story is great on its own, but "online" is just something that sounds written than improvised. Greg asked the perfect question, almost a written tee up but no it just happened.

@@GT_Walker maybe for some. But they used ‘absolute casserole’ as the ep title and that moment definitely wasn’t ruined. Sam says such an expected response in the context of the task that I think it would still have been shocking and hilarious

you can never predict what he’s going to say to any situation, he’s outstanding

I've never seen Greg and Alex laugh as much as they did in this series and mostly because of Sam

Julian having a little choke after the "cobalt" story is the best, he never reacts like that, ever.

This is one of the many reasons I love Task Master, it introduces you to new comedians who are absolutely amazing. All the contestants are great in their own ways, but Sam and Lucy were my favourites in this series.

"the first one to move will often be slain" is so batshit crazy

Sam would be my odds-on-favorite for TASKMASTER's fourth Champion of Champion series, as he's very artistic (post-it note 'The Scream' was incredible!) and willing to roll with whatever happens (the 'Mischief' task by Susan!).

Sam calling Sue and Susan chicks was funny as they both thought it was really weird, but it's more common in Australia so Sam just thought it was normal.

Sam is either that only child, or THAT middle child. 😂 Absolute legend

This series was absolute bonkers. Having two absolutely chaotic people like Sam and Lucy had me on the floor in stitches.

I’d love to see him & David Correos in some sort of international Taskmaster special - I don’t know if the world could handle such utter chaos though!!! Both very different but equally delightfully unhinged

Love this guy, the Aussie humour is absolutely nuts. His comedy sketch show had me in stitches 'anthead' and 'he doesn't like when he says his name' go through my head daily. Found Arron Cheng through this guy too.

I think I can speak for everyone in the comments, by the looks of things - that we are all in love with him instanstly.

I can't wait for Lucy and Sam's podcast to get going. They were so hilarious in TM! I don't remember when the podcast starts up, but I already subscribed to it.

I'll often watch TM clips whilst having my lunch but Sam Campbell is too funny for that. I choked 3 times during this video before learning my lesson 😂
