"No way were we going to split them up": Local foster parents adopt 5 siblings

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Five young children, all related, were adopted on Thursday by their foster parents.
“No way were we going to split them up.”
That was the message from a foster mom and dad who are no longer foster parents. Now they're just parents.
Every court case has a number, but behind every number there is a person, or in this case, five.
Five children, the oldest age 12, the youngest age 2, were all adopted by their foster parents.
“We can't separate them, it's about the kids,” said Wil Rom, who is now the father of the five kids.
The kids, 12-year-old William, 9-year-old Truth, 6-year-old Mariana, 3-year-old Keyora, and 2-year-old KJ are all siblings or half siblings with the same mom.
Wil and Julie Rom took the youngsters in as foster children between 2014 and 2016 and then decided to adopt them all at once.
“There was never a second guess. It was a package, a package deal,” said Wil.
Judge Ralph Winkler presided in the creation of one big happy family.
“The kids would miss each other if we had to separate them and most of the time they do get separated, which is a sad thing for the children. But these kids get to stay together forever,” said Judge Ralph Winkler.
“We went from a three-bedroom ranch to a five-bedroom two-story. But it's for the kids. It's best to keep them together,” said Julie.
Others sharing the joy on Thursday were friends, family and even a former teacher of the two oldest kids.
“I look at these two boys right now and they are alive right now. Their eyes are bright with wonder. I could not be more grateful to Julie for letting former teachers in who have a piece of their heart in these children, to let them know that they're okay and I’m grateful to you for letting me be here for this process,” said Ann Boyle, a former teacher of the kids.
A lot of the time, people who are in a courtroom are either unhappy, in handcuffs, or both. That was definitely not the case on Thursday.
Court is adjourned. The family is in session.

AliSakurai Indeed! If the parents were supposedly suspect, they would not have bothered adopting the 12-year-old boy at least, who would probably understand and recall anything hurtful done. If they had any malign intentions, they would have simply adopted the youngest few whom could be easily influenced.

SMiles and the Twisted MD I think you misunderstood Meme Johnson's comment. She said "parents come in all races". She just wanted to point out that good parenting is possible regardless of race, and you just accused her of being racist, you called her bitch and you tried to belittle black mothers citing stats without any sources. Well... wasn't it a bit harsh without any real reason?

As a child you really don't have much of a voice. I remember my brother and I crying and saying we didn't want to be apart. Well, my foster mom surprised us at court and she kept us together. I was 12yrs old and he was 11yrs old. We're in our fifties now and that's a moment I will always cherish. I pray that others would open their hearts and homes and adopt♥️♥️

Thank you Jesus for these wonderful people! Color shouldn't matter as long as the parents ensure the children have a strong connection to their own community. As a native person I have noticed many native kids being given to white people who raise them as if they were white, which in my opinion creates confusion...in a perfect world children would always be taught pride in their heritage - omission creates self doubt and self loathing, or at least it has where my people are concerned

Read the cases, most of the time the horrors only come out after the kids are grown and/or 1 gets hurt. Google it. Different races should not be allowed to adopt minority kids or to foster them. Kids should not be "sold" to adoptive patents. It is human trafficking.

queenbeethatme100 Your points are valid & some even make sense.. but how many minority adults are actually in line waiting to help the THOUSANDS of children currently in the system? And out of those adults, how many actually have the necessary means to provide, protect & support these children? Idk the true number but I will say its very FEW as opposed to white adults.. It doesnt make it "okay" for white ppl to continue to adopt minority kids & abuse them but facts are facts. Until more minorities STEP UP & actually heed to "it takes a village..." unfortunately our Black & brown babies will continue to be left behind, discarded and forgotten smh

george fish Sir first of all you spelled my last name wrong, second I was foolish once or twice in my life😅😅but at age 71 years young I find your assumption of me foolish as you don't know me at all , secondly you and no one else is going to change what GOD has predestined. Third I'm not into debates with disrespectful people no matter what color they happen to be, that's not what I do mr fish🐟🐟you go fishing for hate somewhere else you don't want me🐋🐋 I'm a bigger and much older fish😅😅. May GOD bless you mr 🐟🐟🐟🤗🤗🙏🙏😇🙏 PS you are blocked from my comment section. 🚫 REPLY IS NEEDED.

Me too! Sometimes I feel emotionally backed up by the poverty, violence, crime, etc we are subjected to daily. It is so nice to focus on happy tears and clear away the cobwebs of fear. There are still many good people out there and we can reverse our worlds woes together. Live in love and not fear

Mrssewhardtoplease it takes time. It took time in Britain but they got there. And things aren't going downhill. There are more people against racism than there are for. Things are changing in this country. When I was a kid gay marriage was not possible. I was born during the time where AIDS was wiping out a lot of people and gays were being killed. Just because things seem to be going bad doesn't mean we intend to keep it that way. And I've seen a huge wave of xenophobia in Europe so please don't act like racism isn't exclusive to the states

@Dorre Notyalc If you come into the country illegally then you are taking risk of deportation. Of course it is saddening that the parents were separated from the kids, but they knew there would be repercussions if they were to be caught hiding. They have no one to blame but themselves.

I just left my job a month ago as a foster care worker of 11.5 years. And I never get used to hearing adoption success stories especially one of this nature! It takes incredible amounts of courage to adopt 5 children! This road may be bumpy from time to time however in the end it will be very rewarding as well💕.
