Yes! Having a family is the most important thing especially for the child.
I'm a birth mother and my daughter was placed in an open adoption with people who have given her the world, quite literally. She has dual citizenship in the US and Ireland. I have never doubted my decision because her adoptive family love her SO much. She is their miracle. But they are MY miracle. I don't push to be an active part of her life because she was adopted, not by a mother and a father, but grandparents and cousins who love her. Why would I push myself into that? It would be selfish of me to insinuate myself into her life when she had all the love she needs and more. I never wanted her to be confused or question her place in her family. There was never any other reason for that. To insinuate it had anything to do with materialism is insulting.

i never found the point of alot of those cases ,like when the child grows up and wants to meet their "real" parents. It makes it seem like adoption is only paying and borrowing someone elses child because they couldn't take care of them and that might be the case but essentially you're just wasting time , money and love on a kid that will still want that special connection with his "real" mom or dad.
@mirandabrokenberry810

@ intelligent rock.... this is just my opinion, but “I” feel that it’s only natural fir an adopted child to yearn to know the truth about how they came to be adopted. I believe it grants them closure....being informed of all the “why’s” & “how could you’s” help those children learn to move forward in life & realize that in dome cases adoption was truly the one thing that saved that child from only God knows what had the biological parents decided to keep them. Having answers also removes resentment...

@@Ian-dn6ld Not sure if you got to that part of the video. When the mom said that she was referencing the birth father. Many times when a child is adopted the birth parents are not involved. Many adoptions used to be closed because birth parents wanted not to be identified Then there are other cases where the birth family has been deemed unfit to care for the child. Or even the times when the adopted parents don't want to confuse the child. I know someone that had a child young, knew the adoptive parents, spent some time with the baby for years and the adoptive parent kind of asked her not to come around anymore; which is within their rights. To say this is our child means the family is open to share with the birth father.

This made me smile. Three of my older cousins are adopted, all of them are black. I am white. When I was 12 I remember going to the movies with one of my cousins who was almost 20 at the time. Someone asked me if I was okay and needed help. I was really upset because of that. That was the first time I realized my three cousins looked different than me and it made me so sad that other people weren’t okay with it. Now we make a joke of it in public. When people freak out seeing the white girl with a black man we tell them we are cousins and start ask them if they see the family resemblance between us. Then we usually make the same goofy face like crossing our eyes and sticking our our tongues before laughing and walking away from the people. We also hold summer tanning contests each year and winter paleness contests every year. I’m the undisputed champion of the paleness contests but I have yet to snatch a victory in the tanning contests from my cousins. One year though… soon… I need the strongest tanning booth ever…

I absolutely Love this family. As for the Lady - the MOM, I would be so honoured to have her as my friend. I admire her so much ! The future should be for people like these parents.
I'm also a birth mother and adopted my son out to a wonderful lady who is now one of my closest and cherished friends. She was with me when I was going into labor all the way until she was able to take him home 3 days later. I stayed in a room that had a queen hospital bed and she stayed the entire time. It was truly a beautiful time. Now almost 7 years later we are still close. Our child knows he came "from my belly" and has recently asked me to make him a brother 😅. Kids truly say the most honest things, and it's fantastic. Now there are some people that to this day (7 years later) that ostracize me for my decision and calling me heartless and selfish for my decision. I wasn't young like this gentleman in this video, I was in my mid 20s. I wasn't ready to raise a child and the boys birth father was toxic to be around. I didn't want him to be raised in such an uncertain dynamic. He's in a home where he's the center of her world and is loved beyond measure. My whole family loves his mom and him and we are his bonus family.

I told someone once, who said he was adopted, and actually lowered his head when he said it, I told him, "I respect kids who were adopted more than the ones who were born" and he asked why, and I said, "think about it, when a kid is born, you get whatever pops out, you don't have a choice, but when a child gets adopted, someone said, we love YOU so much, we want YOU to be a part of our family" You should have seen his face light up, the big smile that crossed his face, and the way he raised his head, he was proud.

@@BS-dq1kz I agree that a parent may place their child due to financial considerations, but as I said before, the reasons are varied. Even when it's financial, it's not always "we just don't make enough money", it may be " I am too young and immature to support a child right now." Some families are able to support the couple, like my 17 year old parents' family when I was born, but some are not. The young man was 17, but the birth mother might have been even younger. Also, adoption can be a hard but beautiful thing. It is bittersweet, for sure, but the hope is that it's more sweet than bitter for everyone involved.

@Apple Pie "supports" like give more to parents to take care of children?
"No Bump. Still Pumped." Love it!
I wish we could all radiate the positivity and love this family does. The world would be a much better place❤️
Most people grow up being taught that blood is everything but they fail to realize that it’s not blood that makes you family it’s the love that makes you family has nothing to do with being related because some people are related and have no connection at all while others are not and couldn’t be any closer to each other it’s not the blood it’s the bond🤱🏾

My brother and I bonded over super glue. We had to use nail polish remover to break the bond.
