Thanks Daniel! Allot are definitely confused on this one. Hopefully it clears it up with many. Even with a "drop" test on the counter, I verify by weighing them all, takes 2 seconds..even though finding the 82D SD Copper would be like hitting the lottery a couple times. Just never know.

There is quite a few more transitional error coins that are mentioned in “Strike it Rich with Pocket Change” book if you’re interested. They are all worth big money.

Oy, I knew I should have used my HS graduation money in 1982 to buy penny rolls! 😂 Daniel, from your experience is there a higher probability of finding the Copper 82's in Mint and proof sets, or were they just randomly dispersed?

I just got my hands on thousands and thousands of coins that were thrown into jars in the early 80s and we're never touched or opened until recently. Found a fair amount of grade worthy coins with errors I can't wait to get graded.

Based on my decades of experience when you’re finding lots of mint errors a couple of things are occurring. The searcher doesn’t understand the coin minting process nor how sending coins off for grading cost or works, and if even some of the coins are mint errors 99% or better will not be worth the grading fees. I have a Cherry pickers video you should watch and stick to looking for those coins I mention in that video.

​@@CoinHELPu I already did. As well as all of couch collectables videos on it as well. Bought a good coin scope. And went through well over 10k coins and like 80 hours of looking through them to find around 250 that have something going on and/or just are in really nice condition. One of them being a 1985 that's a very high mint state coin that also has a large dye clash on it. The coins been found before but in worse shape and sold for around $75 bucks if I remember right in bad shape.

And it will cost you $75 to have it graded, that was my point. I am glad you’re finding things but when you find that many most are not going to have value or very little. Good luck.

Guess I better go through the bag of copper 82's I've tossed with the other copper I've found. Only keep them for the copper.

I wouldn't mind finding one of these, but I'd never buy one. You could buy a circulated Gobrecht dollar for that much money and it's a true rarity. Or maybe a very high-grade matte proof Buffalo nickel.

No it is not.

I looked on Ebay and there are dozens of 82 small date Denver copper cents listed! With out fail all will have a picture of a large date cent. I don't know if these people are just getting excited and shutting their brain off or if they are trying to run a scam. Same with the comments in all of the 82 cent and 92 AM videos, many comments from people saying I Have This Coin. But, yet none of them will post a video showing it

I went into a coin store for the first time since the 1980s and it was really strange. It looked like someone needed a front for something illegal and had to look like a coin store but weren't really looking to sell anything. There was a couple four-foot display cases with mostly common cheap buffalo nickels and mercury times, the kind of coins a 10-year-old might collect. The rest of the store was miscellaneous supplies like coin tubes and albums. I asked if they sold bullion and the kinda hem-hawed and said that they sometimes handle bullion. I told them I was interested in graded coins, and no, they don't handle graded coins. They didn't at any point try to sell me anything or suggest they had more interesting coins hidden away somewhere. I just left the store shaking my head. It's possible they are there just to buy coins, but you think they would have more than just album filler coins on display even if that were true.

I have 8 of these gems....may sell em as a group 🥸⚖🤔
