It is A legendary song, you will never see this kind of art again.
This has always been my favorite song of theirs. The instrumentation is so cool and the way they layer it all together with the understated vocals is like a shoegaze or dream pop song, genres I love. I could listen to this one over and over.

I do listen to this one over and over. The driving drums under the ethereal singing is just so unique. I heard Pentatonix do a cover, focusing on the melody and harmonies but no beatboxing and I was so disappointed because the drums are such a huge part of this song!

Love this song. I often put it on repeat when driving.
Definitely she was one of a kind! Her voice was so amazing! She could move me to tears with her voice
Lawlers drumming and Dolores ' siren celtic cries are still a sound i will never get tired of hearing all of the band just blends so well together in everything they played
Doloris was and is amazing such a beautiful voice
So glad you commented on the drumming - Feargal Lawler is an amazing drummer and he really adds something to every song, but never gets any credit for it anywhere!

They always get forgot and yet they are the soul of the band; without them they are just noise

Came here to say this too. Fergal’s an amazing drummer who doesn’t get enough credit.
Dreams is fuckn epic man! I'm from Ireland and have lived her all my life. You can come across the most harden criminal and they will love Cranberries. It's embedded in us and do you blame us? What a bloody voice she has! Best female vocalist ever and probably would be to this day only got mental health, ffs!! Glad you enjoyed it dude. All the best 🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪❤️🇮🇪
Loved this song for decades. Just shows you don't need to massively scream/project to be effective. Love it and so unique.
Wow. She was so beautiful! ❤
Anton, I agree with you... The drumming is incredible. He's so unique with his sound. Huge talent! I love it!!
God bless our darling Dolores, may she sing with the angels now. I don't think we'll ever hear her like again. Beautiful lady, may she rest in peace.
I love their unique sound. I listened to them in Highschool. They are from Limerick, Ireland 🇮🇪
Dolores was really proud of their initial songs.. Dreams... Linger and Zombie.. she wrote them.. and was so open to people covering them.. she loved that people would sing her songs. This song was i think her first attempt at making a hit song.. it so good you refer to the boys in the group...their amazing musicians.. i can only imagine how lost they are now.. they released a new album after Dolores died.. using her recorded vocals 👏 their still a young band.
Great band with a great catalogue of music, RIP Dolores Sweetheart ❤️🏴
Fergal Lawler is such an underrated drummer, ditto with bassist Mike Hogan. I guess when the lead singer is Dolores, everyone in the band gets overshadowed, lol. But i’m glad you acknowledged Fergal’s drumming.
Sings like a angel

Yes, and now, she really is one.
I always thought the musicians in the group were so underrated and rarely akcnowledged.
Such a beautiful wonderful song 🎉
She was someone who famously mastered the Traditional Irish vocal style called Keening. That’s the sound that’s similar to yodeling. Her range was crazy beautiful. I’ve loved them since their first major U.S. album and they’ve stayed a staple in my music catalogue. ❤❤❤❤
One of my faves from them. My all time fave from them is No need to argue (the song), so good! You should try it.
I love her voice and this song. You should watch the Woodstock '94 performance of this. It's so joyous.
Queen of Eire 🇮🇪🍀💚
Love Fergal's drumming so much, he s sooo underrated guy The song reminds me childhood, just first sounds make me always smile
Would love to hear you react to "Linger" by the Cranberries. Such an awesome song that I reckon you'd love Keep up the good work

Lol we can't forget "Linger "🤣
The voice❤️
Thank you for checking out this song man, this song is amazing. Definitely check out Linger, Ode To My Family and When You're Gone too
I remember this song as well as Zombie and Linger, I think ive heard these played on the radio or when i was out somewhere back when i was growing up, i am now 30 :) I was sad to hear that Delores passed in 2018 :( My uncle Joe passed the same year too.
She really was the best 🙏
Hey Anton, thanks for a great Review... yes 😀 definitely a big Dolores fan, 😉 This was a very early sound for the Cranberries back in the early 90s. They have a very varied sound in alot of their music collection.. even touching on some Rock vibes.
This song has always haunted me... in the best way! Though, this is never the video that played on TV. But am glad you seemed to have something to say about it. The Cranberries' sound was so unique!

This is the video I have seen 99.9% of the time. I do recall though seeing another video with a horse or unicorn a couple of times as a kid.

@@chriswhamilton yes Dolores with a microphone walking through dublin and irish countryside, there a stray white horse in it... and women cloaked in black.. then there the original pilot video where it the band themselves.. Dolores with bobbed hair lol
Nice reaction, man! Two other cranberries songs you might like to react to are "The Daffodil Lament" and "Ridiculous Thoughts".
R.i.p 😪 one of the best singer.
You should check out a Chinese singer called Faye Wong, who has covered this song, featured in the movie Chungking Express, which she starred in too. She also covered Tori Amos, Everything But The Girl, Sundays, and lots of Cocteau Twins. One of the most popular Chinese singers in the 90s.
I always loved that song....that group in fact!!! Dolores had an unique voice. It's beautiful! Thank you again :)
The guitar reverb is a lovely addition to Dreams. A similar vibrating guitar sound is a major part of 1985s A GOOD HEART by Feargal Sharkey and also 1986s THE LAST TIME by EURYTHMICS. You might like to give those songs a listen Anton. You Little Thief was another great Feargal Sharkey song from my youth! A real banger.
Great reaction Thank you for not pausing the video while playing, it ruins the flow. Thank you, love from Ireland
Gran trabajo, muy buen análisis
It’s one of those songs that’s nice occasionally. I enjoy it but don’t listen often. On a cold winters morning if you’re cooking breakfast and this is playing-it hits 😂
It’s such a shame she died so very young! She was so incredible and it makes me now always sad hearing her songs, even so I love her music. “Linger” is probably my favorite
There is a different (Original) when this first came out (same soundtrack), when she was 18, and not glammed up, had not had her teeth fixed, etc, but wonderful none the less. Her singing is so wonderful, many miss the great drumming.

Ah it an early video...but the group decided on this as their offical release after Dreams became a big hit.. There 3 videos
Oh, Eileen, where have you gone? I miss you when I hear this, my Irish princess.
I was on vacay in Cali Nov 2021 and decided to do an impromptu day trip to Joshua Tree. This song played on the radio and it was such a vibe! Now whenever I listen to this song it takes me back to driving through the desert in a convertible with the top down lol.
The structure of the song is interesting
Another great talent gone way too young. Delores was a brilliant singer. R.I.P....
Excellent reaction Anton i was hoping you'd review this jam. She was 1 of a kind 🙏❤️
🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great vocals again by Dolores. 👍
React to Linger please
It's always gonna suck when l think of the music still left for her to make.
The producer of the album that this was on, Stephen Street, also produced the last album by The Smiths, as well as some of Morrissey's first solo work. If you listen to this song or "Linger" and mentally separate the music from the singing, it kind of sounds Smiths-like.
@jackjackson3769

They had alot of influences...and I think the smith's may have been one in particular.. but this song became a even bigger hit as it was released before "Linger" , and then they broke into the US with "Linger" . making "Dreams" a even bigger Hit then on the back of it.. I really feel they were finding their feet and sound with "Dreams".. it so simply written... she was a teen when she wrote it.
Why don't you react to the other video of dreams? It's beautiful 🙂
