First...after learning about passing of Dolores after I made this video I got emotional again. RIP Dolores. This song captivated me, moved me and caught all my attention. I listened to it 10+ after making this video. This is simply...timeless.

You should listen to Zombies by the Cranberries. It's a bit different, but definitely makes a statement.

Five Finger Death Punch actually was planning to do a cover with Delores in 2018 of Zombies, but she passed before they were able to get together. They ended up doing a tribute cover instead.

You will definitely love the PTX cover. They were very respectful of the original, it feels like a tribute to her, but PTX-ified of course.
Beautiful song..Beautiful voice..Dolores had the voice of an angel..RIP..
the song was used in the movie "you've got mail" staring tom hanks and meg ryan in the 90's
She and Sinead have extraordinary voices!! This song is very melancholy, in between happy and sad. Love it, and love her, RIP Delores!!
Every time I hear her sing it sends chills down my spine. What a voice.

Dolores had such a voice that Pavarotti wanted to sing with her. Ave Maria. And she did it the best. WOW!

Goodness, I didn't know this exited, thank you so much for mentioning it
As The Cranberries fan for over 30 years, it made me so emotional to see someone listen to one of their songs for the first time and react to it the way you did! Bring back those childhood and nostalgic memories and reminded me of how much I've loved listening to their music.
People tend to get emotional when the angels speak to them.
Celestial Voice, Nuff said. RIP legend!
Certain female Irish voices are mesmerising
Holy crap. You had exactly the reaction I did the first time I heard this (and still do). I immediately teared up, and have no idea why.
You can feel the irish soul! Rest in peace!
I love Delores and her impeccable Irish "keening". Her voice is truly glorious.
Such a beautiful voice, RIP Dolores, no one compares to you ❤❤❤
The lead singer's first name, "Dolores", means "pains" in Spanish. That's exactly what listening to her voice gives me, in the best possible way. Every time she opened her mouth to sing a note, her voice had this beautifully sombre and melancholic quality which still hits me in the pit of my soul. I'm sure there are many others who share that sentiment. I love her. ❤

I'm from Limerick (where the band are from) and this morning I was teaching Spanish and Italian teens in an english summer school. All week we played this song and got all the classes together in the hall to sing this song for fun. It was just amazing. Really was.

Yes I can imagine 😌
It's making you emotional because you are hearing the voice of an angel. I also love the drumming.
"Zombie" and "Ode to My Family" are two really personal songs from the Cranberries, with two very different sounds. Both are pretty essential listening.

@@vic-2200 Vic "Zombie" makes me cry too. Absolutely. The song can obviously be many things to many people so I am not trying to take anything away from you regarding what you get from this song, but I felt it was important to clarify the song's original intent since I think the message Dolores intended is important. The singer wrote this song in response to a splinter faction of the IRA bombing a shopping area in Warrington, England in 1993, which injured many and killed Jonathan Ball aged 3 and Tim Parry, age 12. It was part of The Troubles, an ongoing conflict that had lasted years in Northern Ireland. Thus, if you've ever seen it, the images in the music video for Zombie show real footage of the actual walls with paintings/graffiti referring to the Troubles as well as real British soldiers with guns. The video was shot in specific areas of Belfast. The footage was shot during the Troubles. Best wishes.
I am so happy you are so understanding of how special the songs you reacting to! I grew up with the songs and for your age you are unbelievably talented in getting what these “oldies” mean to all who grew up with them! Love all your reactions!
What you are enjoying is an Irish Lilt (breath voice) and the la la portion is known as keening a wail or cry that was often used to grieve at an Irish funeral
I *love* the first time reactions to hearing Dolores sing. She packs so much emotion.
More Cranberries, please. You will be glad you did . . .
A angels voice ❤️🤘🇮🇪

She has it all no one compares to her
She has a voice of angels. Now we will never hear her sing again. RIP Dolores. We still miss you.
Ah yes, Delores's voice was definitely one of a kind. She is greatly missed.
Dolores O' Riordan had the voice of an Angel! She was also a brilliant composer! Their Whole Catalog is Wonderful!!
Dolores sang ALL the vocals, even backup. She was sheer original talent.
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this... But it is funny how you keep mentioning this should be a part of a soundtrack, because for a couple of years now I can't listen to it without expecting to hear the voice of Erin Quinn from "Derry Girls". This was the song played in the most important moments of the show. I read somewhere, its use was approved by Dolores herself right before her untimely death - as she was initially involved with the soundtrack. This song is perfect for a show whose story focuses on a group of teens going to Catholic School in Derry, Northern Ireland during the Troubles. It is funny, sad, ridiculous, poignat, etc. And it is the main song of the beautiful depiction of one of the most important moments of recent history - the signing of The Good Friday Agreement - as seen through the lense of teenagers just leaving school hoping for a brighter and more peaceful future.

You've just opened the catalog that is Yhe Cranberries... you will absolutely love their music. RIP Dolores
Celtic women have the most beautiful voices. The yodel, the keening high notes...❤
Funny how even in a very very poppy song it is still always a Dolores song and full of the keening of the soul.
IDK how somebody goes to life without having heard this song before. But great reaction my man, Dolores and the Cranberries were special!
Weird you say that it could have been used in a school drama set in the 90's in an emotional final scene because it was used in an amazing show 'Derry Girls' set in the 90's and was used in such a perfect way as it played as the Good Friday Agreement was passed in Northern Ireland in 98 - a monumental moment for peace - it's brings me to tears as a child of peace (12 when it was signed!)
Dolores and the Cranberries never fail to transport me back to my college years in the 90s in Chicago. Her voice makes me cry too, in a nostalgic way.

👌👏... Oh to go back to that time, one can dream.
The Cranberries were a great band. Dolores was a beautiful woman who wasn't afraid to speak her mind. I was gutted when she died. The band did a college tour of the USA and did get played on radio.
The voice catch the deepest feels of your heart, so sweet, tender, soft, like a mother singing yo her child to sleep. SalvoG a great reaction
can’t believe you haven’t heard this song before. it’s always played on the radio. it’s a great song!
As an Irish woman of course I love the Crabberries. Dolores was taken too soon. She does Irish keening fabulous. Pentatonix cover is beautiful. You should listen to their song Zombies. Great reaction 👍

Her voice had the ethereal qualities…the voice of an angel…
The “backup” vocal (heard several times throughout the song, and especially in the outro) is actually Delores, recorded on a different track. Many female singers with distinctive voices do this. Joni Mitchell, for instance, often sang the harmonies, especially on some of her early folkier albums.
One of the best albums ever produced. Rip beautiful lady ❤️
Dolores Ó Riordan incorporates a lot of traditional Irish vocal inflections found in Sean nós .Which is traditionally sung in the Irish language and transposed to English. Many Irish singers including the Corrs Incorporate many aspects of traditional music in there vocals. That’s why it’s very emotional One of the inflections from the tradition of Sean-nos is called keening. She also sings in her Irish accent not American
The PTX cover is worth listening to. Mitch kills it. He insisted that they cover it as a tribute to Dolores and it is very respectfully done.
Her voice is captivating. It grabs u ❤️🤘
Perfect reaction and really considered response. D O'R, RIP.
That would be the Dolores effect you are feeling. Direct emotion to voice interface. The reason for why The Cranberries were so loved. It was Dolore's life story we were hearing. Pity this particular relationship went bad, but they guy she is singing this about is the male vocalist at the end.

❤️ thanks for sharing this, you're spot on. 👌👏
This song was played in many movie soundtracks. It’s just so freaking good it fits in a lot of different areas genre wise. Dolores’s vocals are just so sweeping on this song, considering she’s written it herself along with 65% of all the songs that the cranberries ever did, came from Dolores. As young as she was at that point, she had a way of drawing on melancholy, and injecting it into her lyrics. It’s amazing if you think about it, her music has an affect on people that’s so profound. God I hope I made sense, lol
I felt this way every time I hear the Cranberries.❤
I'll never get tired of hearing Dolores' voice 💚. look forward to more reactions of this incredible band.🎧
Delores went to be with the angels!!!!! Where her beautiful soul belongs!!!!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Delores was so amazing.
I miss Dolores every day! She was an angel in her own right, and had a voice like spun silk. I still have hair goosebumps every time in all the same exact places each time I listen to Dreams 💔
"Linger" next!!! You are emotional because she has the voice of an angel.
Listen to her singing "Ave Maria". I can't get through it without crying.
your voice and your presence here in this world was a gift for us, unforgettable woman
Finally you got to the one. I can't wait!!
Everything seems to stop when Dolores sings. She was pure Magic.
Dolores had a beautiful voice and a beautiful gentle soul… RIP 🥲🙏🏻
In Ireland I would say this is their most enduring song. It's played after big sporting events and you definitely hear it quite regularly compared to their other songs.
Ptx did a cover of this and it will make you feel like you are in heaven.

Hi from Limerick, Ireland. Dolores was a Limerick girl with a glorious, unique voice. The band were much loved and she will be forever missed.
This song appeared in the 90’s movie Boys On The Side with Drew Barrymore, Whoopi Goldberg and Mary Louise Parker which was a drama/comedy teen movie. I love this song and The Cranberries is one of my favorite bands.
I've always been fascinated by this song and this vocal performance. I was hesitant when PTX covered it, even though it was PTX who I KNOW I can trust, but I couldn't imagine what they would do. They did a heavenly interpretation, and Mitch truly honored Dolores's iconic vocals beautifully with his artistic choices.
Definitely an Irish angel's voice in this one, always loved this song... I like to put it on a loop and play it over and over again while driving... also was a theme song to "Derry Girls"....
My favorite song by the Cranberries.
"You've Got Mail!!" Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan♥
Check out their song, Zombie.
Such a sad ending for her , the world lost a true God gifted talent. I have a hard time listening to it for obvious reasons. Love your reaction. You nailed it.
Some songs need the vocals to shine, some songs need the rhythm to shine. This song is the former because her voice is so beautiful.
They did a "Tiny Desk Concert" for NPR. It was really good. Dolores' 1994 Woodstock performance of Dreams (also on YT) is just quintessentially 90's in every way--she was great.
7:20 First person I've ever heard notice that this song was designed around the vocals and not the instruments. This guy gets it.
the teen movie (TV show) vibe you got is spot on....'My so called life' with a very young Claire Daines and Jared Letto!! They don'tmake TV like that anymore..Angela chase and Jordan Catelano, oh the memories. Dreams was played in an episode. Cranberries were amazing and Delores is missed so much in Ireland. May she rest easy!
It was also used in the movie Shop Around the Corner with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks. Love it!
Ode to my Family and Linger are a must!
This was pretty emotional , the lyrics on screen and our beautiful gorgeous girl in the background. So often I watch Dreams' An icon and truly amazing band. Night night beautiful girl ❤❤❤
Bring back THE CRANBERRIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP DOLORES.
I was emotional when I heard it when it first came out. Still makes me emotional all these years later. Such is the beauty of this song and the pure voice of Dolores. ❤
this song has been in a few of movies and series.. thats right ya. i like this song. now she is singing it for the angels in heaven 🙏
Queen of Éire 💚
In 1992 I was in high school. MTV Brazil was huge. cranberries, nirvana and other bands were part of my life. At the time I had no real idea that I was living in a unique moment in music uring the difficulties of my teenage years and life
I absolutely LOVE your reaction the moment beautiful Dolores starts to sing! . . . . She had the same effect on me - i remember where i was, what i was doing and the fact that it stopped me in my tracks. I simply could not believe my ears - an actual Angel was singing, and she brought tears from deep deep down in my psyche. She still does. The Cranberries were very special. Dolores' voice was unique & spellbinding. Thank you so much, so wonderful to see the effect her voice had on you and to hear your raw, genuine appreciation of the band & Dolores truly unique & remarkable talent.
Yes, please do the PTX version!!!
Dolores O'Riordan was so amazing. Noone expressed the Irish perspective like she did. She was a true treasure.
This brought back so many memories of high school
Thank you so much for reacting to this, no one ever does and look I’m not hating on Zombie, but Dreams is way fucking better, idk why everybody thinks Zombie just slaps or something, this is one of my all time favorite songs in general takes me back to simpler times, it makes me emotional as well it’s such a freakin beautiful song and I just don’t understand why no one else thinks so, anyways keep up the good work bro
I bougt three cd's of Cranberries at the same time that they appear, in one stay this song. Greatings from Uruguay. And QEPD Dolores O'Riordan
I'm nearly years old and have been a music fanatic for decades... I listen to music across many decades and genres... and this is still my favorite song :)
It's such an amazing song and so sad she's gone. i would've loved to hear her sing with Aurora. If you haven't heard her yet you should listen to Through the eyes of a child live at Nidarosdomen, the entire concert is amazing though...she's sort of like a Norwegian/modern version of Dolores. She'll make you cry in a good way. Her voice is absolutely, phenomenally angelic.❤️
Her voice is so unique, I love her, tears baby 😅, I really love zombie.😊 Great song, sad but perfectly announced.
The look on your face was the same as the one on mine when I first heard the cranberries… Linger crushed my heart… There will never be another Delores Ó Riordan
Ever since she passed away, this gets to me EVERY FREAKIN TIME 😞
Definitely do Zombie, very powerful message about the troubles in Northern Ireland
