A cool car indeed

Just on the roadster CCM, mine was water damaged. Wish I could add a photo. The small board at the bottom when mounted in the car is the first to go. It controls the remote keys etc. It is the same as that in the coupe. The rest of the CCM is not. But I could not find a roadster CCM at a reasonable price or known working condition. So I bought a cheap coupe CCM, with no water damage, I unsoldered this board, and soldered it in to my roadster CCM. Job done. As you said there are often work arounds.

Thats great work! this is the problem with some breakers as there is plenty of people selling used parts but half of them dont even test what they are selling which when your paying 3-400£ for something isnt ideal

•• Cracking & Leaking fuel and this part fuel line was longer 8L9133986C / fuel rail supply /return line for Our 225 BAM •••lastly there is no other option than Purchasing fuel hose 8mm (3 inches diameter) 14mm outer /6 inches than now I’m boiling hot water to bend the hose as close as the OE 😂 I know it will not happen but at least close to the design for assembly)* The most expensive little hose set if there is left somewhere still however (£150 + ) Cheers

Great video Dom, As you say, while there’s plenty of scrap cars about then will still be able to get second hand stuff, but I remember when there was a Sierra on every street corner, and scrap yards had rows of them, then in a short period of time, they just disappeared and now getting bits is hard. I somewhat think the same thing will happen with TT’s, especially the rarer ones like the 3.2’s. I try and buy a few bit’s when I can just to have some spares. I’ve just changed the brake discs and pads on my 3.2, and have kept the front disc’s as they weren’t actually that bad at all, and could be re-furnished, as there getting rare (and expensive…) LLL parts is also a good site for diagrams and part numbers as well.

The 3.2's are certainly on the rapid decline as the chains stretch / dsg issues they are coming off the road as people just dont wanna invest the money to keep them on the road. That matched with the fact the visual parts fetch strong money it makes sense. LLL parts i will have to give that one a look thanks for the info

The hazard switch is available in Germany for 80€ new. Audi Tradition Shop is also a good adress for original parts

in recent years audi tradition are not fond of sending to the Uk so this is a little bit of a problem for us haha

The hazard light switch can be replaced with the later model which was in newer Audi/VW cars I think. The new switch has the "three blink indicator" which is a nice feature to have.

The switch itself is different and wont mount into the dash in place of the original one though, you can buy a module that goes in circuit that gives you the three clicks option, done a video about that :)

Very useful vid Dom, especially the car part numbers link! Had a ot of trouble geting drivers door actuators new for my 3.2, there are a lot of different types.....could you do a video on door actuators for all models please it would really help!

@@TheParrottBros thank you sir! its insane, the doors all look the same but what's inside isn't! and both sides of the car are different too! you often find sellers claiming the part fits your car, i even had them confirm it after i questioned it, and yet still the actuator didn't fit!

Pcv pipes from hockeypuck to t-piece

Belt tensioners NLA - though I have a brand new one available

For the flasher module mine went and I didn't want to spend $50+ for a new one so I ended up getting $12 worth of relays and spent about an hour removing the old and soldering in the new ones as well as redoing the solder on some of the connections. Well worth it.

@TheParrottBros could probably do a video of it. It wasn't terrible and soldering is a very good skill to have. Especially with old finecy cars. I redid the solder on the dome lights as well, I know that's a common issue. Was super easy.

The rear valence, honeycomb or even a standard to paint, are NLA. the bumper is available but not this little additionnal part. This could be complicated with insurance in case of a small shock.

Often insurance company’s are keen to write cars off if parts are no longer available and with market cost of these cars right down atm it doesn’t take a lot.

Yes this is one of the harder parts to get, to my knowledge there is a company in europe that make replacement boards so these can be repaired but im not 100% on this

It's a relatively cheap part (~£40) and easy enough to replace - my EGT was throwing a P1455 code so I bought one from Andrzej, but I only ended up needing to re-solder the main joints of the original PCB in the end 🤙

That must be why the second hand market for them is so strong the last few years, they fetch very strong money now

APX maf seems to only be available from parts direct, it comes from Stuttgart but good news is it takes 24hrs and costs £80!!

Thats not horrendous i have paid over £100 in the past for a genuine bosch one, there are certain things that are made under licence and while Audi / tps no longer make them the original manufacture still does.

Just what I have found whilst my 180 TT was at the Audi main dealership for service and MOT… Brake callipers NLA Brake pads NLA Steering rack / boots NLA Wiper Blades (hook on type) NLA Oil pickup pipe (the one in the sump) NLA When I enquired about a quote for a cam belt change, they couldn’t offer one as they couldn’t guarantee that all the parts were available….. Manufacturers only have to have parts available for 10 years after a model is deleted, but to be fair to Audi Huddersfield they did say that they can source the parts from Audi Tradition, should that prove necessary to achieve the job in their workshop…. N.B. They would only order parts from Audi Tradition if they themselves were doing the work, NOT if I was just to order them for doing the job myself…. ;-)

Thanks for that information, I’ve heard Audi tradition don’t like dealing with general public when it comes to ordering parts. I mean things like pads, wipers you’ll always be able to get all be it not genuine but still just as good. But other things like pick up pipe and rack boots is a bit different.

You’ll have to make a visual inspection to be sure. They are mounted under the steering wheel to the left on a Uk car

Hi Dom I have a my original QS anti roll bars seeing as I fitted eibach uprated set years ago. I'm guessing the rear R32 one is just over 20 mm ?

Stock 225 is 14mm, the r32 rear is 19mm

As of last September can’t get replacement door lock cylinders. Remote keys still available but my local Audi thinks they may go sometime this year 🫤

@@TheParrottBros Apparently so. I recently found out the hard way. The bracket is aluminum and the bolts that mount to it are steel. Bolts break off with removal of the water pump in the bracket. I bought the only bracket listed for sale online from Germany. I hit the lottery though and also found one local to me so the car is good to go now. When I get the other bracket comes in I will just keep it just in case.

@@TheParrottBros not in the USA. I bought two other 1.8t pipes as they are similar. I was able to repair mine and I have the others. As spares, but if forced to use the spare two hard pipe sections are missing. I believe I'll be able to run soft pipe to replace as one outlet on the 225 pipe is not used.

Door locks and micro switches is a good one, I regularly get asked how people can break into their car without breaking anything because they’ve locked their keys in where they unlock the car and the micro which did not notice and they’ve left the keys inside 😂

I kinda panic about having a TT purely because of the parts struggle

Completely unjustified mate, I was like this when I finally had mine delivered.. (we moved and the cars been parked in my work that long the shocks have collapsed on the rear and the ball joints have also failed.. these new are supposed to be hard, marketplace is an absolute godsend 😂 so far all in all this car owes me £40 and it’ll walk it’s next mot
