Great groups. Decent velocity. Impressive rig. Enjoy. Shoot straight.

After shooting a 6lb Fierce mountain reaper in 7PRC the past few weeks I'm extremely jealous of how little that rig you have moves under recoil. If you tried to free grip this thing with your trigger hand like that it will leap half a foot off the bag.

If that gun was perfectly still. There would one hole. Good job making the barrel! Good luck!

I've gotten to a point in my reloading that I don't do much load work up. I recently loaded some 6.5 PRC with the 153gr A-Tip. I just looked up the load data for Ramshot LRT. I went ahead and loaded 5 at the max charge at 65.0 gr and then I seated the bullets to 3.084" (touching the lands in my rifle). I got an average velocity of 3014 fps (27" barrel) with an extreme spread of 10 fps. And the group size center to center was .23" No further testing required. Taking it out for a 1000yd shake down this weekend hopefully to make sure the BC is true and fine tune my drop charts. Then out to 2000 yards we go.

6 dasher is just amazing. It's almost inviting the way it performs. I am waiting for an equivalent long action load in 7mm to emerge from BR or fclass. 7prcw is just the one being talked about there. There has to be something being validated this 2024 season that pushes our idea of a capable elr magnum.

I understand you're looking for a 7mm load. Have you heard about Hornady's fairly new projectiles? Check out the Hornady podcast on their ELD-V/T lineup. I'm going to have to try them in my Grendel. I know Hornady is not making them in 7mm...yet. I'm thinking if they work in the provided samples and prove popular, a 7mm would be in the offering.

The lack of recoil from those benchrest chamberings is no joke. After shooting a 6lb Fierce mountain reaper in 7PRC the past few weeks I'm extremely jealous of how little that rig you have moves under recoil. If you tried to free grip this thing with your trigger hand like that it will leap half a foot off the bag Maintaining sight picture in the scope during recoil is next to impossible.

I’m looking for a 737r. Local gun shops have been looking at me like I’m crazy for asking about it. Might have a source now, but man is he busy.

You could go faster but for PRS they like it around 2800 ft per second so you can spot your hits. That's awesome for no load work. The EZ button

This is why I shoot a fouling/heating "group" after cleaning. Fouls the barrel along with heating it up. Groups looks great with no load development! Glad the action is smoothing out for you. I've been wanting an Impact for a little while now and was a little disappointed when you said it wasn't smooth. I've also been toying with adding 6 Dasher to my arsenal but if you're getting around the same velocities as my 6 BR, I don't see a reason to switch. I've also heard a lot of folks shooting 105 hybrids also trying to keep velocity around 2850 so that must be the sweet spot.

these are impressive groups considering your low magnification (x25 I guess). What is your brass prep? You turning necks?

Can you explain to me what your zero is? It seems like the shots are landing in the exact spot, and i kept thinking, "Doesn't he want to improve the point of aim point of impact?" At 100 yards, couldn't accurate and precise be the same?

  • @SigmaBallistics

its load development, who cares where the shots land as long as its on paper. also, when doing load development and trying to shoot groups (as precisely as possible), you don't want the shots to tear up your aiming point (bullseye).
