No Heat! Easy Heat Warm Tiles GFCI blinking

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I had the GFCI light constantly blinking on my Warm Tile thermostat. This details the diagnosis as well as the replacement. Model FGS programmable thermostat.

I just fixed mine after watching your video. Had to buy the new thermostat to get the new plate but didn't have to hire an electrician!! Thanks for posting this video.

Saw your video. Nice job. My unit is three years old and not used much as it's in a bsmt. Still, today the gfci test button is solid red, not blinking. Reset button does nothing. Nothing in troubleshoot about a solid light. Hmm. May have to follow your path. Thank you

Mine resets but doesn’t heat then after a time…say two or three days the breaker trips…..

Great, except it doesn't address the issue of why these things have such a problem with the GFCI faults. I have three of an even older model thermostat, and the GFCI fault happens intermittently on all of them, with no response from the reset buttons, either. Only turning the power off for an extended period eventually resets them. There is obviously an issue with the circuitry that the reset function does not appear to do anything to resolve the internal fault, or the GFCI functionality isn't adequate for the application, one or the other. Buying a new thermostat shouldn't have to be the solution to what must be the most common failure of these units.

I agree! On mine, turning the power off for an extended time didn't help (unless "extended" means more than several months)

When I called them up they were very insistent on finding out when I had purchased it to see if I was eligible for the replacement. I kinda got the impression I could have told them 'less than the warrantee period' and they would have sent a new one.
