NO FLAT solid wheels tires on TORO TIMECUTTER zero turn mower

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Sick of the flat tires. Installed flat free solid caster wheels on the zero turn mower. This Toro Timecutter 50" uses 6x11 fronts. You will need new 5/8" nuts and bolts and drill the hole larger on the bracket to 5/8".

Thank you. I needed to do this also. Picking up the no flat tires tomorrow. Hoping they fit. May need to drill again. Will see.

I hope it works out for you. It makes a harder ride but not having a flat front tire every time you take the mower out is worth it.

Thanks. I use a Toro ss4225 time cutter and had to go with flat free tires on the front. Darn front tire was always flat. What blades do you use to get such a clean cut and not leave grass clippings behind?

Just found your video. Have a Cub Cadet Z1 46. I went with the same wheels as your but mine are greaseable. Completely did away with bolt/nut. Replaced with 1/2" roll for an axle, transitioned the wheel hole with a 1/2"x5/8" brass bushing. Capped the axle ends with a washer and pin. No different than most garden tractor front spindles. No drilling and wheel spins effortlessly. Obviously, at the start the cavity between each wheel bearing assembly needed grease. Just pump a little grease every 10-25 hours. Works and holds up still today. NO FLATS and EVEN CUTS! Yeah!

Curious how they have held up since it says you made this video 2 years ago. I put some like these on my Exmark Radius E 60" this summer (April of 2023) and I cut over 3 1/2 acres. So, far they have held up. Have a small chunk taken out of one of them and it hasn't spread. I was worried about the amount I cut and how they would hold up. So far they're good. Put about 40 hours on them. They are noticeably bumpier though. Consider that. I cleared out a ton of brush and I kept hitting thorns with the regular tires so I went to this. I paid about $170 for mine on Amazon at the time. Thanks for the video!

No problems with the rear yet. If I did anything in the back, I’d do wider tires so I don’t get stuck as much.

There is a rubber piece that blocks the distance you can push the handles forward and back. You can adjust it. Look up a video on toro timecutter tracking. It shows it all

Toro has a 3 year parts and labor warranty. After the purchase is registered, they offer a warranty extension I think up to 3 more years for a couple hundred. That’s a big deal. Check it out.

Should have been able to take the axle sleeve off the old wheel. The axle sleeve is 5/8 OD by 3/8 ID. Bolts are not intended to be used as axles. Also, the better indicator for bolts is on the head of them. 3 lines is grade 5, 5 marks is grade 8. For residential yoh may get by using a bolt as an axle. Definitely not for commercial. But also wouldn't trust ball bearings for commercial.

@@oxford821 Yes, I believe you're rubbing on the outside race of the bearing. A smaller washer would have touched only the inner race of the bearing. You can still do that - you'd need 4 washers - 2 each side of both wheels. Thanks for the heads up - subscribed and looking forward to watching more of your videos!
