It's pretty funny how Leyline of the Guildpact is both thematically perfect for Niv and helps you cast him easily but is a total non-bo because it completely hoses his ability.

💯 They should have added a clause that didn't count him. I was so sad when I realised they didn't fit together.

The earlier Niv Mizzet animations made me fall in love with the guy. Dude hit the battlefield like a boss. ❤

This build looks sweet. I was trying out a more controlling version with battles and enchantments, as they are permanents that can stick to the board before playing Niv. Basically the goal is to keep the board clear, then use a solved Case of the Shattered Pact and Invigorating Hot Springs to make Niv attack twice in a single turn with haste and deal tons of damage. The only other creature in the deck is Ertai, so with just two creatures and the setup I've mentioned it's possible to kill your opponent in a single attack step (unless they were playing lifegain). I'm still experimenting with finding the right battles and mana base, but when the deck does its thing it's super satisfying.

Based on the guy's follow up plays I highly doubt that was a GG indicating the opponent thinks he won. It was more a reaction to his hollowed haunting being removed and the opponent being annoyed because his hand was garbage. He was still a bit of a pleb but I don't see on what planet youd call GG in that position with that hand and board state.

Feel the same as the commenter above me. OP knew at that point they lost, but may as well finish out the game to get quests done/let you get quests done. I’ve done the same, but I just now realized how it looks to people who don’t know what I’m doing.

I’ll throw out GGs when I know I know I’ve lost but want to finish out the game. I don’t see the issue as it’s exactly what it looked like to me.

i play a historic version of it with the 3 rainbow Nivs , all the charms and the best 2 mana 2 colored legend creatures. Its hilarious if you add Ravnica Battle , and the Guildpact artifacts

Thank you for the idea for rainbowed niv mizzet. Ill try to bring this in a LGS by converting it into BO3. I might put an aurelia somewhere in between.

Just log in every day and grind out three wins and complete the daily quest. I paid $0 in and have hundreds of mythic and rare wildcards on two accounts.

Not sure I am going to try to play this one (although I do already have two copies of Niv and most of the other cards in the deck, so who knows) but I do have to say I realliy enjoyed this video. This is one of those types of cards where there's not a big reason to even play it, but you made an enjoyable deck out of it. Thanks! You should try making a Niv-Mizzet, Supreme deck. Its hexproof from mono-colored is far more useful and it also got huge buffs thanks to all of the 2 colored instants and sorceries in this set. A Jeskai deck built around it that utilizes Lightning Helix, No More Lies, & Ill-Timed Explosion could actually be pretty potent.

Man getting back in Arena is hard. The fact they expended standard makes it painful. Only 6 uncommon in this deck, 52 rares and 2 mythic. Next.

I like how you put a question mark in the thumbnail cause technically this deck doesn't contain every guild so it's more accurate to leave a question mark there

Would djeru and hazorat have a place in this deck? They fit the guild color and the deck has a ton of legendaries.

It’s an option, although we have a bunch of 5-drops already and Rivaz doesn’t ramp into it unlike our other Dragons.

Not sure exactly, but maybe doing something would multi-colored tokens might help. We have things like green and white detectives, red and blue elementals, etc that might pump the count easier than real permanents?

That's a good point, going through all the options I could see Courier's Briefcase being worth it as another early ramp card. We already have quite a few Selesnya cards, so not sure if it's worth it. Quintorius still seems too slow, so it doesn't solve our Boros problem.

I feel like you owe someone a ‘Nice’ when they hit you with the 5 colour Niv pile for lethal, it’s just polite.

21:14 u so lucky he didn’t just fire off the Field of Ruin😂 Lesson learned, always fire off the turn 3 field of ruin instead of letting the mana go to waste.

It's a nonbo with Niv-Mizzet since everything becomes multicolor and no longer a two-color pair.

Loses to a single field of ruin tho

His older desigsn were so much better, give us izzet Niv, not this multi colored mediocrity
