Man idk how people don't see all the little subtle domain cards are actually in this set. That robbery card in black all the surviel lands (spelunking essentially ignores the etb tapped) the surviel on etb sets up reanimation targets and smoothes draws the new kellian is artifact removal and it's adventure side allows him to be swapped with our slower ramp spells in the matches that his artifact removal will matter against decks like mono red playing urabrask forge . Sure you could use anything else but kellian adventure allows it to swap with cards that otherwise wouldn't be removed for sideboarding bc they're part of the ramp package. The blue spell that digs five deep and makes 2 piles is great for domain since it feeds our hand and gives us a way to close the game. It doesn't look like much but the artifact land in the set is also great for domain giving us an extra draw late game and allowing us to fix our colors with mirrex tokens if needed so many great cards here for domain idk what wizards was thinking

Did you try Charming Scoundrel as a hasty threat that also ramps you with the treasure? Seems like a good fit over the dancer but that dancer is mighty good admittedly

That's an interesting suggestion! Scoundrel might be a little too small to matter with a solved Case, but it has some things going for it.

very cool build. I have found that mirrex is an amazing land to run in it since the leyline solves its main problem of being colorless and if you are controled down flying vigilant double strike mights are fun. I also have been messing around with running Crew Captain instead of Fleetfoot Dancer. I am not convinced that it is a good swap because the trample is very strong for finishing it but a indestructible target to pump is very valuable, but worse against the boros go wide. Not sure if you will ever end up revisiting it, but putting leyline of the guildpact in an aggro shell has me tooling around with the card.

Found this leyline in my Karlov Manor prerelease. Now it is selling for 20 euros per copy, my god I love my luck sometimes

This was my Day 1 deck, but more Jank with 1 of copies of each Niv because why not. Its fun, but a huge bummer to constantly see your Leyline get banished by a turn 2 Binding. Can't wait for rotation and a Triome free Standard....among other things.

Cool deck as always LVD, have you played around with Slime against humanity yet? Is quite fun combined with self mill Jace, demonic bargain and slogurk

wondering if some sort of discard to draw card might be worth for double leyline hands/draws, but hard to fit in, seems pretty streamlined already besides that case.

What happens when the new Leyline and Blood Moon are on the battlefield simultaneously? I own no copies of BM or I'd test it against Sparky.

No, because Chromatic Lantern gives an activated ability that is completely independent of the lands' type

I still can not understand how Leyline Binding got printed. With just a single triome on the board, it becomes a strictly better borrowed time. I think Domain should have been limited to one land type per land, similar to how the party mechanic worked with changelings. I think that sort of restriction might have opened up the design space for more meta-viable cards beyond just Binding and Herd Migration.

If the Leyland gives all basic land type should also include wastes (non-coloured basic land) that should mean there are 6 basic lands types

It should, yes. Even if Blood Moon changes your lands to Mountains, the Leyline makes even your basics into all land types.

If you sac scamp while it has lifelink that damage also gains life no?

We only have Swamp and Mountain at that point. The dual lands specifically need to mention those basic land types (like you see on the new duals with Surveil or the Trilands from Capenna) to contribute towards Domain.

I mean, there was a whole mechanic based around having all five land types, then before that there were the triomes, and now there's the new leyline.

How do you come up with these decks, I try to make my own but they’re jank, inconsistent, or not strong enough to deal with other peoples decks

It helps when you can build off of past experiences.

Game 1 you could have just payed for Spell Pierce if they had it. No need to risk it with the Leyline play because after didn't have the mana to anymore.

Spell Pierce counters unless we pay 2, so that wouldn’t be the case. You might be thinking of a different counterspell.

I've been telling my friends that this leyline is definitely getting banned in modern, turn 0 domain is too strong, especially with that 12 mana guy that gives out keywords like Candy. That said I'm still trying to get a playset so I can build it

pretty aggravating watching people keep the greediest hands and get rewarded.

This plays like a combo deck, so I'm more willing to keep hands with Leyline and Pact even if there's no creatures. It took a few games for me to fully realize that, so I understand that some of those looked sketchy at first glance.
